"Raw Deal" Theme Song Written by Ron Edgeworth Sung by Margaret Roadknight (sic, also Margret)

Ron Edgeworth began his musical career as keyboard player with an English band The Trebletones. The band acted as a support for the Australian group on one of its final tours of the UK, and later Edgeworth was hired as singer Judith Durham's musical director. This led to romance and marriage in 1969, with Edgeworth writing many of Durham's recordings in the 1970s. The pair retreated from the industry in the 1990s and moved to a rural lifestyle in Queensland.

Edgeworth was eventually diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease, and died in December 1994. There is a tribute page here, online as of June 2013, but because of his connection to The Seekers and Durham, there are many other references to Edgeworth and his work online.

Edgeworth was Patrick Edgeworth's older brother.

Margret Roadknight was an extremely popular singer in the 1970s, though her career has endured into the 2000's. She has a comprehensive official website here, active as of June 2013, and at time of writing, a very short wiki here.

The lyrics for the song over the tail credits are:

It's all a game A game of chance You live to die 'Til then you dance Dance awhile Enjoy a smile But just recall That's all, that's all

Life's dealt your hand And she's marked your cards To win or lose It's in your stars The stars don't care The way you feel Too bad, because that's life Raw deal

A love will last and last For just a day Youth will bloom and then Be blown away

Wealth will come And wealth will go So what's the point Of this passing show?

It's all a game Just a game of chance You live to die Until then you dance It seems a dream Does it seem unreal Well too bad, that's life Raw deal …
