3 Secretary Report

Three junior titles and three senior titles give a clear indication of another successful year for KRCC. KRCC has also received club of the year for 2015-16 season. This year we have 11 junior teams and 5 senior teams in the competition. We have junior team in every division of the competition. Two junior teams remain undefeated in 205-16 season. Whilst all committee members, coaches and volunteers work together as a unit, they are also working in their own area of expertise to ensure the future of our club. This year 35 junior players, increased from 30 last year from KRCC have selected in the BC&DCA Junior representative squad for year 2014-15. Three KRCC players have selected in the NSW Emerging Blues squad and two KRCC players have selected in NSW PSSA state side for national competition. Congratulations to all kids who made to Representative District Cricket, NSW PSSA state side and Emerging Blues squad. We have 9 junior teams in the finals this year which is indeed a great achievement for a young club. Congratulations to junior kids for their achievement this year and successful season. Many thanks to junior coaches, junior coordinator Mark Wallington and Club coach Jason Blanchard for job well done. Mr Ryan Hutton is our Senior Team Co-ordinator and he has done exceptional job to manage five senior teams this year. I would like to congratulate the premiers and senior teams who made it to the final. Club has also conducted the various activities this year with the help of committee members, volunteers, patents and sponsors such as Mcgrath foundation. This year Sponsors have shown their trust in KRCC activities and backed KRCC with their continual sponsorship. Huge thanks to all sponsors without their exceptional support in the club, these activities will not be achieved at all. I take this opportunity to thank Mr Rod Yendle, Mr Jason Blanchard, Mr Daniel Miller, Ryan Hutton and Mark Wallington for their persistent efforts towards all club activities from planning, organizing and implementing perspective. Also I would like to thank Ms Annupa Ahi and Trecy Curruthers for helping the club in the various activities. Look forward to see club to continually set new standards every year and continue to be active in its activities and organized events.

I hope you have a wonderful off season. Look forward to see you next year!!!

4 Treasurers Report

Season 2015/2016 has been another good one for our club .We managed to win six titles for the season. There was also 4 other sides who made the Final but were unsuccessful. We just missed out on winning the Senior Club Championship but managed to win the Junior Club Championship for the 4 th time in 9 years. Our numbers held steady this year, as we again fielded 16 teams. In juniors we fielded teams in every competition as well as 2 in some divisions. This is the first year where we have not gained extra teams however that is a blessing as I’m not sure where we would be able find extra grounds for them. It is also not ideal to have two Kellyville Ridge teams in one competition as it means there is one side who cannot win a competition. This year we were able to support the McGrath Foundation’s Pink Stumps Day. It is great to see the great community spirit that this worthy cause brings out in our club. I would like to thank all of our great sponsors who without their support would make this job a lot tougher and would increase our fees by a great deal. Due to not having the costs for the presentation detailed financial figures cannot be provided to go into this yearbook. The financial report will be tabled at the AGM for those who wish to view it. Thanks to everyone for making this season great. Thanks also for making Belleville Ridge one of the biggest but far and away the best club in our district.

Daniel Miller

Treasurer

Kellyville Ridge Cricket Club.

5 Milo In2cricket And Mini Big Bash

Another great year for our Milo kids. With over 80 participants across the in2Cricket and Mini Big Bash programs, Thursday nights at Conor Greasby Reserve were bussing with activity. Our biggest group this year was our 4-6 year olds, many of whom participated for the first time. Feedback from parents was great, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the term. The program represents a great platform for our club, as many of these kids go on to play in our junior sides. These programs would not be possible without the support of some of our seniors, who take time out to assist with coaching. Big thanks must go to assistant coordinator John Borg as well as Warren Bullivant and Anish Luthra who assisted throughout the term.

Additionally, to the volunteers who assisted in the canteen each Thursday, thank you again for your support.

We look forward to another successful year in 2016.

6 Juniors

7 U10’s Division 2

Our U10s Division 2 team. We had at least six close loses (including 1 run loss game in last bowl and 1 loss in a game) which could have changed our position but I am proud of the team and how far they have come specially finishing on high thrashing the grand final winner with easy win in the last round game.

All the team players have improved in all the area and no. of wins have been team effort. Some of the highlight includes Max and Gurnoor scoring runs in the early part of the comp with Dhaval, Mansukh and Mehrab supporting them with getting runs in the second half of the comp. Gurnoor retiring at 23 three times in a row.

Team has improved in bowling drastically from bowling 60+ extras in some of the first few games with getting the teams all out under 50 towards the end. Some of the bowling highlight include Mansukh getting 3/5 in his 4 overs against Blacktown city, with Arin and Vidun conceding only 1 run in their 4 overs. Vidun finished with 11 and got support from all in bowling with Gurnoor and Arin bowling tight spells. Babek with his harbhajan singh style spin bowling got few wickets by confusing few batsman and Tom was disciplined bowling stump to stump straight bowling.

