“One of the greatest entertainers of our times” , summarised the Berliner Zeitung after his successful show in Berlin, which kicked off the tour in Germany. “80,000 celebrate Ed Sheeran: A world star enchants Hamburg ”, was the headline in the Hamburger Abendblatt on 26 July 2018. In terms of visitor numbers, the concert in the Hanseatic City (photo) was not only the largest on the current European tour, but also the largest ever played by Ed Sheeran to date. The musician always appears alone and unpretentiously on the enormous stage, equipped only with his acoustic guitar, a loop machine and his voice, and refrains from using a band, backing singers, dancers, or exaggerated rock star poses. From the very first second he enthralled his fans with such emotional songs and hits as “The A-Team”, “Shape Of You”, “Perfect”, “I See Fire” and “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You”. “ When hearts explode”, as the Süddeutsche Zeitung exclaimed.

Folkert Koopmans, FKP Scorpio Konzertproduktionen Managing Director, was delighted: “The huge crowds of fans that Ed Sheeran now attracts speak for themselves. An artist who can capture a giant stadium all on his own, while creating such a relaxed and indeed magical atmosphere, demonstrates true art – and it was also very special for me, as his promoter. We have been accompanying Ed Sheeran for many years: In 2011 we booked him for the Rolling Stone Weekender, a small indoor festival at the Baltic coast. It was his very first gig in Germany, in front of 200 people – and he still talks about it today! Seven years later, his tour is the largest that we, as his promoter, have organised in recent months – even bigger than the Rolling Stones. I am so happy for Ed Sheeran, who deserves every minute of his success, he is an exceptional artist!”
