Leicestershire Coronavirus Lockdown Restriction have been put into place, pending a review from 18th July. The following areas of that are included in the localised lockdown:

Blaby District • (including Fosse Park), Glenfield, , Forest East (east of the M1) and . Charnwood • Birstall and Thurmaston. (all areas).

What Does This Mean? • All non-essential shops are closed. • Bars, restaurants and hairdressers will remain closed. • Schools are closed, except to vulnerable children and children of key workers. They will not reopen until next term. • All shielding guidance remains in place. • Single-adult households (those who live alone or with dependent children only) can still form a ‘support bubble’ with one other household. • People will still be able to meet in a group of up to other people outdoors.

Travel Advice for Areas Under Local Lockdown Essential travel is only allowed into and out of the lockdown areas for the following reasons: • To get to and from work where you cannot work from home. • To get essential food or medical supplies, this includes click and collect services. • If you need to support someone who is vulnerable if no-one else can. • For exercise, locally where possible. • Where support bubbles are allowed, travel to and from others in your support bubble. • Attend school or college or to accompany a child who is attending school or college where necessary and allowed. • You should not travel into, out of or within areas under local lockdown for a holiday.