The Team improved on their fielding as competition progressed with Vidun and Dhaval getting max run outs and catches with support from Max, Gurnoor, Mehrab, Kyle, Mikalya with their wicket keeping. It was surprising to see superb keeping in odd matches from Mehrab, and Kyle with very little training. Neil improved his bowling action along the way and was good at striking few good shots when he got opportunity.

I enjoyed coaching the team thoroughly and am sure they would progress to achieve new highs in the next season.

8 U10 Division 1

The side was made up of the kids who stayed back from the two under 10’s side from last year plus a couple of new faces. This meant that there was two coaches, Gavin and me. At the beginning of the season we had some mixed results with two heavy loses against Plumpton due to our bowling not firing on the other hand our was awesome (like it has been all season). As the season progressed our bowling become more accurate and lethal with our three strike bowlers - Samuel, Jasreet and Nathan getting their line and length right and with the help of David Freedman’s coaching developed Bradley and Jayleen as our spinners. When it came to playing Plumpton again the kids were more focused and determined not to be beaten. The game progressed well for us having bowled Plumpton out for 51 runs in 19 overs with our lethal 3 taking 6 wickets between them. When it came to bat we were 3 down for 47 runs after 15 overs before rain washed out the game, the kids felt hard done by pleading with me not call the game off. The games against the other sides went well, with the kids winning all them bar one. The side was well prepared for the semis unfortunately we lost to Blacktown by a few runs in a really tight match. The kids were upset they didn’t make it to the final round but both Gavin and myself were really proud of their determination and good sportsmanship. Gavin and I would like to thank Tracey for Managing the side and for doing the scoring along with her father. Finally I would also like to thank the kids for making this my best season of coaching. Not only did they try hard on game day they conducted themselves with great sportsmanship. Haydon Coverdale: Very good batsman who had the ability to play both sides of the wicket, also had the rare gift of playing reverse shots. Haydon’s batting average was quite impressive at 36.4 and 182 runs for the season. In the field he excelled at wicket keeping and playing deep midwicket /square leg. As a medium pace bowler the team was able to rely on him to come in after our main bowlers to cause havoc, this can been seen by Haydon taking the third most wickets for the season. Jaylen Mallawatchy: Very good batsmen who had the ability to play both sides of the wicket and had a good defensive game. Jaylen batting average was very good at 32.20 and 161 runs for the season. In the field Jaylen was our number one wicket keeper. When he wasn’t keeping he was taking a couple of screamers in the slips. As a bowler he provided us with leg spin bowling which would turn a mile. Bradley Carruthers: Developed into a fine batsmen who nearly won the semi-final for us. Bradley average was a respectable 11.5 and 92 runs for the season. All round fielder who took 4 catches. Number one spinner who came in after our pace attack to give the batsman a false sense of hope only to knock them over. Was averaging 1-2 wickets a game Ranuga Jayaweera: As a batsman had a good all round game. Ranuga’s batting average was a respectable 10.13 and 81 runs. All round fielder who didn’t complain where he was placed. Medium pace bowler who would come in after our pace attack to mesmerise the opposition with he’s ability to swing the ball. Adhithya Krishna: Solid batsmen who achieved a high score of 18 runs. 51 runs for the season. All round fielder who was able to chase down the ball quick. Took 4 catches.Medium pace swing bowler who we could hand the ball to keep the runs downs. Took 9 wickets with an economy rate of 2.14 Nathan Ademovic: Solid batsman who improved through the season. Averaged 8.83, 53 runs. In the field he excelled, this was evident with him taking 4 catchers and 5 run outs. Fast bowler who most of the time came in at first change or opened. Was part of the lethal three. Took the second most wickets at 15 and had the best economy rate of 1.66

9 Samuel Freedman: Solid batsman who improved towards the back end of the season. Averaged 6.71 and 47 runs All round fielder who had a radar arm when it comes to running out batsman. 4 catches.Left arm fast bowler who would most of the time open. Was part of the lethal three. Took the most wickets at 17 and had the second best economy rate 1.78 Praas Shah: Solid hitter of the ball who played his shots right. Solid average of 15 and 60 runs for the season. Handy fielder who played in a number of positions. Medium pace bowler who improved as the season progressed. 3 wickets at economy rate of 3.05 Jaspreet Mann: Had a slow start to the season but developed into a solid batsman. Averaged 6.25 and 50 runs for the season. Took some good catches in the deep and also having one of the safest pair of hands. 6 catches 1 run out. Fast bowler who would open most of the time. Was part of the lethal three. Took 13 wickets economy of 2.41. Shiven Chappidi: Solid hitter of the ball, had a good end of season form. 43 runs @ average of 7.17. Always gave 100% in the field and will only get better in the coming seasons. Shivens bowling improved greatly as the season progressed 3 wickets economy rate of 3.38 Braydon Carruthers: Good overall batsman who had a very strong defensive game. 103 runs @ 6.06. Best fielding position was at either square leg or backward of square due to ability to run out opposition batsman and his good catching ability. 2 catches 2 run outs. Improved immensely with his bowling. 4 wickets economy of 2.99 Daniel Sinclair: Unconventional style of batsmen who surprised me every time he batted. Been one of our top 5 batsman he was able to contribute on many occasions. 74 runs @ 12.33. Held he’s own in the field with some handy contributions. 3 catches 1 runout. A developing bowler who was playing above his age, will improve next year as this was his first season. Ethan Perera: Tried very hard on his batting technique at home, training and the game. His efforts will be rewarded in the future. Always gave 100% in the field with worthwhile contributions. Medium pace bowler who improved as the season progressed. His semi- final was outstanding with the ball - 1 maiden, 1 wicket with only 3 runs conceded. 7 wickets economy rate of 2.

