Ken Davenport ART-REPRENEUR KEN DAVENPORT Ken is a Tony Award-winning Broadway producer and a true entrepreneur. His productions have been produced internationally in over 25 countries around the world. In addition to his own work, Ken is the Executive Producer of North America for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group. Outside of theatre, he has produced an award-winning documentary, was featured on a national commercial for Apple’s iPhone, has authored multiple books, and created Broadway’s only board game, Be a Broadway Star. His blog, TheProducersPerspective.com, has been featured in Vanity Fair, New York Magazine, and more, and he’s written articles for Forbes, Mashable, and many others. Ken’s unique production and marketing style has garnered him international attention, including front-page articles in the NY Times and features on multiple media outlets -- his favorite, a mention in Jay Leno’s monologue on “The Tonight Show.” www.theproducersperspective.com | [email protected] I wanted to work with Ken because he “works to shatter the mold. And use his boundless energy to break new ground.” ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER www.theproducersperspective.com | [email protected] Shows PRODUCED BY KEN PREVIOUS SHOWS Mitch Papadopolous just turned 40. And thanks to the recent financial crisis, he just got fired. An out-of-work investment banker with no place to go, Mitch heads back to the one place he swore he’d never go back to . and moves back in with his Mom . in New Jersey. On his first day back in town, he runs into his best friend from high school who suggests that they “get the band back together.” So he grabs his buddies – the high school math teacher who isn’t very good at math, the police officer who dreams about being an actor, an Indian dermatologist, and a 16 year old Jewish kid who wants to be a rap star – and grabs his guitar to give his dream one more shot. www.theproducersperspective.com | [email protected] PREVIOUS SHOWS ONCE ON THIS ISLAND is a musical revival bursting with Caribbean color, rhythms, and dance. This musical celebration follows the tale of Ti Moune, a fearless peasant girl who falls in love with a wealthy boy from the other side of the island. When their divided cultures threaten to keep them apart, Ti Moune, guided by the island gods, sets out on a remarkable quest to reunite with the man who has captured her heart. www.theproducersperspective.com | [email protected] PREVIOUS SHOWS When it debuted on Broadway, SPRING AWAKENING‘s raw and honest portrayal of youth in revolt shattered expecta- tions of what a musical could do, earning it 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book (for writer, Steven Sater) and Best Score (for composer, Duncan Sheik and lyricist, Steven Sater). Deaf West’s innovative new production takes this already revolutionary musical to electrifying new heights by choreographing sign language into the production, inten- sifying the rift between the lost and the longing teenagers and the adults who refuse to hear them. Directed by Michael Arden, Deaf West’s SPRING AWAKENING is full of knockout performances, explosive music and soul-stirring emotion. www.theproducersperspective.com | [email protected] UPCOMING SHOWS The next installment in the blockbuster Vacation movie franchise . but this time onstage.
