3Dup.com - The Computer Graphics Portal Clash of the Titans Teaser Trailer Filming began in April 2009 for Release on March 26, 2010 November 14, 2009 - 02:33 Clash of the Titans is an upcoming 2010 fantasy film which is a remake of the 1981 film of the same name, itself loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus. The film is directed by Louis Leterrier and stars Sam Worthington. The music will be composed by Craig Armstrong. Matt Bellamy from Muse has also stated that he will be working on the music. In the film, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Neeson) and unleash hell on Earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.div.overlay { width:1040px; height:504px; } #imgplay { margin:46px 0px 0px 190px; } #player { background:no-repeat url('/videos/news/2009/november/titans.jpg') top center; } #splash, #player, #player embed, #player object { width:560px; height:257px; } The Clash of the Titans remake began development in 2002 under producer Adam Schroeder and writers John Glenn and Travis Wright. -

The Phenomenological Aesthetics of the French Action Film
Les Sensations fortes: The phenomenological aesthetics of the French action film DISSERTATION Presented in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of The Ohio State University By Matthew Alexander Roesch Graduate Program in French and Italian The Ohio State University 2017 Dissertation Committee: Margaret Flinn, Advisor Patrick Bray Dana Renga Copyrighted by Matthew Alexander Roesch 2017 Abstract This dissertation treats les sensations fortes, or “thrills”, that can be accessed through the experience of viewing a French action film. Throughout the last few decades, French cinema has produced an increasing number of “genre” films, a trend that is remarked by the appearance of more generic variety and the increased labeling of these films – as generic variety – in France. Regardless of the critical or even public support for these projects, these films engage in a spectatorial experience that is unique to the action genre. But how do these films accomplish their experiential phenomenology? Starting with the appearance of Luc Besson in the 1980s, and following with the increased hybrid mixing of the genre with other popular genres, as well as the recurrence of sequels in the 2000s and 2010s, action films portray a growing emphasis on the importance of the film experience and its relation to everyday life. Rather than being direct copies of Hollywood or Hong Kong action cinema, French films are uniquely sensational based on their spectacular visuals, their narrative tendencies, and their presentation of the corporeal form. Relying on a phenomenological examination of the action film filtered through the philosophical texts of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Paul Ricoeur, Mikel Dufrenne, and Jean- Luc Marion, in this dissertation I show that French action cinema is pre-eminently concerned with the thrill that comes from the experience, and less concerned with a ii political or ideological commentary on the state of French culture or cinema. -

Neil Davidge
Neil Davidge COMPOSER As co-writer and key sonic facilitator on the lauded Massive Attack albums Mezzanine, 100th Window and Heligoland, Bristol, England's Neil Davidge has been integral in birthing some of the most arresting and innovative sounds of the Nineties and Noughties. He has also enjoyed a parallel career composing for Film and Television. His early venture into the world of film scoring included The Storm That Brought You To Me, from Louis Leterrier's 2010 fantasy film Clash Of the Titans, and his co-write score for Trouble The Water, a moving study of Hurricane Katrina victims that won the ‘Best Documentary’ gong at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Following that, Neil won over an entirely new audience in 2012 with Microsoft / 343 Industries - the company behind famed multi-million-selling franchise Halo - who commissioned him to write the score for the quantum leap in fun-filled alien slaughter that is Halo 4. The soundtrack went on to sell over 90,000 albums, 120,000 downloads and was the highest charting game soundtrack ever in the US billboard charts. The stellar success of Halo 4 resulted in further movie score work including the 2014 Henrik Ruben Genz movie Good People starring Kate Hudson and James Franco, the Tom Green directed Monsters: Dark Continent, and the 2015 Canal Plus 10-part thriller TV series Spotless starring Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton and Rachel McAdams. In 2017 Neil scored several highly coveted BBC1 dramas including the Anthony Horowitz TV series New Blood, the BBC four-part drama In The Dark, and new 2018 Jim Sturgess/ Agyness Deyne pre-apocalyptic thrilled Hard Sun. -

Clash of the Titans is a 2010 action-adventure, fantasy film and remake of the 1981 film of the same name (the rights to which had been acquired by Warner Bros. in 1996). The story is very loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus.[2][3][4] Directed by Louis Leterrier and starringSam Worthington. The film was originally set for standard release on March 26, 2010.[3][4]However, it was later announced that the film would be converted to 3D and was released on April 2, 2010.[5][6] Contents [hide] • 1 Plot o 1.1 Alternative endings o 1.2 Other deleted scenes • 2 Cast • 3 Production o 3.1 Conversion to 3D o 3.2 Filming locations • 4 Release o 4.1 Soundtrack o 4.2 Critical reception o 4.3 Box office o 4.4 Home video • 5 Video game • 6 Sequel • 7 References • 8 External links [edit]Plot In ancient times, the gods, led by Zeus (Liam Neeson), Poseidon (Danny Huston) and Hades (Ralph Fiennes), betrayed their parents, the Titans, and banished them to the Underworld with the help of the Kraken, a monster born of Hades' flesh. The gods divided the Universe between themselves; Zeus took the skies, Poseidon took the seas, and Hades tricked by Zeus, left with the Underworld. The gods created the mortals, whose faith fueled their immortality. However, as time passed, mortals began to question the gods. The story resumes with a fisherman by name of Spyros (Pete Postlethwaite) finding a casket, bearing a baby and his mother’s corpse, afloat in the sea.
