Kohere Coordinator of Music Education September,. 1984 Members of the Board of Education: The 1983-84 school year was one in which the diligent efforts of our students, staff and Board received much recognition. The elementary schools were distinguished by the excellent scores of their students on the Iowa and Nutley Achievement Tests. Franklin School was honored in general by academic achievement and in particular by the Mathematics Department being cited by the Northeast Regional Exchange as one of thirty exemplary programs in the nation. -

Board of Education June 25, 2002 Nutley, New Jersey The Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of the Township of Nutley, New Jersey was held in the Radcliffe School Multi-Purpose Room, 379 Bloom- field Avenue, on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at 8:12 p.m. with Mr. John Cafone, President, presiding. ANNOUNCEMENT OF MEETING: Mr. Cafone read the following: "According to the provisions of the 'Open Public Meetings Act' (Chapter 231, P.L. 1975), proper notice of this Regular Meeting was provided in the Annual Notice of April 29, 2002. Said Notice was: 1. Posted at the entrance of the Board Office. 2. Mailed to The Nutley Sun, the Star Ledger, the North Jersey Herald & News and the Nutley Journal. 3. Mailed to the Nutley Township Clerk. "Formal action will be taken." FLAG SALUTE: The meeting was opened with Mr. Cafone leading the Board members and citizens in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag. CALL OF ROLL: The other members present at roll call were: Mrs. Maria Alamo, Dr. Phillip T. Casale, Mr. Gerard Del Tufo, Mr. Alan Genitempo, Mr. Sal Olivo, Dr. Gerard M. Parisi and Mr. Joseph C. Pelaia. Absent: Mr. Alfred R. Restaino, Jr. Approximately 100 citizens were present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Copies of the minutes of the Regular Meeting held on May 29, 2002 at 8:17 p.m. being in the hands of each member, reading of same was dispensed. Indicators of academic success such as the Nutley Achievement, HSPT, Iowa and SAT tests revealed that our students and staff achieved in a highly commendable manner. As in the past, we are also pleased with our number of NMSQT,Garden State and Governor's Scholars. Once again our seventh grade students excel led in the Johns Hopkins University Talent search in the mathematics and verbal areas. Also, Nutley athletes and musicians distinguished themselves with numerous awards. -

Kohere Coordinator of Music Education September, 1985 Members of the Board of Education: The 1984/1985 school year was most rewarding. Once again, the efforts of our students, staff and Board were commendable. The results of the Iowa and Nutley Achievement Tests taken by our elementary and Franklin School students were truly excellent. The Franklin School mathematics team placed fourth in the state in the Mathcounts Competition and our high school students scored very well on the New Jersey Minimum Basic Skills and high school proficiency tests. Also, it is important to note that 51.4% of our graduating seniors will attend four year colleges in September while 8.2% will attend two year colleges and 6.6% will attend business and technical schools. -
