Primary Shareholders R. Andrews (significant interest), S. Lathbury (significant interest) J. Holcroft, J. Kingslake, D. Baxter, M. Newbold Good afternoon everyone and welcome to The Lamb for today's Southern Premier League fixture with Royston Town. Hopefully we can look forward to good game and we wish our visitors a safe journey home this evening.

It has been a tough week for us with the league defeat at Alvechurch followed by our FA Cup exit - the 6-1 defeat at Oxford City - in midweek. I thought we started off quite well on Tuesday night, for 20 minutes. We had opportunities but didn't score and they went ahead. After that, some of the goals we conceded were disappointing and would never have happened in a billion years last season. It was frustrating and tough to take but I look at the Oxford side and they have had nine of the XI players start every game so far for them this season and it does make a difference. For us, the amount of injuries we are faced with right now is phenomenal and it's frustrating because you feel in less control. We are going into every game at the moment having to make four or five changes and it's so difficult when you have to deal with that level of change.

When you look at the team last season, we were consistent, not just in terms of results, but in terms of team selection. We had 12 or 13 players who were consistently involved in games but at the moment we are having to do something that doesn't sit well with me. We are signing players because we have so many out with injuries, illness, suspension. I'm not making excuses but it is a massive factor because the team is changing all the time. I think the least amount of changes we have had to make so far from one game to another is four.

Another factor for me has been the inability to train. That's where my strength is, on the training ground, working with the players. But we have had one training session in the last few weeks because we have been playing Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday.

Last year, our games and performances came out of our coaching and organisation and we are not able to do that at the moment and it's harder to put our stamp on the team. So they are factors which have killed us as a group in these past few weeks. It's not a disaster though. We have lost one game in the league out of five. It is certainly not all doom and gloom. It's very reparable and the lads have done brilliantly in the main, digging out results. We will manage things as best we can and we will come out of it stronger. We have time now to do some training, get some shape work in and find that consistency.

We have signed Chris Cox back this week and he is a welcome addition. He is a talker, great one v one defender and he's good in air. We had difference of opinions last season and he left but we had a good chat and it is now water under the bridge. This is a fresh start for him. He wanted to come back in and it'll be good to have him on board. He can do well for us.

We will focus on Royston now. It's going to be a tough game and we will have to pick up the lads. It might take a few weeks to fully solve the injury problems and we need more work on the training pitch because I don't feel we are playing the football we were last season.

But we have got to stick in there and we'll come out of a challenging spell stronger.

Enjoy the game, Andrew Danylyszyn

FA Cup update Our Emirates FA Cup 3rd Round Qualifying tie on Tuesday night unfortunately, but necessarily - to comply with guidelines for games involving clubs in step 2 and above - had to be played behind closed doors due to the current restrictions imposed on ‘Elite’ football clubs. We hope you that were able to enjoy the coverage either streamed by Oxford City, or provided by our own LambsMedia team but unfortunately it didn’t see us progress to the next round. Harry Hanslow is pictured with his Oxford City counterpart before providing full match commentary to the live streamed match.

Welcome To The Lamb Before our trip to we added three players to the squad.

23-year-old winger Chay Tilt, had originally signed a one year deal with Macclesfield in September before their expulsion from the National League, and adds pace to the Lambs squad. Not only can Chay play on either wing, but he is also equally at home as an attacking midfielder in the number ten role. He spent his youth career at West Bromwich Albion, and went on to sign first year professional terms at The Hawthorns before moving south to join Queens Park Rangers. Having been released from Loftus Road in the summer of 2019, Chay spent the 2019/20 campaign with . He made twenty-five starts for The Glassboys scoring ten goals and provided four assists in the process. His impressive displays caught the eye of several EFL clubs - which led to a trial at Sky Bet League One side Shrewsbury Town back in January.

Ben Hart (pictured right at Alvechurch) played two games on loan from Burton Albion last season. The 20 years old has already made his EFL debut for The Brewers and signed a new contract at the Pirelli Stadium in the summer (squad number 26). Ben will be with us until 6th January.

Tom Armitage is a member of the Brewers first team squad (number 29) having signed a contract in the summer and will enjoy playing for his home town club at the Lamb. The 17 year old left back graduated through the ranks at the Albion and his loan is initially until 31st October. WELCOME BACK CHRIS!

Chris Cox, pictured right, last season, admitted he never wanted to leave Tamworth and says his decision to re-sign for the club was a ‘no-brainer.’

The former Stratford Town defender penned a new deal at the Lamb, after leaving the club last season due to personal reasons. After working previously with the Lambs’ Head of Senior Football Thomas Baillie at Stratford Town, Cox revealed a discussion with his former boss persuaded him to come back. Now he’s targeting a repeat of last season’s promotion push.

