  • The Labour Party WHO’S WHO in the EAST
The Labour Party WHO’S WHO IN THE EAST NOT AN OFFICIAL LABOUR PARTY DOCUMENT Stephen Thomas| 12th April 20 0 https://socialistandtradeunionism.org/ Forward The first steps into socialist politics can be a minefield. Like many organisations the membership has different views but has one socialist theme on how we should represent the people, take the Party forward and lead the Country. We have recently lost yet another General Election. Labour’s, some would say, knee jerk reaction, has led to a swing to the right after several years to the socialist left under Jeremy Corbyn. Whichever way you look at it, it is the members of the party that choose the policies and it is the Leaders responsibility to deliver on them. The choice of the leader is how to implement them and ignite the country so once again they too can believe in our socialist values. At the time of writing, the world is going through a Pandemic, with tens of thousands of people dying. The Conservative Party is in power with a massive majority and are at their most popular, mainly through implementing Labour’s socialist policies. Now collectively known as frontline staff, the country has come to recognize the worth and value of our NHS, careers and cleaning staff. Political theories have entwined with each other and some would fear it has now become more difficult to distinguish between the political Parties. Once the survivors return to a normal way of life, where we can once again visit our family and friends, go to work, walk in the countryside and visit the seaside, then please don’t let the country return to the old Conservative ways of doing things.

Appendix 2 Paper EFA/00x/13 Page 1 ESSEX FIRE AUTHORITY Essex County Fire & Rescue Service MEETING AGENDA ITEM Policy & Strategy Committee 10 MEETING DATE REPORT NUMBER 23 September 2015 EFA/080/15 SUBJECT Invest to Save Proposal – Installation of Solar Panels – Closure Report REPORT BY Finance Director & Treasurer PRESENTED BY Finance Director & Treasurer – Mike Clayton SUMMARY The purpose of this paper is to provide the Committee with a closure report for the Solar Panels project implemented across the Authority’s property portfolio. The project was approved in 2013 at an estimated cost of £1.93m and an estimated payback period of 10 years. The final project cost was £1.287m and the current estimated payback period is 13 years. Recommendations Members of the Policy & Strategy Committee are asked to note the report. BACKGROUND In 2013 the Committee approved the funding and installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels across the Authority’s property portfolio. It was identified as an opportunity to deliver significant savings and protection against increasing energy costs. Solar PV panels generate electricity from the sun’s energy; producing electrical energy for use on site and gaining income from the Feed – in Tariff (FIT) scheme for energy generated. The budget for the project was £1.9m. Following the approval of the initial 31 locations, an additional 5 properties were identified as suitable for installations. The Authority gained the benefit of keen market pricing and technological improvements allowing an increased total, 36 photovoltaic

HARWICH & Dovercourt Bay @HistoricHarwich www.historicharwich.com #GETONBOARD2020 2019 Edition KINGS LYNN NORWICH GT YARMOUTH LOWESTOFT CAMBRIDGE IPSWICH STANSTED COLCHESTER HARWICH CLACTON-ON-SEA LONDON HARWICH This traditional historic maritime town has a fascinating history. It is probably best known for being the home of Christopher Jones, Captain of the Mayflower, who in 1620 took the first pilgrims to America. 2020 sees the 400th anniversary of this incredible journey and Harwich will be participating in the many celebrations planned throughout the UK and oversees. There are also numerous attractions to visit in and around the town including the High and Low Lighthouses, the Treadwheel Crane, the Redoubt Fort (a truly spectacular Napoleonic circular fort and moat) and The Electric Palace Theatre, one of the UK’s oldest operational cinemas. The port itself however, remains a bustling centre of maritime activity with cruise ships, ferries and container ships regularly visiting.
