Sat Remembering Hiroshima and Nagasaki 4th Peace Gardens, Pinstone Street 12.30pm – 1.30pm An annual event to remember all victims, past, present and future, of the atomic bombs dropped on the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. There will be a short remembrance ceremony including songs by Sheffield’s Choir for Peace and messages from the Mayors of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Sheffield’s Lord Mayor, Magid Magid, will sign the International Mayors for Peace Declaration committing Sheffield to working for a future free of nuclear weapons

Sat Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust: Volunteer work day on Blacka Moor 4th Blacka Moor is on the A625 out of Sheffield a few hundred yards on the left before Fox House. 10am – 3pm Practical volunteer days at Blacka Moor are held on the first Saturday and third Thursday every month. Tasks vary from footpath improvements and access work, to habitat and vegetation management. Gloves, tools, and refreshments are provided, but wear suitable outdoor clothes and boots, and bring some lunch and drinking water if you're able to come for the whole day. Ecclesall Woods Wild Play: Summer Holidays 2018 – Weds AM Do you love playing outdoors? Then come and join us at our Wild Play events for families. You will find something for everyone in every school holiday, from bushcraft to muddy play, wild art to campfire cooking. This summer each session will have a different fun theme every week: 7th & 8th August – Pirate Adventure 14th & 15th August – Ninja Academy 21st & 22nd August – Wizards, Witches & Wildlife 28th & 29th August – Minibeast Safari Wild Play events are open to anyone and suitable for all ages. They take place in the school holidays – on Thursdays in Greno Woods and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Ecclesall Woods. Booking for this event is essential. Book your place using the online form on this page. Booking is complete once payment has been made. Please note that we are unable to refund payment for bookings unless we cancel the event. This will only happen in extreme circumstances and we will then contact you directly beforehand to make alternative arrangements.
