UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON SYSTEM Understanding the UH System Structure The UH System is comprised of four SEPARATE universities, each with its own budget: UH, UHCL, UHD, UHV Renu Khator has a dual role as chancellor of the UH System and president of UH. The UHS Board of Regents oversees all four universities. Students within the UH System do not take classes at other UHS universities unless they are co-enrolled in two separate universities. UH System Board of Regents All four UHS universities operate additional locations where they offer Chancellor Renu Khator their respective students classes taught by their respective faculty, as charted below. These are locations, they are not universities. UH Sugar Land and UH Katy are not universities, they are locations for UH students to take UH classes taught by UH faculty. UH students can attend classes in Sugar Land but they are enrolled at the University of Houston. UH Sugar Land is a location where UH offers classes. There is no "main campus" or "central campus." "The University of Houston" is located at Cullen and I-45. The University of Houston uses UH, not "UofH" or "U of H." It is inaccurate to identify a UHCL, UHD or UHV professor as a "University of Houston" professor. They are separate universities. The new facility in Katy will house UH Katy and UHV Katy (separate programs/enrollment). The site in Katy is a location for programs to be delivered, not a new university..