‘I’ve always wanted to come back, I never really wanted to leave,’ he said, ‘Thomas [Baillie] knew I had a lot of stuff going on in the background at the time I was here before and that took priority a bit and got in the way of football.

‘Sometimes that happens where your personal life takes over. I spoke to Thomas recently and he seemed keen to bring me back – Smudger and Andrew seemed keen too so it’s a no-brainer really to come back and get going again. You don’t turn up to lose, you turn up to win and that’s all that matters. The club needs to be back where it was The club deserves to be in the league and with the ambition and the conversations I’ve had with the management team, we’re only heading that way. ‘It will take a bit of time to get things right but if we’re given that time, it will come.’

Cox joins at the perfect time for Gary Smith and Andrew Danylyszyn who have a squad riddled with injuries and illness. Defenders Jordan Gough, Joe Magunda and Henri Wilder were all missing in Tuesday night’s 6-1 FA Cup defeat to Oxford City which Cox was forced to watch from the side-lines due to being cup tied, and he wants to make an immediate impact.

Cox said: ‘Who doesn’t want to turn up and play football? I’ll definitely be wanting to get fit, get out there and get on the ball when I get chance.

‘The fans saw only a little bit last time I was here. I’m pretty confident in myself and once I’m fit and ’I ve settled in again, they can expect something – I probably owe it to them a little bit.’ Moving to a Cashless Stadium

The Covid pandemic has seen many changes to the way we go about our daily lives. One area that has changed quite drastically is our use of cash. There are now many places that will only accept the use of a card or your mobile device in order to reduce the spread of the virus. It is no different for us here at the Lamb, however, with the guidelines that have been enforced on us to enable a maximum of 600 supporters to return to the Lamb, there is plenty of work for us to do.

The technology required to enable a totally cashless stadium requires an online ticket portal, a high quality broadband connection and point to point wifi across the ground linking the offices, advanced QR readers at the turnstiles, offices, community areas and card readers.

We have made the first move with the online ticket portal. This provides supporters with the convenience of purchasing tickets in advance to secure their place at the game and also ensure the club has all the details required for the Government’s track and trace programme. It is our intention to open a matchday ticket office, hopefully this weekend, and once we have completed the installation of the new technologies we will we will be selling tickets and asking supporters to install the NHS, or our own, app or supply their details to ensure track and trace. Card payments will then also become the preferred payment method for the VIP lounge, clubhouse and food outlets around the ground.

Buying tickets online is a simple process at https://thelambs.ktckts.com Purchasing match tickets takes less than 2 minutes, with e-tickets delivered in PDF format via email, which you can either print off and just use your smartphone for scanning at the turnstiles.

You will need to create an account on the ticketing portal to purchase your tickets

If purchasing a ticket on the site on behalf of another family member/friend etc. after clicking on ASSIGN ATTENDEES, then click on EDIT DETAILS to provide the name of the person using the other ticket for track and trace purposes.

After clicking CONFIRM & PAY you will have one final chance to check everything is in order before making your credit or debit card payment.

After completing your ticket purchase, you will receive an order confirmation by email, quickly followed by the tickets on a separate e-mail as a PDF attachment, both sent from BOX OFFICE. Either print the tickets off or download the match tickets PDF to your smartphone and present it at the turnstile.

We will keep supporters updated via the program and website about our continued move to a cashless stadium. The new broadband system will also bring match day benefits for supporters too - watch this space for future announcements!

A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to our new floodlight fundraising scheme over the summer: Mario Gouci, Gordan Hargrave, Martin Leckie, Jim McCarthy, Tom Pegg, Jack Smith, Andrew Turland

Coming into existence in 1875, Royston are the third oldest club in Hertfordshire after Hitchin and Bishop Stortford.

The club’s very first honour came in 1911-12 when they won the Creake Charity Shield beating Wisbech 1-0 in extra time.

Their first major honour in more recent times came in the guise of promotion to the Herts County Premier League in 1969/70 and they went on to be champions in 1972-73 and 1976-77. In 1978 the club rejoined the South League and won the Division One title at the first time of asking. Success continued with a final appearance in the Herts Charity Shield for the first time in 1979 and runners up spot in the South Midlands League Premier Division in 1980.

The Herts Charity Shield was won in 1981-82 and two years later the club joined the Isthmian League Division Two North where we remained for 10 seasons before returning to the South Midlands League in 1994.

After a period in the doldrums, which culminated in relegation from the South Midlands League Premier Division at the end of 2006-07, Paul Attfield was appointed manager with ex-Spurs favourite Tony Galvin returning to Garden Walk as first-team coach in November 2007.

Attfield immediately set about building a new squad and a run of 17 games undefeated saw the club move from bottom of the table to finish in fifth place in the League.

