Surya Prakash Goud, Faculty member (SED) visited Vijayawada, Kondapally, Pedana, Rajahmundry, Vizag and Vizianagaram during 1-4 July 2019 to facilitate implementing agencies, technical agencies and SPV members in implementation of SFURTI pro- gramme. On 1st July, he met the Project Director (DRDA), Mr. Krishna along with CDE and SPV members of Kondapally Wooden Toys cluster and discussed on transfer of MPLAD funds towards construction of CFC and procurement of machinery for cluster. He suggested CDE and SPV to prepare building drawings, machinery specifications and also coordinate with Asst Project Manager of DRDA for release of funds. The members present mentioned that they are facing challenges due to competition from imitated screen print- ed products from other states, pollution related issues because of usage of chemicals by some entrepreneurs/ artisans, poor response from the market and reduced orders etc. They wanted to establish CFC with power looms to produce required fabric for the cluster units as most of them are procuring fabric from Erode, Surat, Nagari. He had visited proposed site for CFC along with the SPV members. The members discussed various options for speedy implementation of the project. The SPV agreed to send revised proposal in a week days after consulting technical expert. On 3rd July 2019, Mr. Goud had visited regional office of Coir Board at Rajhmundry and discussed on proposed new coir projects with Mr. Ramachandra Rao, Regional Officer and coir entrepreneurs. The issues of Vizianagaram and Chittor coir clusters, preparation of DPR for Amalapuram and Kadiyapulanka Coir clusters etc were discussed in detail. He gave details of SFURTI scheme for some of the coir entrepreneurs. Later he has visited proposed CFC site of Jonnada Food Processing Cluster along with Mr. Rajababu, President of Implement- ing agency and interacted with the artisans
