Master's thesis in Applied Mechanics ELIAS BLOMSTRAND MIKE DEMANT Department of Applied Mechanics Division of Solid Mechanics Chalmers University of Technology Abstract Badminton, said to be the worlds fastest ball sport, is a fairly unknown sport from a scientific point of view. There has been great progress made to get from the old wooden rackets of the 19th century to the light-weight high performance composite ones used today, but the development process is based on a trial and error method rather than on scientific knowledge. The limited amount of existing studies indicate that racket parameters like shaft stiffness, center of gravity and head geometry affect the performance of the racket greatly.

  • Woven Fabrics
Fabric – Woven Fabrics WOVEN FABRICS Fabrics are made of yarns by weaving them in different combinations. It is mostly done by interlacing two sets of yarn or thread made of fibers called the warp and weft of the loom. It only stretches in the bias directions, between the warp and weft directions, unless the threads are elastic. Lengthwise stronger vertical yarns with more twist are Warp or Picks while widthwise filling yarns are termed as weft or ends. Sidewise edge of fabric is termed as Selvedge. THREE BASIC WEAVES There are three main types of weave: Plain, Twill and Satin Plain weave is a basic weave which is made when the thread is woven on one up and one down principle, some plain weave fabrics are Chambray, Chiffon, Gingham, and Organza etc. Twill weave is made when the thread is placed by varying the order of interlacing the yarns so that diagonal parallel lines are produced across the fabric. Satin Weave is a weave made when each warp yarn floats over four filling yarns and interlaces with fifth filling yarn. Plain weave Twill weave Satin weave Fabric – Weft Knit Fabrics Knitted Fabrics Knitting is the process of construction of a fabric by interlocking loops of yarn by means of hooked needles. Knitted fabric consists of horizontal rows known as courses and vertical columns of loops known as Wales. Knitted fabrics are porous having insulated air pockets giving warmth when worn. Knitted fabrics are very absorbent, wrinkle resistant and lightweight. They shrink more than woven fabrics unless shrink- proofing techniques are used.

Moreover, some of benzodiazepines are widely used as an anti-depressive and sedative drugs, and also as anti-epileptic drugs and in some cases can be useful as an adjunct treatment in refractory epilepsies or anti-alcoholic therapy. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods, thin-layer chromatography (TLC) methods, gas chromatography (GC) methods, capillary electrophoresis (CE) methods and some of spectrophotometric and spectrofluorometric methods were developed and have been extensively applied to the analysis of number of benzodiazepine derivative drugs (BDZs) providing reliable and accurate results. The available chemical methods for the determination of BDZs in biological materials and pharmaceutical formulations are reviewed in this work. This paper prescription from a medical practitioner or, if prescribed, when describes the impact of benzodiazepines they are used outside accepted medical practice or guidelines. misuse on the health and treatment of While the misuse of benzodiazepines has been identified high-risk opioid users. as a concern for large groups in the general population, for example, among elderly people and women, this analysis focuses specifically on misuse among high-risk opioid users (1), a group of people among whom these medicines have been linked with severe treatment challenges and implicated in considerable numbers of drug-related deaths. It is important to stress that much benzodiazepine prescribing to high-risk drug users is done with legitimate therapeutic aims in mind.

  • Catgut Enriched with Cuso4 Nanoparticles As a Surgical Suture
Nanomed Res J 5(3):256-264, Summer 2020 RESEARCH ARTICLE Catgut enriched with CuSO4 nanoparticles as a surgical suture: Morphology, Antibacterial activity, Cytotoxicity and Tissue reaction Ali Alirezaie Alavije1, Milad Rajabi1, Farid Barati1, Moosa Javdani1, Iraj Karimi2, Mohammad Barati3*, Mohsen Moradian4 1 Department of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Shahrekord University, Shahrekord, Iran. 2 Department of Pathobiology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Shahrekord University, Shahrekord, Iran 3 Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Kashan, Kashan, Iran. 4 Department of Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Kashan, Kashan, Iran ARTICLE INFO ABSTRACT Catgut was enriched with copper sulfate nanoparticles (CSNPs@Catgut), in order Article History: to develop a new composited suture with antibacterial and healing properties. Received 02 Jun 2020 Introducing copper sulfate nanoparticles to catgut was performed using a reverse Accepted 23 Jul 2020 micro-emulsion technique. It is an interesting method because of easy handling Published 01 Aug 2020 and relatively low costs. In the revers micro-emulsion medium, nano-spherical structures containing the salt solution are created. The nano-spheres penetrate Keywords: into catgut fibers and precipitate after drying to form the salt nanoparticles. The Catgut suture prepared CSNPs@Catgut was characterized using scanning electron microscopy, Copper sulfate X-ray diffraction (XDR) technique, tensile strength, antibacterial activity, and cytotoxicity tests. XRD and SEM confirmed the CuSO nanoparticles formation Micro-emulsion 4 and grafting on catgut surface. Antibacterial properties were illustrated by Nanoparticles E. coli inhibition zone and CSNPs@Catgut showed a significant antibacterial Wound healing activity compare with catgut. Results of cytotoxicity tests showed no difference between CSNPs@Catgut and catgut.

  • Pad Printing Vs. Screen Printing Advantages and Applications Introduction
Pad Printing vs. Screen Printing Advantages and Applications Introduction Choosing a graphical printing technique requires extensive consideration into the process, equipment, and mediums you’ll be working with. Two of the most prominent printing methods available today are Pad Printing and Screen Printing. It’s important to understand the advantages and disadvantages of both, especially if you’ll be transferring designs to different surfaces. Depending on the object you’re printing on, you’ll want to understand the strengths and weaknesses for both Pad Printing and Screen Printing. PRIME PRODUCTS, INC. 2755 Remico, S.W., Wyoming, MI 49519 Phone: 616.531.8970 Fax: 616.301.0033 [email protected] www. primeproductsinc.com 2 Screen Printing Overview With origins tracing back to the Chinese Song Dynasty around 960 AD, Screen Printing, otherwise known as Silk- screening, or Serigraphy, involves a woven mesh screen made from polyester, steel, or nylon. The mesh is usually coated with a special emulsion that blocks specific areas of the screen, forming the actual image you’re transferring, also known as the stencil. Screens can also be produced differently depending on the size and shape of the object that your design will transfer onto. The screen mesh itself is stretched and tensioned using a wood or metal frame, similar to a window or door screen. This allows the operator to force ink only into select areas where the design is transferred on to the surface of an object, otherwise known as the substrate. Once the screen is properly placed and secured over the substrate, the operator pours a specific volume of ink over the screen.