10 U11’s Division 1 Blue

The boys had a good season with some mixed results. The team came together this season with some new faces and different levels of experience and skill.

We struggled throughout the season to get all the boys to training and field a full team but the boys that did play never gave up and displayed great sportsmanship and team spirit.

Our boys this season were:

Lachlen Hawkes - great season with the bat, power and speed. Very capable fielder and excellent Captain /Leader.

Michael Du Plooy - Most improved with bat, tactful batsman with excellent placement and patience. Finish the season with the most runs for the team. Damaging fast bowler and very reliable in the field.

Abhaypal Singh - The most technical batsman in the team, wonderful to watch and secured his maiden 50 retirement with class. Outstanding spin bowler and inspiring Leader

Ashton Coverdale - continued to improve all facets of his game this season, excellent & unpredictable left hand bowler, fast and consistent in the field and continued to grow with bat contributing week after week.

Blaze Johnston-Ockers - our Player of the Season, topped the Bowling and Fielding awards and the batting average, incredible season by a passionate and busy player. Blaze is a brilliant fielder, very impressive spin bowler and has a lot of ability with the bat.

Sid Dixit - Our most improved player with both the ball and bat. Sid is a very good fast bowler and gained a lot of confidence with the bat as the season progressed. Always at training and games and a pleasure to Coach as he always wants to improve

Maverick Wells - One of our new faces and gelled with the boys instantly. Maverick improved with every game and enjoyed bowling and fielding, ending the season with the 2nd highest wickets. Practice with the bat and increased confidence will see Maverick become an all rounder

Abeer Rawal - Another new player to the team, Abeer really tries hard and improved throughout the season. Abeer contributed with the bat and ball and always participated in the team developing week by week. Our boys made the semi final only to lose in a nail biter, great season from a great bunch of boys. Thank you to all our wonderful parents, grandparents and supporters. Awesome Coach, Riaan and all my Dad's for umpiring!

Leonie Team Manager & Scorer

12 U11’s Division 1 Silver

The Under 11 Silver team finished the season as undefeated premiers which was an amazing achievement! The boys fought hard every game to keep their winning streak and won a number of close matches after being behind at various points of those matches. All the boys can be incredibly proud of their efforts, and every boy improved his cricket as the season went on.

It truly was a team effort throughout the season, so to mention particular players wouldn't tell the story of this season. Everyone will look back and remember the season they shared with their teammates. Congratulations to all the boys for their achievements throughout the year - every catch, wicket, boundary, run and fielding effort added up to an outstanding result and the club is very proud of you all. We hope to see you each continue enjoying and developing your cricket in the seasons to come.

13 U12 Division 1 (Rod)

Ethan Grace: co-captain of the team who inspired his team-mates, leading from the front. Whilst Ethan scored his first ever century (101 not out) in the home and away season, his innings in the semi-final against Glenwood Black, where he scored 60, was perhaps the most significant and mature. Led all-comers in the Champion Player data rankings, where he compiled a staggering 113.2 points: 512 runs at 73.1 avg., 11 wickets with an economy rate of 1.8, and 17 catches in the field, some spectacular where he covered enormous ground. A record 152 run partnership with Hayden McDonald against Blacktown White.

Hayden McDonald: co-captain of the team, contributing in all facets of the game. 5th in the Champion Player data rankings with 68.6 points, scoring 3 x 50’s, averaging 38.3 with the bat and taking 12 wickets for the season. Hayden, who played up an age-group this year, showed maturity in his leadership and communication skills, setting strong, attacking fields to produce results. Hayden often opening the innings, taking the shine off the ball for the middle order. A mature batsman with a superb pull shot and a great runner between the wickets. A record 152 run partnership with Ethan Grace against Blacktown White.

Nathan Clarke: a superb rookie season for Nathan who constantly inspired his team-mates with passion, energy and enthusiasm, both during training sessions and on game day. A jack of all trades, Nathan performed well as wicket-keeper, off-spinner (medium pace, on occasions), in the field and with the bat. A superb rear-guard innings in the grand-final, Nathan scored 29 not out and almost single-handedly won the game in the dying overs. Best bowling of 5 for 7 in trying, wet, soggy conditions where he was still able to spin the ball, producing good line and length. 20 wickets for the season which helped him secure 15th position in the Champion Player data rankings.

