SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS HIGH SCHOOL OF FORT LAUDERDALE HAS MOST NFL PLAYERS; LEADS ALL STATES; TOPS HOMETOWNS

Saint Thomas Aquinas High School (Fort Lauderdale, Florida), with nine players, tops the list of high schools with the most players on 2016 NFL Kickoff Weekend rosters, USA Football announced today.

“Playing at Aquinas was one of the best things that I could have ever done,” said center BRANDON LINDER. “Just the tradition of that place. Not even in football, but in life, the coaches made sure we excelled in class and off of the field as well. I’m very grateful to have gone there in high school and I’m proud to see so many alums in the league today.”

NFL players hail from 1,369 high schools in 47 states and the District of Columbia, nine countries and a U.S. territory (American Samoa). The totals are based on the 1,695 men on Kickoff Weekend rosters.

“I congratulate the high school coaches that have had the pleasure of molding young men who eventually achieved their dream of playing in the ,” said ROMAN OBEN, NFL senior director of youth and high school football. “More than one million high school players, coaches and parents around the country believe in the benefits of football participation, and we applaud and salute the entire high school football community for their contributions to the game we love.”
