The 1st Annual Rhode Island and Wound Care Symposium presented by a multidisciplinary center team and faculty supplemented by perspectives from nationally recognized leaders in wound care. This symposium will provide attendees who study and treat wounds across all practice settings with state-of-the-art review of clinical problems and research information.

Target Audience The conference is designed for the interdisciplinary team of Physicians, Podiatrists, Nurses, Researchers involved in wound healing or wound care issues.

Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: 1. Employ an interdisciplinary approach to wound prevention, treatment, and limb salvage. 2. Describe the comprehensive management of patients with venous, arterial, and diabetic wounds. 3. Provide optimal healthcare delivery through improved understanding and the use of novel wound care technologies that allows for better outcomes. 4. Describe various factors that inhibit wound healing including medical co-morbidities, commonly used drugs and devices, and other challenges. 5. Assess existing evidence-based criteria for efficacy of commonly used wound care treatments including negative pressure wound therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy
