Product Benefits:  Ultra-compact WCSP 4 bump by 4 bump array package saves space  Measures 1.4 mm by 1.4 mm with a 0.35 mm pitch  Top-side lamination for increased ruggedness  Low power consumption of < 0.01 µW  Low drain OFF capacitance of 2.6 pF and drain ON capacitance of 7.6 pF  Low charge injection down to -0.7 pC  Low switch-on leakage current of 9 pA  High ESD tolerance > 8 kV (human body model)  Latch up current > 800 mA per JESD78  Four independently selectable SPST switches with closely matched channel resistance  1.4 V and 1.8 V logic thresholds ensure low-voltage TTL/CMOS compatibility  Vishay green, RoHS-compliant, and halogen-free

Market Applications:  Analog front-end signal switching, programmable gain control and sample and hold circuits, and multiple analog input multiplexing in smart watches, medical patches, fitness monitors, sensors, and other such products that make up the of Things (IoT)

The News:

Vishay Intertechnology introduces three new 200 Ω precision monolithic quad single-pole single-throw (SPST) analog switches in the ultra-compact WCSP 4 bump by 4 bump array package. The smallest such devices in the industry, the Vishay Siliconix DG2501, DG2502, and DG2503 save space in wearable and sensors, and portable healthcare, consumer, industrial, and communication devices, while offering high precision characterized by low parasitic capacitance, charge injection, and leakage current.

Product Group: Vishay Siliconix, ICs / January 2015

 50 % smaller than the closest competing device and 95 % smaller than switches in the standard QFN16 package  Conduct equally well in both directions when on and support analog signals up to the supply voltage  Guaranteed break-before-make operation for use in multiplexer applications

The Key Specifications:  Max. on-resistance: 200 Ω  Typical power consumption: < 0.01 µW

 CD(OFF): 2.6 pF

 CD(ON): 7.6 pF  Charge injection: -0.7 pC  Typical switch-on leakage current: 9 pA  Power supply: 1.8 V to 5.5 V

The Perspective: The Vishay Siliconix DG2501, DG2502, and DG2503 combine their compact size with typical power consumption of < 0.01 µW to prolong battery life in ultra-portable devices, while offering low parasitic capacitance, charge injection, and leakage current for high precision. Each device features four independently selectable SPST switches with closely matched channel resistance. The DG2501 is normally closed, while the DG2502 is normally open. The DG2503 has two normally open and two normally closed switches.

Availability: Samples and producing quantities of the DG2501, DG2502, and DG2503 are available now, with lead times of 10 weeks for large orders.
