  • Rating the Packers: Week 19 at Cowboys
Rating the Packers: Week 19 at Cowboys By Bob McGinn – Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel Posted: Jan 17, 2017 Green Bay - Now owner Jerry Jones and son Stephen, his top personnel man, understand keen disappointment when it comes to playoff football between the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers. Three straight times in the 1990s (’93, ’94 and ’95) the Cowboys eliminated the Packers. Now the Cowboys have been ousted by the Packers twice in the last three years. “We have a team and we have players that can win these big games,” Jones said Sunday after the Cowboys fell to the Packers, 34-31, in an NFC divisional game at AT&T Stadium. “As much credit as we’re going to give Green Bay, and we’re giving them their due, we now know we’re capable of taking it all the way, too.” Here is a rating of the Packers against the Cowboys, with their 1 to 5 football totals in parentheses: RECEIVERS ( 4 ½ ) There’s a major reason why the offense sputtered in the Game 5 loss to the Cowboys. Jared Cook was out with an ankle injury. Obviously, Jordy Nelson (ribs) was missed in this game, but probably not to the extent that Cook would have been. Cook (played 51 of the 67 offensive snaps, including 23 with his hand down) is a unique player on this roster. The 36-yard reception to set up the winning field goal would have been difficult for a WR, let alone a TE. His hands, his sideline awareness and his ability to read a coverage coming all the way across the field were just outstanding.

Former Ohio State Players Find New NFL Teams For 2021 Along with offensive lineman Pat Elflein, who was announced to be signing with the Carolina Panthers, two more Ohio State players have been reported to be on the move, and will be joining new NFL teams for the 2021 season. Chargers, center Corey Linsley agree to five-year, $62.5M deal. (via @MikeGarafolo + @TomPelissero) pic.twitter.com/rAfPpf7Oh5 — NFL (@NFL) March 15, 2021 Former Green Bay Packers center Cory Linsley, who spent all seven years with the team since being drafted in the fifth round in the 2014 NFL Draft, was announced to be signing with the Los Angeles Chargers. Linsley, who was named as a first-team All-Pro in 2020, signed for five years and $62.5 million, which makes him the highest-paid center in the NFL. In Los Angeles, he will be joining a pair of former Buckeyes in defensive end Joey Bosa and wide receiver K.J. Hill. Bosa, like Linsley, is the highest paid player at his position. Another former Ohio State player in running back Carlos Hyde made the move to Jacksonville, where he will reunite with Urban Meyer for 2 years and $6 million, according to multiple reports. Source: Carlos Hyde to the #Jaguars. 2 years $6 mil. — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 15, 2021 Hyde saw limited action in 2020 during his lone season with the Seattle Seahawks, where he rushed 81 times for 356 yards and four touchdowns. • Mike Clay's 2020 NFL Projection Guide
Mike Clay's 2020 NFL Projection Guide Updated: 9/10/2020 Glossary: Page 2-33: Team Projections Page 34-44: QB, RB, WR and TE projections Page 45-48: Category Leader projections Page 49: Projected standings, playoff teams and 2021 draft order Page 50: Projected Strength of Schedule Page 51: Unit Grades Page 52-61: Positional Unit Ranks Understanding the graphics: *The numbers shown are projections for the 2020 NFL regular season (Weeks 1-17). *Some columns may not seem to be adding up correctly, but this is simply a product of rounding. The totals you see are correct. *Looking for sortable projections by position or category? Check out the projections tab inside the ESPN Fantasy game. *'Team stat rankings' is where each team is projected to finish in the category that is shown. *'Unit Grades' is not related to fantasy football and is an objective ranking of each team at 10 key positions. The overall grades are weighted based on positional importance. The scale is 4.0 (best) to 0.1 (worst). A full rundown of Unit Grades can be found on page 51. *'Strength of Schedule Ranking' is based on 2020 rosters (not 2019 team record). '1' is easiest and '32' hardest. See the full list on page 50. *Note that prior to the official release of the NFL schedule (generally late April/early May), the schedule shown includes the correct opponents, but the order is random *Have a question?