Veron Mehta: a wonderful season from Veron who put fear into many a batsman with his pace bowling. 16 superb wickets for the season, often bowling the bastman, Veron constantly worked on his run-up and found the rhythm he was searching for towards the back end of the season, contributing in the final series. Veron was also capable with the bat, steering the team to several wins with some equisite leg sides shots for 4. 26th in the Champion Player data rankings with 30.8 points

Om Patel: one of the best line and length bowlers in the competition, Om was rewarded with representative duties this season. Best bowling figures of 4-0, Om often tore opposition batting line-ups apart. Om also contributed with the bat, with a highest score of 32, coming in late against Glenwood Red to secure a win for the team. 31st in the Champion Player data rankings with 26.7 points.

Maalav Joshi: a capable player in the field and made ‘point’ his own. MJ partnered with many batsmen throughout the season, holding up one end with solid defensive efforts, enabling partnerships to build and placing scorebook pressure on the opposition. 35th in the Champion Player data rankings with 24.4 points, MJ took 14 wickets for the season, with a highest score of 20 with the bat.

Jack Shedden: following an injury early in the season, Jack returned to the squad an inspired player. A much improved bowler who perplexed many a batsman with his in- swing, line and length. 10 wickets for the season with best figures of 2-0. Jack’s

14 determination and passion to contribute are a credit to him – he trained as hard as he played. 36th in the Champion Player data rankings with 21.4 points. A pleasure to coach.

Reece McClifty: one of the most improved players in the team, across all facets of the game. Reece contributed with ball and bat, taking 3 wickets for the season and developing an exceptional leg-side glance, scoring 5 runs in the semi-final. Reece became an extremely capable slips fielder, taking some blinders on occasion that normally would have gone to ground. A pleasure to coach, Reece always listened intently and worked tirelessly on his game, seeking to improve week to week.

Gurveer Singhota: one of the most improved players in the team for the season, especially with the ball. Gurveer developed into a superb line and length bowler and ended up opening the bowling in both the semi-final and grand-final due to his ability to swing the ball away from the right-handed batsman, at pace – a massive improvement compared to when he joined the team at the beginning of the season. Gurveer will also be remembered for a spectacular one-handed catch against Plumpton where he effortlessly plucked the ball from the air.

Nicholas Sweeney: a solid contributor to the team with the ability to swing the ball the most, 2-3 feet at times, taking the ball from outside leg stump and swinging it past the batsman outside off-stump – many of Nick’s balls were unplayable and it would of taken somone like Don Bradman to get an edge on them. Nick steered the team to victory on several occasions with a dogged 11 against Blacktown White and 10 against Kellyville Ridge Silver where he batted inspired, hitting the ball to all parts of the ground on both occasions.

Rameth Kosgodage: earnt the nick-name ‘Warnie’ due to his ability to bowl superb leg- spinners. An unbelievable talent, able to place the ball in a specific area on the pitch time and time again, frustating opposition bastmen into false shots. Rameth often opened the bowling with his trusty leg-spinners, securing early wickets for the team.

Jack Lees: took an amazing 3 catches in one game, the first of which was a reflex catch the likes of Alan Border and Mark Waugh would have been delighted with. Jack improved over the course of the season, learning the techniques and intricacies of the game, especially fielding. His improvement with the ball was exceptional from game 1 to the last, where he managed and learnt to dart the ball past the bastman towards the end of the season.

\Harkaran Singh: another player who contributed with the ball over the course of the season, taking 4 wickets. Improved in the field and with the bat throughout the season and saw off several overs in the grand-final, partnering with Nathan Clarke to almost pinch victory. A polite young man who was keen to improve and contribute each week.

15 16 U12 Division 1

Under 12 ones Well they say things come in threes and Grand Finals have done so for us. Our First year was a disappointing 2nd at year end, followed up but what would be an easy second year win. This year thanks to our other Ridgy Under 12 side we had a drama packed finish to the Grand Final that could have gone either way and did several times during the game. The boys had mixed feelings going into this year’s final knowing that we had been beaten twice already this year by the narrowest of margins by the other team. As with last year we worked on maximising our rotation throughout the year and the team went from strength to strength as the season progressed. We did lose a few games by taking this technique throughout the year but it did pay off once we got to the finals with every player stepping up to do their part and when I say it was a team effort I mean that. A few of the highlight stats that need to be mentioned although there were many are:

1. The one and only 5 wicket hall – Ethan Zuliani 2. 10 wickets or more bowling for year – Ethan Zuliani (27), Cameron Wallington (19), Alexander Smith (16), and Nicholas Freedman (11).

3. Most catches – Alexander Smith (7) Aikaansh Ahi (6) and Mitchell Wright (6) 4. Unassisted run outs – Alexander Smith (2) and Nicholas Freedman (2) 5. Highest run accumulation – Ethan Zuliani (190) and Cameron Wallington (152) 6. Wicket keeper catches – Matthew Campbell (3), Rishi Gannamani (2), Mitchell Wright (1), Sumarth Talati (1) and Alex Smith (1) This year we only managed to finish in third place with the draw not really going our way. We always knew if we could be in the finals then we could compete and win. The only worry we were conscious of was what the weather would do over finals weekends. Luckily for us both Semi-Final and Grand Final weekends were fantastic. The Semi-Final was once again against Plumpton who have been great competition for us over the past three years. As like last year Plumpton sent us into bat and we were all out for 159 runs. We started out 3 for 2 runs and not looking good. Then not long after that we were 8 for 66 and I am sure that Plumpton had it in their minds they were looking at changing last year’s result. But they did not count on both Lachlan and Aaron stepping up and putting on a great partnership which got the team to a respectable 159. It was then our bowlers who once again did their job and bowled Plumpton all out for 91 off 41 overs and on to another Grand-Final berth we headed.

The Grand-Final this year was a little different as we were coming up against our own club and team mates which on two occasions this season had beaten us by the narrowest of margins so we knew that it was going to be a good game. It did not disappoint as the game went down to the wire with both teams in it until the end. Once again we were sent to bat first after losing the toss and we put on 113 runs of 52 overs. Were 113 runs enough; 17 we had to back our bowling and fielding to come through knowing that Kellyville Blue had some good bats in their team. The boys never once gave up on the thought they could win and claimed the last wicket and the Grand Final win with only 5 minutes and 5 runs needed from them to go. The never say die attitude and the teams belief in one another truly shined this year and I think as a coach they inspired me and should be proud of each other. Well done Ethan, Alexander, Mitchell, Avi, Parth, Nicholas, Samarth, Matthew, Lachlan, John, Cameron, Aaron, and Rishi for another great season and a second Grand Final win. I would like to personally thank David Freedman for helping with the coaching of the boys this year as well as umpire duties, Craig Wright for his colourful scoring each week. A big thank you for the support of all the parents throughout the season. Shaun Smith Under 12 Div1 Coach 2015-2016.

18 U14 Division 3

It was great pleasure to coach the boys during the season, from humble beginings we were able to finish the season in second place with 7 wins, behind Doonside on 47 points.

Round 1 saw us playing Doonside, with a narrow loss 12 runs, highlight for the match was an unbeaten 40 no by Syed, with Own and Vivian picking up 1 wicket each. Round 2 was our first win of the season beating Glenwood by 4 runs, our bowling was led by Able taking 2/25, chasing down 93 runs, we had an even batting performance with score from Vivian 11, Copper 19 and than 11, supported by sundries of 44!

With bye on the following round, we waiting for Round 4 to come our way, with a loss of momentum versus Rooty Hill, batting first Syed 17 and Tehan 17 enabled us to set a score of 86 in the first innings. With an evening bowling performance across the team, with 6 bowlers each picking up 1 wicket each, we went down 5 wickets. The following week in round 5 we took on The Ponds and narrowly our first outright win of the season, The Ponds batting first set 69 runs, with 2 wickets each to Syed and Aaron, however we were able to quickly amass 114 runs, through solid batting from Owen 23, Tehan 25 and Will 16. With 17 overs left in the day, we sent The Ponds back in taking 9/22, with Owen taking 4/1, Vivian 2/4 and Andrew 2/3 off 3 overs each. This led to the internal grudge match, Blue vs Silver in round 6, taking on the much fancied Silver Team, the Blue Battlers secured 96 first inning runs, led by Tehan 19, Syed and Aaron 15 a piece. Silver was bowled out for 85 runs, with Owen 3/17 and Aaron 3/13 the highlights of the bowlers. Much to the teams disappointment the yearly regarding, saw us moved into Division 3. Taking on Workers in round 7, batting first a score of 81 runs, with Tehan 15, Will 14 and Cooper 18, was always going to be a challenge to defend. Workers cried to a 6 wicket victory, with Owen the best of the bowlers taking 2/20.

Round 8 saw the team back on the winners list, setting 104 runs in the first inning, Tehan 35, Syed and Aaron 19 runs each, laid a solid foundation for our bowlers. With an even spread of wickets across Aaron 2/13, Darcy 2/13 and Andrew 2/7 a close fought 5 run victory was secured. With our confidence on the rise we took on The Ponds again in Round 9, the boys made a solid 120, led by Syed 43 runs,Will 12, Darcy 15. Our bowlers performed again across the board, led by Owen 3/1, Ryan 3/15 and Copper 2/13. Leading into Christmas, Round 10, saw us taking on Plumpton, batting first we set a total of 97 runs with Tehan 28 top scoring, supported by Aaron 18 and Will 13. Plumpton batted well scoring 105 off their 20 overs, with Aaron 2/9 and Andre 2/10 the best of our bowlers. Into the new year and Round 11, we faced off against Glenwood, winning the toss and batting first, we set a total of 87 runs, with Cooper top scoring with 20no. With an even spread across the bowlers, Owen 2/11 and Andrew 2/6 led the way, but victory was secured through our fielding with 3 run outs delivering a 8 run victory.

Round 12, was a challenging game against Doonside. All out for 27 runs in the first innings made victory a distant possibility. However the boys fought hard to restrict Doonside to 134 off 40 overs, Andrew leading the bowlers with 3/39 off 10 overs. Sent back in to face 43 overs, the boys were determined not to allow an outright defeat. Syed batted beautifully under immense pressure to make 44 runs, assisted by Tehan with 12 runs. It was a great lesson for the boys on the importance of defence and patience. The final regular season game, against The Ponds was a fantastic comeback by the boys, learning from the previous week, the boys batted exceptionally well to amass 154 runs, led by Syed 66, Aaron 32 and Darcy 21. With all the boys getting a bowl, Will led the way with 2/12.

The Semi Final against Glenwood, is day very few will forget. It was a pleasure to watch one of the most flawless, yet brutal innings I have seen in Junior cricket. Syed came in at 1/21, batted throughout the innings, hitting 20 fours and making 171 not out. He was supported throughout the innings by Vivian 39, Tehan 11 and Darcy 15no. With 294 runs on the board, we again spread the bowling across the 10 players, with Syed taking 3 wickets and Glenwood all out for 117.

Brimming with confidence we entered into the Grand Final against Plumpton. Winning the toss and batting first, we quickly found ourselves in big trouble losing 5 wickets for 5 runs, decimating our top order. Syed was batting with confidence, but was unfortunately ran out for 16 runs. Setting 49 runs to win, was always going to be a challenge. The boys fought hard, bowling tightly restricting Plumpton to 1.8 runs an over, battling it out to the end. Sole wicket taker for the day being Andrew with 1/5 off 8 overs.

The stand out performers of the year were:

19 Batting Runs Agg & Average - Syed Kashif 449 runs @ 34.54

Bowling Agg & Average - Owen Penny 20 wks @ 7.80

Coaches Award - Tehan Vidanarachchi

Fielding Award - Cooper Nolland - 11 catches & r run outs

Most Improved - Darcy Cushion

I am tremendous proud of the progress of all the boys throughout the year, particularly the younger boys, who embraced training, developed their skills and contributed to the teams success every week. As a team we should also recognise Cooper, who was our captain throughout the majority of the season, Cooper always placed the needs of the team and his team mates before his own game, he was a tremendous support to the team and myself. Finally, thank-=you to all the parents that supported the team during the year, Glenn our team manager, Nick and David our regular scorers, and Phil who stepped-up and coached early in season.

Thanks for the water balloon bath at the end of season, good luck to the boys moving into under 16’s next season, I look forward to coaching next year under 14’s.

We had a good season reaching the grand final against Blacktown Workers and we fell just short in a thrilling game. Throughout the season, our bowling was stronger than our batting and our stand out bowlers were Aman and Ryan who were ably backed up by Chris, Om, Aryan, Prathik, Praneel, Raghav and Jordan. Jayden did a great job as wicket keeper and also added some valuable runs. Jayden was ably backed up as wicket keeper by Chris and Sav. Our batting improved throughout the year with some good contributions from Aman, Jordan, Chris, Aryan, Sav, Daniel, Om and Raghav. Our fielding was magnificent at times with special mention for Chris, Daniel and Raghav. Others to shine in the field were Prathik and Ryan. Aman deserves special mention taking two 5 wicket hauls. The most improved player was Praneel although all of the boys improved.

What a Champion Team!!!!!

I think I have repeated myself the past couple of years but nothing makes me prouder then seeing how this bunch of young men come together as a team and play week in week out for each other, for me as a coach there is not a more satisfying feeling. While we are so very proud of the team, there were also some fantastic individual moments throughout the year as well. Gaurav topping the batting average for the under 14 division 1 competition, Ishwa topping the wickets for averages and most wickets for the competition, Elias taking 13 catches, who could forget Tehan power hitting to 88 against Doonside. We had Marcus, Ronin, Rayman, Vignesh and Kunj who managed to raise their bats for a 50. Tanvir picked up a great 5 wicket inning and we had great support in the field from Yuvraj and Rakin. A couple of highlight moments came at the end of the season in our Semi Final match, Kunj took a superb catch on the boundary to save the team at least another 30 runs to chase and then with the match slowly slipping away Tanvir came into bat and blasted 24 from 12 balls to put us right back in the game where Kunj and Ishwa brought us home. The last was in the Grand Final after a great bowling and fielding display on day one from the whole team, we turned up on day two looking for a real fight but from ball 1 Gaurav (70no) and Vignesh (65no) took the game away from Rooty Hill to finish 0/152 and premiers for 2015/2106. Thank you to Devang for being manager, Rajesh for being assistant coach and Heather for her fantastic scoring. To all the parents and grandparents thank you so much for your help and the support you gave to the team, whether it was helping set up the field, warm up the boys or what was ever needed, I know how much it means to them having you down at the ground each week. (Thanks for the shade again this year Warren).

