After that date all applications will receive equal consideration. Fee Structure Including GST Fees due in full by August 31, 2019 Full season 1st Round 2nd &3rd Rounds Regular member curling one day $170.00 $90 $90 Regular member curling two days $300.00 Regular member curling three days $430.00 Five man Team curling one day $780.00* Five man Team curling two days $1400.00 Associate member (spare curler) $140.00 $75 $75. Clubhouse member (noncurler) $45.00 Note to curlers, please attach a cheque/cash to your application. Cheques may be post dated to August 31st, 2019 Fees include two Banquets (Christmas and the Windup) .Members who join after the start of the season must pay $20.00 for each banquet plus $6.00 for each remaining week on the schedule. Associate members pay $20.00 per Banquet plus $6.00 for each remaining week. Note:* The fifth man can pay $100 (1 day) $200 (2 day) or the Team can divide the fee by 5, your choice. The fifth man may attend the banquets and may spare on any day. Associate members wishing to curl for the first Round; have minimum 10 games and the Christmas banquet, 2nd & 3rd Round Associates have minimum 10 games and the Windup Banquet. Placement of Members on Teams The Membership & Draw Committee will review all applications and attempt to place applicants on a team. The following priorities will apply: Priority One - Associate members from previous season who apply as a Regular member. Priority Two - New applications and a Fifth Man who wishes to become a Regular curler. Priority Three - Regular members who curled one day the previous season and wish to curl twice a week. Substitutions are allowed by members not entered in the tournament for that day. Champions for each day will playoff for the Club championship. Darts and Pool: Tournaments for these optional events may be arranged. Sign-up sheets will be made available if enough interest is shown. You will be drawn to play on the same day you curl. Associate, Clubhouse Members and Fifth Man can spare in cribbage games and may sign up for darts and pool on whichever day they wish to play. Our own investigations of these reports, conducted during a series of fact-finding missions to Croatia in the past year, indicate that many of these reports are well-founded. We call upon you to investigate the abuses enumerated in this letter and to punish those responsible for them. We call upon you to take immediate measures to ensure that such violations of human rights do not occur again. The abuses described in this letter include violations of the laws of war in the current conflict between Croatian and Serbian forces and the Yugoslav army, including the summary execution of civilians and disarmed combatants; the torture and mistreatment of detainees; arbitrary arrests and disappearances; destruction of civilian property and the killing of journalists covering the war. In addition to violations connected with the war, Helsinki Watch has also documented restrictions on freedom of expression and the press and interference with the independence of the judiciary. Finally, we are gravely concerned about the harassment, discrimination and rising violence against Serbs not engaged in the armed conflict in Croatia. Rules of War Violations in Croatia by Croatian Forces Violations of the rules of war are often committed by local police officers and members of the Croatian army1 in areas which are under heavy siege by Serbian forces and the Yugoslav army.

    EVERY FIFTH MAN Edward D. Hoch YOU PROBABLY WONDER why I’m still alive after all that has happened, and l suppose it is quite a story. I’d been living and training with the exiles for two years before the attempted coup, knowing - as we all knew - the penalty for failure. There were months of hand-to-hand combat and paratrooper training and even some explosives practice before we were ready for the big day, the day we returned to Costanera. I’d lived the 25 years of my life in the cities and towns and jungle villages of Costanera. It was my country, worth fighting for, every inch of it. We left with the coming of General Diam, but now we were going back. We would drop from the skies by night, pin the anti-Diam military, and enter the capital city in triumph. That was the plan. Somehow it didn’t work out that way. The military changed their minds about it, and we jumped from our planes into a withering crossfire from General Diam’s forces. More than half of our liberation force of 65 were dead before we reached the ground, and the others were overrun quickly. By nightfall we found ourselves prisoners of the army in the great old fortress overlooking Azul Bay. There were 23 of us taken prisoner that day, and of these one man - Tomas - had a bad wound in his side. We were crowded into a single large cell at the fortress and left to await our fate. It was hot in there, with the sweat of bodies and a mustiness of air that caught at my throat and threatened to choke me.
