Choose CRA 27th Annual Conference then tap download. 2 Welcome to the Carolina Recycling Association’s 27th Annual Conference and Trade Show On behalf of the Board of Director’s, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Carolina Recycling Association’s 27th Annual Conference and Trade Show! We are very excited that you’re with us in beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC for what promises to be one of the most exciting and energizing events yet. This year’s conference is filled with inspiring workshops, speakers, sessions, panel discussions and countless opportunities for networking and connecting with the amazing people in the field of recycling and waste reduction. Be sure to visit the exhibit hall where you will find representatives from every area of our profession showcasing the latest and greatest equipment, technologies, and services offered in the Carolinas and beyond. I would like to extend a personal invitation to attend the Exhibitors Grand Opening Reception in the exhibit hall to be held on Tuesday, March 28th beginning at 4:30pm. Please show your support and take advantage of the many opportunities the exhibit hall has to offer. Make plans to attend the Annual Business Meeting that will be held on Wednesday March 29th from 3:30-4:30 in the Windsor Ballroom. Recognize your peers for their achievements and contributions to the field at our Awards Luncheon in the beautiful Palmetto Pavilion on Wednesday at the conference. Please join us for these special events and become involved in the work of the association while recognizing and showing your support for those that are doing such a great job in our industry. Last but not least, I want to encourage you to meet your CRA Board candidates for the 2017 election, and then stop by our voting booth near the registration desk to participate in our yearly election. We want you to engage with CRA as much as possible, and that includes helping us elect board members that will lead our organization in a positive direction. Get involved, join a council, volunteer, vote. This is what continues to make our organization great and what enables us to learn, network and inspire. The educational program we have to share with you is second to none. The conference program is produced through the hard work of many dedicated people. MONDAY, March 27 10:00am – 2:00pm Full Circle Food - Lunchroom to Garden Tour of Ocean Drive Elementary School with an overview of food waste composting programs illustrating how food waste compost is used at schools in beautification projects, followed by a visit to the Horry County Solid Waste Authority landfill for a tour of the food waste composting facility and enhanced compost garden. In addition, since the group will be at the SWA during lunchtime, the SWA will provide a complimentary zero waste lunch to the group! The tour timeline is as follows: 10:00am Start Time (leave Embassy Suites-Transportation will be provided for you) 10:30am Arrive at Ocean Drive Elementary during lunch; allow for 20-30 minute presentation on the ends/outs of the program 12:00pm Travel to SWA to tour Food Waste Composting Facility; tour SWA display garden where enhanced compost is being used, lunch 2:00pm Return to Embassy Suites bmwusfactory.com IMPACT. MONDAY, March 27: 9:00am – 3:30pm Collegiate Recyclers Coalition Workshop and Service Project The CRC Workshop is an opportunity to hear from those who would like to opt out of the service project, a fellow colleagues about exciting innovations, new screening of “Just Eat It,” a 74-minute documentary about ideas, challenges, and lessons learned in the world of food waste and food rescue will be shown at Coastal collegiate recycling.
