Special center shuttle service continues through Ringling Bros. Circus

DART and the Take You to the Big Top at the New

Why clown around in your own car when you can take a bus or train to the Ringling Bros. Circus at the new American Airlines Center?

DART bus and light rail, along with the Trinity Railway Express, a joint service of DART and the T, are three ways to get kids of all ages to the big top on time.

Free Shuttle Buses for Circus American Airlines Center is funding free shuttle buses for the opening events including the Ringling Bros. Circus beginning Wednesday, August 1. The buses depart from DART's West End Rail Station (at the corner of Lamar St. and Pacific Ave.) and from the corner of Record and Ross streets in the West End Historic District. Customers should look for special signs that show where to board.

The shuttle bus service will begin two hours before the scheduled event and pick up passengers every 10 minutes prior to the event. The buses take customers directly to the center.

Return trips from the center to the West End and the West End Station begin immediately after the show ends and run every 10 minutes for an hour following the event. Customers leaving the center should board the bus on Wichita, between Houston and Victory streets.

Ride DART Rail to the Shuttle Bus (Click here for DART Light Rail Blue and Red Line Schedules) To make sure they reach the shuttle bus on time, customers can ride any of DART's light rail trains to the West End Station. Single-trip tickets for $1 or convenient round-trip Day Passes for $2 can be purchased from ticket vending machines at all rail station platforms.

Trinity Railway Express Circus fans from Irving and Tarrant County can ride the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) to and from a temporary platform at the center. There will be no TRE train service to the center from Union Station in downtown until the permanent Victory Station is completed in 2003.

The Trinity Railway Express has two fare zones. Passengers traveling between Irving and Dallas can purchase one-zone, single-ride tickets for $1 or round-trip Day Passes for $2. Passengers traveling from CentrePort/DFW Airport station in Tarrant County can purchase two-zone, single-ride tickets for $2 or round-trip Day Passes for $4. Tickets are available from ticket vending machines at each station. Monthly DART and T passes also are accepted.

There is no Trinity Railway Express service on Sunday, August 5 and 12.

Bus Routes 26 and 44 offer regular weekday and weekend service to American Airlines Center Customers wishing to reach American Airlines Center at any time also can ride DART Bus Routes 26 and 44 from the West Transfer Center located at Griffin and Pacific Streets in . Single-ride fare of $1 is payable in the bus farebox. Return trips from the center depart from Field and Cedar Springs streets.
