However, the rate of forest loss greatly exceeds the rate of species documentation and this increases the risk of losing macrofungi diversity to extinction. A field study was carried out in Kereita, Kikuyu Escarpment Forest, southern part of Aberdare range forest to determine effect of indigenous forest conversion to plantation forest on diversity of macrofungi. Macrofungi diversity was assessed in a 22 year old Pinus patula (Pine) plantation and a pristine indigenous forest during dry (short rains, December, 2014) and wet (long rains, May, 2015) seasons. -

These new species are bluing and belong to sectionsCordisporae , Stuntzae, and Zapotecorum. Following the recent conservation of Psilocybe as the generic name for bluing species, P. deconicoides, which does not blue upon bruising, is transferred to Deconica, while the bluing taxa P. cubensis (sect. Cubensae), P. magnispora and P. thailandensis (sect. Neocaledonicae), and P. samuiensis (sect. Mexicanae) remain in Psilocybe. Key words — hallucinogenic mushrooms, richness mycobiota, Strophariaceae, tropics Introduction The hallucinogenic fungal species in Thailand, as in most tropical countries, are poorly known, which is in direct contrast with the large fungal diversity that occurs throughout the tropics. Moreover, with considerable destruction of tropical habitats for use as agricultural or cattle farms, many species will likely disappear before being documented. -

THE SOCIETY LIBRARY CATALOGUE The BMS Council agreed, many years ago, to expand the Society's collection of books and develop it into a Library, in order to make it freely available to members. The books were originally housed at the (then) Commonwealth Mycological Institute and from 1990 - 2006 at the Herbarium, then in the Jodrell Laboratory,Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, by invitation of the Keeper. The Library now comprises over 1100 items. Development of the Library has depended largely on the generosity of members. Many offers of books and monographs, particularly important taxonomic works, and gifts of money to purchase items, are gratefully acknowledged. The rules for the loan of books are as follows: Books may be borrowed at the discretion of the Librarian and requests should be made, preferably by post or e-mail and stating whether a BMS member, to: The Librarian, British Mycological Society, Jodrell Laboratory Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, Richmond, Surrey TW9 3AB Email: <[email protected]> No more than two volumes may be borrowed at one time, for a period of up to one month, by which time books must be returned or the loan renewed. Mycosphere 8(10), 1640–1652, Doi 10.5943/mycosphere/8/10/4 Abstract Agaricus is a genus of macrofungi containing species with highly edible and medicinal values. A mushroom survey was recently carried out in Qilian Mountain National Natural Reserve, in Gansu Province of China, and yielded 21 Agaricus specimens. The morphological examination and phylogenetic analysis based on four-gene sequences from those specimens were conducted. The result shows they belong to four species in A. section Bivelares: A. sinotetrasporus sp. nov. and A. qilianensis sp. nov. are new species for science; A. devoniensis is a new record from China; and the famous button mushroom, A. bisporus is found in the wild. All of them are described and illustrated in details. A brief comparison with similar taxa or previous records are addressed too. -

Received 16 September 2014; Accepted 20 October 2014 Hymenagaricus mlimaniensis Mwanga & Tibuhwa sp. nov. is described from Dar es Salaam Mlimani Main Campus in the semi protected natural tropical forest left in the Dar es Salaam city. The species superficially looks like Agaaricus and its difference to the closest taxa in Hymenagaricus genus is both morphologically and genetically presented. The species is disstinctively characterized from the closest H. pallidodiscus Reid & Eicker and H. alphitchrous (Berk. & Broome) Heinem by having the distinctive pink-reddish colour of the disc, whiter diminutive fibril on the pink-reddish background, lack of developed cortinate veil, possession of smooth margin and microscopically, the presence of clamp connections which are lacking in the two closest taxa. This study thus, describe H. mlimaniensis sp. nov. as a new species in Hymagaricus genus based on both macro-mmicromorphhology and molecular markers. The new family Mythicomycetaceae, sister to Psathyrellaceae, is here proposed Phaeocollybia to name this clade, which is characterised, within the dark-spored agarics, by basidiomata with a mycenoid to Psathyrellaceae phaeocollybioid habit, absence of veils, a cartilaginous-horny, often tapering stipe, which discolours dark brown taxonomy towards the base, a greyish brown, pale hazel brown spore deposit, smooth or minutely punctate-verruculose spores without a germ pore, cheilocystidia always present, as metuloids (thick-walled inocybe-like elements) or as thin- walled elements, pleurocystidia, when present, as metuloids, pileipellis as a thin ixocutis without cystidioid elements, clamp-connections present everywhere, and growth on wood debris in wet habitats of boreal, subalpine to montane coniferous forests. Simocybe parvispora from Spain (two collections, including the holotype), which clusters with all the sequenced collections ofStagnicola perplexa from Canada, USA, France and Sweden, must be regarded as a later synonym of the latter. -

This is the first report of the genus Micropsalliota from China. Key words — Agaricaceae, taxonomy, phylogeny Introduction Micropsalliota Höhn. (Agaricaceae) was established by Höhnel (1914) and later emended by Pegler & Rayner (1969) and Heinemann (1976). Micropsalliota species are often encountered at the sides of forest trails in tropical areas (Zhao et al. 2010). Micropsalliota is similar to Agaricus L. as both genera have an annulus on the stipe, free gill attachment, and brown basidiospores. Phylogenetic analyses of ITS and LSU sequence data have established that Micropsalliota is monophyletic (Zhao et al. 2010). -

The genus grows on soil and can be easily recognized by the presence of an annulus on the stipe and free lamellae which become dark brown with spore maturation. Although Agaricus is easily recognized in the field because of its macroscopic characters, identifica- tion at the species level is difficult. Based on specimens collected in the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina, in the south of Brazil, we propose a new species Agaricus globocystidiatus. The new taxon is distinguished mainly by the presence of pleurocystidia, a rare morphological character in Agaricus.
