Speedway European Championship in Torun () - Preview

On June 20th the Speedway European Championship series will start. At Mo- toArena in Torun (Poland) the fifteen best riders of Europe will compete for the first points in the general classifi- cation, for the title of champion of Europe. Apart from five riders who en- sured direct qualification from last year series - , Peter Kildemand, , Martin Va- culik and Janusz Kolodziej - at the set of SEC the permanent participant will be the legend of Polish Speedway To- masz Gollob. The official promovideo of the event can be watched at this link: https://youtu.be/v1GxzlIPrfU “The start in SEC is really important for me and I’ll do my best to win this coveted title. I hope every heat will be exciting and all fans at the stadium will be happy. Certainly I have a better chance than in previous years, I'm thinking mostly about the changes concerning silencers that allow you to ride in contact. For sure I am in a better po- sition before the upcoming series”, said the 2010 World Champion. “Of course I’m motivated because I haven’t won the European Championship, yet. I would like to ride as good as possible and win. But this is sport and you have to approch humbly. A rider must understand that sometimes you can lose. I will do everything I can, but who know how it’ll go!” added . "I am pleased that the first round of Speedway European Championship will be in Torun because it's a great stadium and I hope to see it full set fans. As for the rest of the stadiums, I think they are very well chosen and I'm looking forward to the first heat in European Championship. I want to race against the best and these tracks are good to fight, it's a big plus for the organizers. There you can see really good speedway", said 2013 European Champion, Martin Vaculik. Although Danish Nicki Pedersen has won three world titles and silver and bronze medals in European Champion- ships, he is still looking forward to ano- ther success. “Power” has announced tough fight for every point and he wants to dethrone the current cham- pion, Emil Sayfutdinov. “For sure I have motivation to ride, otherwise I would not be riding speedway. I think I’ve still got a few good years in my career, I just have to stay motivated and keep my physics and equipment at a top level, and then I know I can compete for the medals”, said Nicki Pedersen, Press Release

who won the two first rounds last season but lost his chances to win on his home track in Hol- sted. “Yes, I was very disappointed after the meeting in Holsted last year. I really wanted to make a great performance in front of my home crowd, but everything went wrong. I can only blame myself for it. Whenever I enter a speedway track I always try to win the race. I need to have a constant high performance over all four rounds of the SEC series to have a chance to win it, and that is my goal”, stated triple World Champion. Emil Sayfutdinov, who received the cup for the best rider of Europe in Częstochowa, is not going to give up easily, either. “I do not feel any pressure or I do not put such one on myself. Now it is a new season and we are starting from scratch. What happened last season does not matter. If you want to win, you have to do it here and now, and not dwell on what happened last year”. Emil Sayfutdinov added that so far he has been satisfied with his results and he is going to fight for European Champion title again: “I have very good equipment and it is only up to me that all is well used and everything will be fine. My tuner and my team did a great job and I'm very pleased with everything”. Local rider Paweł Przedpełski will start as in the round in Torun. “I would like to thank the organizers for the trust I got. I’ll give 100% and prove that I’ve for this chance. The inauguration of SEC in Torun is something incredible because riding in front of my fans is a great honor. I guess that the stadium will be full because it always happens with good meetings at MotoArena”, added Paweł Przedpełski. The organizers have prepared very attractive ticket prices for June event.
