SWBC’s President, Gary Dudley and Chairman, Charlie Amato, formed SWBC with $1500 of starting capital. Today, SWBC is an international diversified financial services company providing a wide range of , mortgage and investment services to businesses, families and financial institutions. With offices across the country, the company has more than 2,000 employees. And, throughout the company’s history, there has always been a focus on providing outstanding customer service and running the business with integrity. Both Amato and Dudley admit that even though SWBC is a privately held company, they run it like it is publicly traded. Prior to joining the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Ng served as the director of epilepsy and chief of child neurology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He also held the Presbyterian Health Foundation Chair of Child Neurology. Dr. Ng earned his medical degree from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. His professional training continued as he completed fellowships in epilepsy and pediatric neurology at University of Medical School at Houston. Dr. Ng is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians/Pediatricians and is board certified in neurology with special qualification in child neurology and has additional board certifications in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed original scientific journal articles, editorials and book chapters and is an associate editor for the journal Pediatric Neurology. “I am sincerely honored and humbled to receive this extremely generous endowment gift from SWBC,” shared Ng. “I accepted my position as the Chief of Neurology because of the excitement and genuine, dynamic expansion and progress of San Antonio's first free-standing Children's Hospital in partnership with Baylor College of Medicine. I didn’t have prior knowledge of this Chair, so this endowment is truly the icing on the cake. I am confident we'll be able to build one of the best child neurology sections in the world and believe we're already halfway there with a team of five child neurologists and a comprehensive epilepsy program to follow. This gift will help us continue to grow.”