22 U16 Division 2

The Under 16 2nd Division team performed to it's ability and reached the semi finals. The competition was reasonably strong across the board. The team payed the price for inconsistent performances and should have finished further up the leader board, however, with some late dogged performances from the likes of Kieran and Liam saw us make the semi finals. During the course of the year Jai, Taran and Logan ensured that the runs were always on the board. Aniket bowled without luck all year and should have got more wickets. Farhaan was always reliable when opening the bowling. Our semi final loss had few highlights. Alamdar with a late batting charge almost got us to the post. All in all, the team performed to it's ability and finished in the competition most likely where it deserved. Thanks to Abishek who got respect as a Captain.

This season I had asked to be able to coach our Under 16s division 1 side. Having been involved with a majority of the players for the last four years from when I first coached they 23 U16 Division 1

in the under 14s division 3 where we finished joint premiers. Half of the side had played in the division 1 side last year and with some fine additions to the team, I had really expected that we would dominate the competition this season. However we ended up fighting for 4th spot which we made by 0.003 of a quotient point. The equivalent of losing or taking 1 wicket. There were some strong performances throughout the year when everything came together and the team were focused on the game but this happened all too infrequently. Too often players would want to get involved in the mental side by sledging forgetting that there was still a game going on around them. The most memorable game of the season would have been our semi-final against the minor premiers Plumpton. The first day went perfectly, we won the toss, decided to bat and put on 197 in 59 overs. Bhavish, Binat & Asuntha scored the bulk of the runs with cameos from Arien & Aash. On the second day with a great total to defend the bowlers did a great job to restrict Plumpton to 111. All our bowlers did well with 6 different wicket takers. Unfortunately we came up against our nemesis Blacktown Workers in the final. In the past 4 seasons we had only managed to get one win and a tie against them. As the old saying goes ‘catches win matches’ and early on we put down a catch down off one of their openers and didn’t get another until he was on 93. Our batting wasn’t quite up to scratch and just didn’t get there in the end. Our season awards are as follows: - Batting Aggregate – Dean Sweeney 304 runs - Batting Average – Ayush Arora 27.00 - & Aggregate – Aash Velhal 16 wickets at 13.25 - 50’s: Dean Sweeny 59, Ayush Arora 58*, Binat Sahni 53 & Bhavish Sharma 52. I wish everyone the best and hope to see you all next year. Daniel Miller

The 2015/16 season saw the club fielding 5 teams in the 2nd, 5th, 6th, 9th and 10th grade competitions. 24 Senior Report

Every side remained competitive throughout the season, and provided each player with an opportunity to contribute at various stages during the year to the overall team performance.

Our second grade side narrowly missed out on the finals, having won 4 matches and remarkably, 2 consecutive “ties” during the season, and ultimately a wash-out late in the season probably cost them a place in the semi final.

Our 5th grade side was a combination of last seasons premiership winning 8th grade team, and players from our 2nd grade team, as well as some new faces. A mixed season which included an outright win, and a 1 run loss, the team made the semi finals, and a captains knock led them to victory and a spot in the final. Unfortunately the team lost in a tight one, but can take a lot of positives out of the season.

Our 6th grade side had a great season, winning a majority of their matches during the regular season. A comprehensive win in the semi final set up their place in the grand final. Things weren’t as easy in the final with a not out century in Bidwill’s innings resulting in a tight 5 run win to our boys.

The 9th grade side had a reat year, being a newly put together team. A controversial moment mid season, with accusations that they fielded a Pakistani Test player, threatened to derail the season, however the team rallied and in a tight matches played in the semi-final and grand final, the team took out the title.

A combination of youth and experience (old blokes) made up the 10th grade side who played consistently throughout the year. The team was arguably held up by club president Rod Yendle, taking 43 wickets during the season which included a grand final bowling spell of 28 consecutive overs, taking 9 for 58 – with Rod still dirty he didn’t take all 10 and sending him into retirement (or so he says).

