“M. Kelly Tillery made the list because of his book of business, client list and what many in the legal community view as his very positive impact on his new firm, Pepper Hamilton.
When Tillery, who spent 23 years as a name partner at the small firm of Leonard Tillery & Sciolla (now called Leonard & Sciolla), made the move, he said he had received inquiries for years from larger firms looking to grab his intellectual property practice.
Tillery, in part, filled the gap left by fellow Top Lateral list-maker and IP lawyer Robert Koons, who left Pepper Hamilton in 2003 with one other partner. Pepper Hamilton never filled the vacancies until Tillery came along with clients such as Ozzy Osbourne and Meatloaf.
