Alfie Bellew Dies: Alfred >Alfie= Bellew, believed to be Thoroughbred racing=s oldest licensed official, passed away Saturday. He was 95. Born into a racing family in Latonia, Ken- tucky, Bellew worked at tracks in Kentucky, Florida, Louisiana and Ohio. At River Downs, he served as a state steward, clerk of scales and paddock judge. He retired in 2004. Visitation will be this evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia.
