He learned to play baseball from his father, Carl, who had once been a for the Puerto Rican national baseball team. As a child, Mike’s favorite day was Wednesday. On that day, his dad, a dentist, would take off from work. He’d bring Mike and his brother, Carlos, to the ball field. There they would practice batting for hours.
