The audience will hear selections made famous by Fanny Brice, Carol Burnett, Betty Buckley, Carol Channing, Judy Holliday, Angela Lansbury, Patti LuPone, Mary Martin, Ethel Merman, Liza Minnelli, Bernadette Peters, Barbra Streisand, Elaine Stritch, and Nancy Walker. On making her cabaret debut: “The idea of putting together an original cabaret act where you’re standing on stage for ninety minutes straight has always sounded daunting to me,” Malone said. “I’ve had the idea for this particular cabaret format for a few years. I felt the time was right to challenge myself, and I couldn’t be more proud to debut this cabaret on the very stage that offered me my first musical theatre experience as a nine-year-old in the Moonlight’s very first musical Oliver! directed by Kathy Brombacher.” Malone can relate to the fact that the leading ladies she has chosen to celebrate are all attached to iconic comedic roles. “I learned at a very young age that getting laughs is golden,” she said.

Abbott and Costello haven't made a picture all day." And he was right. fter the smash success of their first starring feature,Buck Privates, (1941) burlesque and Aradio comics Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were the number one box office attraction in the country--and literally saved Universal Studios from bankruptcy. In fact, the only movie that outgrossed Buck Privates at the time was Gone with the Wind. Anxious to keep the team working, Universal Studios had already completed production on their next film, a non-music spoof of two popular film genres of the era--the Haunted House movie and Gangster melodrama--then titled Oh Charlie! (a reference to a running gag in the film where a dead gangster's body keeps turning up). But when the huge box office returns fromBuck Privates began rolling in, Universal temporarily shelved Oh Charlie! to put the team in an- other service themed follow-up, In the Navy. When they returned to Oh Charlie! , Universal discovered test audiences for the film wondered why the Andrews Sisters, who had been in the two previous hits, were absent in this one. So additional re-shoots were required to include the trio, now making it a horror/ comedy, with a couple of songs thrown in. The title was eventually changed to Hold That Ghost and became the third smash hit for Abbott and Costello that year, continuing a string of successes that would keep them among the top box office attractions for the next ten years and would also serve as the inspiration for another classic, 1948's Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.

Mikhail Baryshnikov Exhibitions
Mikhail Baryshnikov Aside from being renown as a dancer, Mikhail Baryshnikov has practiced photography for over 30 years and is now also known for his dance photography. His photographs capture the emotions of dance, they are full of vitality, rich colour, movement and grace. He effectively blurs movement portraying the dancers as somewhat alien or angelic. Despite having retired as a dancer himself, Baryshnikov explains that he is still a dancer in his mind and continues dancing through the images he captures. His process of photography involves being on stage with dancers. This closeness gives the photographs intimacy and insight; Baryshnikov’s lens is near enough to the movement to reveal its subtlety. Courtney Harding, Is Excited to Start Her Second Year As a TACT Academy Instructor
Denise S Bass, has several television credits to her name including Matlock, One Tree Hill, HBO's East Bound and Down with Danny McBride and Katy Mixon, and TNT's production of T-Bone and Weasel starring Gregory Hines, Christopher Lloyd, and Wayne Knight. Also to her credit are several ﬁlm productions including The Road to Wellville with Anthony Hopkins and Matthew Broderick, Black Knight with Martin Laurence, and The 27 Club with Joe Anderson. She has been performing theatrically since 1981 working from NC to Florida and touring the Southeast with the American Family Theatre out of Philadelphia. Denise's most recent roles include Ethel in Thalian Association's production of "Barefoot in the Park" (Winner 2017 Thalian Award Best Actress in a Play), Dottie in Thalian Association's production of "Noises Off" (Nominee 2016 Thalian Award Best Supporting Actress in a Play), and Madam Thenadier in Opera House Theatre Company's production of Les Miserable. Other notable roles over the years include Sally in "Follies", Dolly Levi in "Hello, Dolly!", Molly Brown in "The Unsinkable Molly Brown", Delightful in "Dearly Departed", Diana Morales in "A Chorus Line", and Mrs. Meers in "Throughly Modern Mille”. She is a producer and featured performer with Ensemble Audio Studios and was part of the cast for the audio production of "The King's Child", which was selected in 2017 at the Hear Now Audio Festival for the Gold Circle Page. The San Francisco Bay Area, Can disaster be a good thing for the arts? In the California San Francisco Bay Area, the answer is a qualified “yes.” A terrible earthquake has shaken loose mil- lions of dollars for the arts, while urban sprawl has boosted the development of arts centers right in the communities where people live. After the Loma Prieta earthquake struck in 1989, many key institutions were declared unsafe and had to be closed, fixed and primped. Here’s what reopened in the past five years alone: American Conservatory Theatre (ACT), the city’s major repertory theater, for $27 million; the War Memorial Opera House, home of the San Francisco Opera and Ballet, for $88 million; and on the fine arts front, the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, for $40 million; and the Cantor Center for the Visual Arts at Stanford University, for $37 million. Another $130 million is being raised to rebuild the seismically crippled M.H. de Young Memorial Museum, and at least $30 million is being sought to repair the Berkeley Art Museum. Within San Francisco itself, a vital visual arts center has been forged just within the last five years with the opening of the new $62 million San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Meanwhile the Jewish Museum, the Asian Art Museum, the Mexican Museum and a new African-American cultural center all plan to move to seismically safe buildings in the area in the next two years. Art galleries, on the other hand, limp along compared with those in Los Angeles or New York.

HUGH WOOLDRIDGE Director and Lighting Designer; Visiting Professor Hugh Wooldridge has produced, directed and devised theatre and television productions all over the world. He has taught and given master-classes in the UK, Europe, the US, South Africa and Australia. He trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and made his West End debut as an actor in The Dame of Sark with Dame Celia Johnson. Subsequently he performed with the London Festival Ballet / English National Ballet in the world premiere production of Romeo and Juliet choreographed by Rudolph Nureyev. At the age of 22, he directed The World of Giselle for Dame Ninette de Valois and the Royal Ballet. Since this time, he has designed lighting for new choreography with dance companies around the world including The Royal Ballet, Dance Theatre London, Rambert Dance Company, the National Youth Ballet and the English National Ballet Company. He directed the world premieres of the Graham Collier / Malcolm Lowry Jazz Suite Under A Volcano and The Undisput’d Monarch of the English Stage with Gary Bond portraying David Garrick; the Charles Strouse opera, Nightingale with Sarah Brightman at the Buxton Opera Festival; Francis Wyndham’s Abel and Cain (Haymarket, Leicester) with Peter Eyre and Sean Baker. He directed and lit the original award-winning Jeeves Takes Charge at the Lyric Hammersmith; the first productions of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and T. S.
