The weekend honored the 50th anniversary of the Buckeyes Na onal Championship in 1966. The 1966 teams was joined by members of the 1965 and 1967 teams. The Columbus Home Plate Club hosted a panel discussion with members of the 1966 National Championship team. Dia- mond Club member Jim Tootle moderated the panel. The team was represented by Dr. John Sonedecker, Pat Mogan, Ray Dusenbury, Dick Boggs and Chuck Brinkman. The Golden Era of Ohio State Baseball was honored at Alumni Day. Washington, a junior, was one of 74 catchers to be named. With the Big Ten Baseball Tournament set to return to Omaha, Neb., in 2016 and 2018, the conference announced an extension for TD Ameritrade Park to serve as the host venue from 2019 through 2022. The Diamond Club would like to extend its condolences to the family of former Buckeye Jim Herbstreit. Herbstreit passed away March 20th.
