o PINDARI GLACIER o C O ABOUT M E E Easier than most of the other glaciers, it is not possible to have confronted challenges X of Himalayas and not being aware of it. A delight to be trekked to witness 5 km of length and 2.5 km of width, this glacier is exquisite sight to revere. Even families can jointly take the trip P and find some time to bond under the refuge of “mighty abode of snow”. L To look at this particular icy monolith, one has to direct his eyes between Nanda Devi and Nandakot mountains and he would be able to witness the beauty there. The glacier is also O responsible for the origin of Pindari river that flows to meet river Alaknanda and goes on to R become river Ganges later. The route generally takes from Bageshwar followed by song and Loharkhet before reaching E Dhakuri from where the actual trekking commences. The route takes one through small vil- lages namely, Khati, Dwali and Phurkiya. This is one opportunity to lock in for lifetime. Reaching zero point of Pindari glacier is one thing, but the return journey could be made L more interesting by adding to the list attraction like confluences of Saryu and Gomti, Bagnath E temple, Bajinath and kafni glacier if time allows, that too in the month of April to July and sep to Oct.
