Volunteer Board of Directors a message from our board president Welcome to Place Maillardville Community Centre! We are a non-profit organization offering recreation programs and services for the residents of Maillardville and the surrounding area. Partially funded by the City of Coquitlam, the Centre has provided high-quality programming from the existing building since 2001.

Our volunteers (including our volunteer Board of Directors) and our dedicated staff work hard throughout the year to ensure that our Centre remains relevant and provides programs and services that meet the needs of this culturally diverse community.

The project to replace the existing Community Centre building is getting closer every day. Construction is slated to begin in the spring of 2020. We are excited about the opportunities this fabulous new building will provide and the new programs and services that it will offer to the community.

Also, take a few moments to read over the list of the programs we will be offering for the coming season. We think you will be pleasantly surprised and are likely to find something that will interest you and your family. We offer programs for everyone, from the very young all the way up to our active seniors programs, and all age groups in between.

If you need further info check out our website www.placemaillardville.ca or drop in and talk to one of our friendly staff who will be pleased to assist you and offer you a tour of our facility.

As well, we are always on the lookout for enthusiastic community volunteers and are developing a Community Centre “membership” model for those who want to get more involved in what we do. It is an exciting time for all of us, and we look forward to working closely with this Community as the reality of a new Centre nears. For more information on Board of Directors and Membership opportunities, please contact us at [email protected]. Their efforts culminated in a vibrant, strong and successful family-centred community with residents in Anmore, Belcarra, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody.

Together, the committees created and continue to engage in initiatives that have helped build a solid foundation for our community to move forward in solidarity towards child and family wellness in the Tri-Cities. These include:

• Live 5210 Play Box Program and Unplug and Connect campaign • Children's Accord and Children's Charter of Rights • Champions awards events recognizing businesses, agencies and individuals making a difference • Professional Development Workshops for front line child care professionals • Resources that help inform our community
