Backgrounder Building Pride Fall 2009 Adjudication
Applicants receiving funding under Building Pride:
1. Frenchman Butte Historical Society is receiving $5,000 for the Steele’s Scouts Commemorative Cavalry to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the 1885 North West Resistance;
2. Friends of the Regina Public Library is receiving $8,100 for the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Regina Public Library;
3. The Indigenous Peoples Program is receiving $10,000 for a special event to celebrate the cultural achievements of First Nations and Métis youth;
4. Jasper Culture and Historical Centre will receive $16,000 to celebrate the centennial of the Jasper Cultural and Historical Centre Building;
5. The Kelstern Community Church Anniversary Committee will receive $2,000 for the centennial of the Kelstern Community Church;
6. The Lobstick Golf Club Inc., a non-profit corporation that operates the Waskesiu Golf Course, will receive $22,000 for a legacy project to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Waskesiu Golf Course;
7. The Maple Creek Heritage District will receive $5,000 for the Heritage Day Festival in Maple Creek;
8. Marr Residence Management Board will receive $10,000 for the commemoration of the role played by the Marr Residence during the 1885 North West Resistance;
9. The Moose Jaw Central Collegiate Institute Anniversary Committee will receive $3,000 for the school’s centennial celebrations;
10. The Nutana 100 Committee is receiving $4,300 for the centennial celebrations of Nutana Collegiate Institute;
11. The Original Humboldt Committee is receiving $15,300 for commemoration of the role played by the Humboldt Telegraph Station in the 1885 North West Resistance;
12. Polonia Polish Folk Dance Ensemble is receiving $12,575 for celebrations surrounding a Polish Folk Dancing Festival;
13. Poundmaker Cree Nation Historical Association is receiving $45,000 for the commemoration of the Battle of Cut Knife, also known as the Battle of Poundmaker, as part of the 125th anniversary of the 1885 North West Resistance;

14. RielCo Productions is receiving $25,000 to stage a special tour of the play The Trial of Louis Riel in 2010 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the trial of Louis Riel.
15. The Saskatchewan African-Canadian Heritage Museum is receiving $40,000 for celebrations relating to the 100th anniversary of African-Canadian settlement in Saskatchewan;
16. Saskatchewan History and Folklore Society will receive $14,000 for the staging of Chautauqua events in several communities;
17. Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club Inc., in partnership with Football Saskatchewan and the Dunlop and MacKenzie Art Galleries, will receive $60,000 to help celebrate the 2010 centennial of professional football in Saskatchewan;
18. The Stanley Mission Reserve, part of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band will receive $85,000 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Holy Trinity Anglican Church;
19. Souris School of Weyburn will receive $4,200 for centennial celebrations;
20. Swift Current Fire Department is receiving $2,500 for centennial celebrations;
21. Yevshan Ukrainian Folk Ballet is receiving $10,975 for their 50th anniversary celebrations;
22. Town of Allan is receiving $5,000 for centennial celebrations;
23. Town & RM of Kindersley are receiving $7,500 for their combined centennial celebrations;
24. Town of Radville is receiving $5,000 for centennial celebrations;
25. Village of Aylesbury is receiving $2,500 for centennial celebrations;
26. Village of Zenon Park is receiving $5,000 for centennial celebrations;
27. Rural Municipality of Brokenshell is receiving $2,000 for centennial celebrations;
28. Rural Municipality of Lakeview is receiving $2,500 for centennial celebrations; and
29. Rural Municipality of Prairie Rose is receiving $5,000 for centennial celebrations.