Overall, as a club, we performed well with 4 out 5 sides making the grand finals, and winning 3 of these. We look forward to all of our seniors returning next season for another tilt at the title. A big thank you to the captains and in particular Briggsy who assisted in running the senior sides this season. 2nd grade report

25 2nd Grade

The 2015/16 season was a mixed bag of performances and after a long season the results didn’t match the potential. The season involved only the four victories which just wasn’t enough to make the finals, the fact we had two ties in a row really summed up our year. There was a number of individual performances this year that really stood out and they are as follows. Batting:

Michael Norford - 521 runs at 47.36 including five 50’s

Matt Scoular - 262 runs at 29.11 including two 50’s

Tim Leyshon - 186 runs at 20.67 including two 50’s

Bowling:

Max Cushion – 16 wickets at 14.19

Matthew Bullivant – 16 wickets at 14.81

Brad Clare – 15 wickets at 11.00

Fielding:

Peter Arnold – 12 catches 1 stumping

Tim Leyshon – 9 catches

There were many great performances this year and just not enough room to name everybody thank you all for a great season and I hope to see you all back for 2016/17.

26 6th Grade

The 2015/16 season ended being a very special year for 6 th grade by not only finishing minor premiers, but winning the grand final.

Players: Jason (Frank) Turnbull- captain, Josh (Mooshy) Singh- vice captain, Michael (Chook) Waddington keeper, Mark (Foo) Farrugia, Nathan (Brooksy) Brooks, Gaurav (Gaz) Patyal, Kirk (Kirky) Buckley, William (Billy) Elmer, Jack (Jacko) Ham, Pat (Patty) Ham, Daniel (Cray) Craven, Bryce (Brycey) Green, Warren (Waz) Bullivant manager. The grand final was set up the game before in the semi against Doonside at Harvey Park with us in deep trouble at 4/23 then Pat (89) and Mark (87) giving us a total of 218 to defend. Mark (5/68), Billy (3/28) and Frank (2/32) saw us through to the final, with some excellent fielding including “the catch” by Coon.

Grand Final v Bidwill Bowling first against Bidwell started well, with only 10 runs from the first 5 overs. Captain Frank aggravated his back and was out of the attack early on, so Bryce (2/28) and Mark (4/31) lifted their efforts bowling with good line and length. A mixture of bowlers followed not letting Bidwill control the innings and when the ball was tossed to Cray (3/28) the innings was wrapped up at 150. Batting started off in a blaze of glory down 3/18 after 8 overs. Frank and Mark steadied things for a while getting us to 80, then Pat and Mark looked in control until the score hit 115. Losing 4/4 and only 2 left in the bank, Mark (67) and Cray (21) got us across the line with only a handful of overs to go. Congrats guys on a great year.

27 9th Grade

Our 9th grade side this season was a combination of new players to the club, and a mix of players from our 8th and 10th grade sides from last year. After a wash-out and a loss, the team picked up momentum, winning 5 in a row. The semi final was the most bizarre match to win a spot in the final. A first innings total of 68, led by a top score of 12 by Abdullah (our Pakistani Test cricketer) put the team in a challenging position. However tight bowling secured first innings points, and a 4 and a half hour batting performance in the second innings put the team through to the finals.

The final was just as exciting. Setting a target of 159, led by a stellar batting display from Muneesh with 76, the Plumpton innings started well for us, with 2 quick wickets. Two middle order partnerships of 50 and 45 put the game in the balance heading into tea.

The tea break however, proved to be the defining moment in the match, with our boys rallying (thanks to side line support from our 6th grade team who had just won their final) to take the final 7 wickets for only 19 runs. During the season, all players stepped up when needed, and it was good to see that at different times during matches and the season, everyone played a roll in achieving the premiership win.

28 10th Grade

10th Grade Premiers At 7/37 in our Semi Final vs the team coming Second ( we had not beaton) who would of thought we could pull ourselves out of trouble and win a Premiership! That day Jason Grima 31, Bhavish Gholi 18 and Ben Blanchard 57 got us to 146. We rolled City for 78 after Rod Yendle 5/35, Scott Woods 5/19 and an inspired catch by Ethan Barry. So we go the Grand Final hoping we had learnt from the Semi Final only to bat first and be 7/61 and needing Daniel Miller 40 not out and Bhavish Gholi 19 to get a total of 142. Then wow Rod Yendle 9 wickets for 58 runs off 28 overs with great support from Scott Woods and Ben Blanchard at the other end won us the game! Over the season we won 9 games lost 4 finished 3rd with great contributions from the below: - Paul Schadel 288 runs at average of 36 – 3 50s Mr Consistency - Scott Woods averaged 34 and hit a match winning 140 - Harrison Baber averaged 22 and hit a great 100 plus 9 catches 4 stumping’s - Jarryd Higgs’ 173 runs in his first full season in seniors Our Bowling was really all about Rod Yendle 43 Wickets at 7.09 and Scott Woods 15 wickets at 11.80 Ethan and Paul both took 9 important wickets I want to thank all the boys for a great year and personally I achieved a goal of playing in a Premiership team with my son Benjamin which is a moment we will hold as a very special memory in our family. Thank you Scott so much for keeping us organised! The core group that have stayed together because we enjoy each other company, have fun, play cricket and maybe win the occasional game!
