Overland Park celebrates 20th anniversary of Sister City relationship in Germany ® Overland Park leaders recently were in Germany to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Sister City relationship with the City of Bietigheim-Bissingen. Ceremonies, dinners and the dedication of the Overland Park Garten (shown below) continued to forge meaningful business and cultural relationships between the two cities. Pen pals were paired through Mike Hess, Chairman HNTB Corporation “Big Blue Marble,” a PBS program whose name was inspired by the Apollo 17 photo Bobby Olm-Shipman, Chair-Elect of the Earth that had been dubbed the “Blue Marble.” The purpose was to introduce Saint Luke’s South Hospital children to others in different parts of the country and the world.
