SOUTH WILMINGTON GRADE SCHOOL CELEBRATED the importance of learning during its annual Family Fun Night. This year’s theme was “Greatest Place on Earth...SWGS.” There were over 130 participants, including children and family members, that celebrated along with the SWGS staff. The students and their families rotated through carnival-themed learning stations. Local author, Adam Peterson, shared the importance of kindness and inspired students to write their own books. Mrs. Wurl, along with her parents, involved the students into singing and clowning around with music. Families worked to - gether to “feed” the elephants peanuts after listening to the book Twenty-One Elephants and Still Standing by April Jones Prince. Mr. Matt Leman treated every student to a balloon animal. Parents and students were able to browse and shop new book titles at the Book Fair. SWGS volunteers and staff treated guests to hot dogs, chips, dessert, and drinks. Page 4 Wednesday, December 11 , 201 9 The Paper
