The CCG is a statutory body with the function of commissioning health services in England and is treated as an NHS body for the purposes of the 2006 Act. The powers and duties of the CCG to commission certain health services are set out in sections 3 and 3A of the 2006 Act. These provisions are supplemented by other statutory powers and duties that apply to CCGs, as well as by regulations and directions (including, but not limited to, those issued under the 2006 Act). 1.2.2

    Landowner Declaration Register This is maintained under Section 31A of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 15B(1) of the Commons Act 2006. It comprises: Landowner deposit under S.15A(1) of the Commons Act 2006 By depositing a statement, landowners can prevent their land being registered as a Town or Village Green, provided they make the deposit before there has been 20 years recreational use of the land as of right. A new statement must be deposited within 20 years. Landowner deposit under S.31(6) of the Highways Act 1980 Highway statements and highway declarations allow landowners to prevent their land being recorded as a highway on the definitive map on the basis of presumed dedication (usually 20 years uninterrupted use). Mark Fowels joined Nottingham City Transport in 1994 and took over as MD in 2001 and following a successful bid, also assumed the role of the Chairman of the Arrow Consortium which re-introduced trams to Nottingham in 2004. Flexible workspace provider Cuba has opened a second venue in Nottingham. The latest is on King Street providing office space, co-working space with hot desks, designated desks, meeting rooms and an in-house barista over four floors. Work to maintain and enhance the look of Trent Bridge – one of the key gateways to the city – has been completed. Nottingham’s Business Improvement District has secured a new five year term. It has received backing from the businesses of the city to continue its work over the next five years from 2021-2025. More city centre living opportunities. Part of the conference facilities of the St James Hotel in the city centre are to be converted into 14 apartments. Vertu Motors has added to its portfolio in Nottingham with the acquisition of the Kia Nottingham dealership in Old Basford from Sandicliffe. The transaction will bring the number of outlets operated by the Group in Nottingham to nine. The new Broadmarsh Car Park development is on course to open in the spring or summer next year. Last month BioCity, the pioneering life science incubator and business collective, supported by education charity Ignite! brought together ninety students from five local secondary schools, to celebrate the legacy of the celebrated Nottingham mathematician, Ada Lovelace, to inspire young women into STEM careers.

During this week Chief Inspector Ted Antill, the force lead for hate crime, has spoken out about it, Mickey Donald, a victim of disability hate crime has shared his story, and we have also reported on new projects funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner. Information on support for victims has also been made available. While the focus of the week has been hate crime we are continuing to drive home the message that we will not accept any form of violent crime.     CHURCH OF ENGLAND GENERAL SYNOD ELECTION ADDRESS FOR Michael John Wilson I am standing for election to the House of Laity for the General Synod of the Church of England, to represent the Southwell and Nottingham Diocese and ask you to cast your vote in my favour. I am a member of the Diocesan Synod at which I have enjoyed contributing to the debates and in particular listening to other members. I was elected by the synod to be a member of the Diocesan Board of Education at which I have witnessed a number of changes to church school provision in response to the changes introduced by the government. I believe my previous experience in education has help me make worthwhile and supportive contributions. I am the lay-chair of the Newark and Southwell Deanery which so far has been challenging, interesting but also stimulating. Trying to work with so many parishes within the deanery, especially with over half being in vacancy, has been a big challenge but I have learnt so much about the wider Church of England as a result. This has been the interesting part, seeing how different and varied parishes are but at the same time enjoying a common fellowship and faith. The stimulation is to go forward to use what gifts, experiences and skills I have at another level within the churches structure, hence my candidature. I worship at St Giles, Balderton where my main role is of treasurer. I have served as the editor of the parish magazine and choir master, although I continue to sing in the stalls and help with the music as best I can.
