Women & Children (Boys&Girls <18 years) Men 18 years and above Highlights ● On 08 April 2014, AFAD - the Disaster and Emergency Management Agency of Government of Turkey - announced that the total number of Syrians registered and assisted in 22 camps located in 10 provinces was 223,731. AFAD reported that during the period of 07-08 April 2014, a total of 158 Syrians were admitted and registered in the camps and 225 Syrians have voluntarily returned to Syria.

● Local officials in Batman confirmed that they have received the Mobile Coordination Center Malatya which was initially sent to Mardin Nusabin but later was transferred to Batman. Provincial Beydagi AFAD Officials informed that they are still working on some technical requirements for the 7,154 registration and expecting the Center to be operational in the coming weeks.

● Local authorities in Batman informed UNHCR that the estimated number of Syrians in Batman is more than 20,000, most of whom are living in the city center while some few K.Maras thousands may be in the surrounding villages. Of this estimation, about 18,000 have been Adıyaman enumerated and registered by the local officials and about 1,200 have been issued ikamets Merkez Merkez (temporary residence permit).
