Cervone Center for Learning GLOBAL STUDIES AND APPLIED SCIENCE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS Jennifer Roberts, B.A. The School awards certificates in Global Studies and in Applied Science to students who successfully College Guidance Assistant complete the two-year interdisciplinary programs. Global Studies and Applied Science are open to all Pennington students; students apply in the winter of their sophomore year for participation during their UPPER SCHOOL ENROLLMENT 2019–20 junior and senior years. Program components include specialized and extended coursework, fieldwork, Grade 9 110 a global- or STEM-focused Horizon senior internship project, and participation in a speaker series. The successful completion of these requirements, together, gives students diverse exposure and rich Grade 10 107 experience in the global or applied science fields. Grade 11 118 Grade 12 99 GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS Total 434 To graduate, a student must have earned twenty credits, including four years of English; three years of mathematics; three years of history/social studies; three years of science (two years of lab science); STANDARDIZED TESTING two years of world language; one semester each of religion/ethics, arts, and health; one semester of technology; and one quarter of public speaking. Cervone Center for Learning, Total 1241 preparing students with diagnosed language-based learning disabilities for college; varsity competition in 22 sports with a total of 42 athletic teams; chorus; voice lessons; instrumental lessons; plays and Mean ACT Test Data 2019 musicals; art exhibitions; peer leadership programs; student publications; student government; Mock Trial; Model United Nations; Cum Laude Society; Horizon Senior Internship Program; and dozens of English 25 other activities and student-run clubs. At the conclusion of each academic year, grade point averages are calculated by assigning numerical points to each letter grade based on a 4.0 grading scale. NOTIFICATION OF DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS The Pennington School does not volunteer to colleges/universities information about infractions for which a student may have been suspended or placed on probation. If asked, the School will report suspensions or probations resulting from violations of local, state, and federal law; from acts of academic dishonesty or vandalism; or from any violation of the safety of the School community. The School will notify the appropriate colleges of a student’s separation from the School if that student has already submitted applications.