The foundations had been laid for the 2008-09 season and the first team took the South Midlands Division One League title with one of the best set of stats for any Step Six Club in the country, winning 33 and drawing four of 40 games with a goal difference of +108 and 103 points.

The 2011-2012 season is seen as a watershed in Royston’s history with the winning of the South Midlands Premier Division title and promotion to Step Four and the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central. In their first season back at Step Four after an absence of 19 years, Royston exceeded all expectations, narrowly missing out on a play-off place. In their second season at the level, steady progress to claim a place in the play -off zone was given a severe jolt when, at the beginning of November, Paul Attfield announced his resignation as first team manager due to ill health. Steve Castle officially took over, securing a 0-0 draw against the League’s form team and eventual champions Dunstable Town.

The 2014-15 season proved a roller coaster with Royston eventually achieving the runners up spot to league champions Town, securing their place in the play- off semi-finals where they met local rivals Barton Rovers. After an incident packed 90 minutes and extra time the game ended in a goalless draw but it was not to be their night and they lost the shoot-out 5-4.Royston started the 2015-16 season strongly and between the end of December and the end of March they produced a rich vein of form with only one defeat in 14 games. It ensured Royston were sitting on top of the league with just seven games to go.

However they ended up finishing runners-up and they again suffered play-off heartbreak, losing to AFC Rushden. Castle was determined to make it third time lucky and began to recruit some experienced new blood in the shape of John Frendo and Adam Murray whilst at the same time giving youngsters runs in the first team.

The season didn’t start well but an incredible run of 16 league games undefeated, including a 5-0 thrashing of closest rivals Farnborough saw Royston maintain the top spot until the end of the season by a margin of 12 points and the highest number of goals scored, 120, across all three Evostik Leagues.

Promotion to the Southern League Premier Division Central at the end of season 2016-17 meant that the club was playing at its highest level in its 142- year history. The 2017-18 campaign saw The Crows exceed all expectations in their first season at Step Three as they secured a seventh-place finish while 2018-19 saw them finish in a respectable ninth position in what proved to be a very strong Premier Division Central.

Royston were well set to challenge for the title in the season that never was, proving a close challenger to Tamworth, and will now be looking to push on this campaign. Danny Green (Midfield): Joined in December 2018 from Chesham United. Danny is an experienced midfielder whose other previous clubs include St Albans City and Dunstable Town.

Jonny Edwards (Forward): Signed for the Crows at the beginning of this season and made an immediate impact with four goals in the first competitive game of the season. After leaving the Stevenage Academy, Jonny impressed within the United youth set-up to earn himself a professional contract, making his first-team debut in 2015. He then spent time at Accrington Stanley, Woking, Halifax Town and Maidstone United after leaving Peterborough.

Brandon Adams (Forward): Brandon spent four years at Queens Park Rangers which included loan deals at Malaysian club Perlis and Linfield in Northern Ireland. After leaving the R’s in 2018, he dropped into non-league hoping to catch the eye of pro clubs and has certainty impressed. Josh Williams (Forward): Signed for the Crows this season after spending last season at Ware, Josh scored 17 goals in 30 appearances. He previously played for FC Romania.

Isaac Galliford (Forward): Previously with Hitchin Town, St Neots Town and Hemel Hempstead after starting out with Luton Town, Isaac signed for Royston at the beginning of this season. Whilst with The Canaries, Isaac’s performances earned him an ‘C’ call-up.

This week, we did a raffle for two people to win a free match ticket for this Saturday’s home game. The winners were ticket numbers are 325 and 313.

We will be doing a draw for two more tickets to the Biggleswade Town game. Please look out on our Facebook page for the winners.

TFCSC Hello everyone and welcome to our latest update on the TeamBuilder fund.

We hope you are all keeping safe and following the Covid rules for both your safety and the safety of others. The pandemic has caused everyone a few headaches and problems with regard to fundraising and Team Builder is no exception.

We have not managed to hold our Annual General Meeting yet and therefore not been able to create a new committee to oversee the fund. Nevertheless the present committee, which comprises; Clive Tomlinson, Dave Gould, Jim Beestone, Andrew Turland and Teresa and Brian Whitehouse, continues to operate the fund and we continue to support the First team management team with additional funds.

We have had a few new members join us since March which is good news but we were all saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend Chris Bradshaw. We are sure you all miss such a wonderful guy who was a great supporter of many aspects of club life, including Team Builder.

We are continuing to ask you the fans of Tamworth FC to join us in supporting the managerial team. You can do this in 3 different ways

1. Set up a standing order via you bank for £10 a month 2. Make a one off donation to the fund by cheque or cash 3. Make a bank transfer to Team Builder – you will need the funds bank details to do this and they can be obtained by phoning 07973713494.

Finally, we would like to thank all of our contributors who have continued to support the Teambuilder fund despite us through the lockdown and into this new season;
