Welcome to the Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional and Continuing Education (LiPACE), the Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK). This Handbook is intended to provide you with useful information and guidance relating to your study at LiPACE in a direct and expeditious way. It is our Institute’s policy to use e-communication with students as much as practicable. As a student of LiPACE, you are provided with an email account, through which both the Institute and you can effectively communicate with each other. All announcements to students will also be posted on web. To keep abreast of the most up-to-date information about the Institute and your programme, you are required to activate your email account immediately (see Appendix A), access the Institute’s website and check your email account regularly.

3 2. 關於大學及學院 About OUHK and LiPACE

2.1 香港公開大學自 1989 年成立以來,本著「有教無類、卓越進取」的理念, 一直致力為成年人提供優質及靈活的高等教育機會,包括一百多個深造、學 位、高級文憑及副學士學位課程。大學成立以來更榮獲多項本地及國際獎 項,包括亞洲開放大學協會傑出成就獎、歐盟斯德哥爾摩科技挑戰獎及國際 遠程教育聯會優異機構大獎等,在國際遠程和開放教育領域上建立了領先地 位。大學自 2001 年起開辦全日制面授學位課程,深受中學及副學士畢業生 歡迎,詳情請瀏覽 www.ouhk.edu.hk/FTP。

Since its inception in 1989, the University has striven continuously to achieve its mission of providing high quality and flexible further education opportunities for adults. Currently the University offers more than 100 postgraduate, degree, associate degree and sub-degree programmes. The University’s achievements have been widely recognized by the Government, and local and overseas academic institutions. For example, OUHK received the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) Meritorious Service Award in 2002, the Stockholm Challenge Award in 2000 and The International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) Prize of Excellence for Institutions in 1999, which recognize its leading role in Open and Distance Education. The University has offered full-time face-to-face degree programmes since 2001 which are welcomed by graduates of secondary schools and associate degrees. 2.2 李嘉誠專業進修學院是香港公開大學五所學院之一,自 1992 年 6 月以來, 專門提供專業及持續教育。正如學院的口號「終身學習,豐盛人生」所反映, 本院的使命是推動終身學習,提供靈活而高質素的進修機會,從而幫助學員 提昇自我、發展事業和邁向豐盛人生。

LiPACE is one of the 5 academic units of the OUHK. Since its establishment in June 1992, it has been specializing in professional and continuing education. As reflected by its slogan “Lifelong Learning, Lifelong Enrichment”, the Institute’s mission is to promote and provide flexible and high quality lifelong learning opportunities for personal development, career advancement and appreciation of life.

2.4 現時,學院提供的課程大致可分為下列幾類: a. 全日制課程 : 全日制課程為面授課程,當中包括應用學習課程、毅進文 憑、副學士先修、文憑及高級文憑等。 b. 海外學位課程 : 本院與海外大學(例如英國、澳洲等地)合辦,並由這些 大學頒授的學士和碩士學位之全日制或兼讀制課程。 c. 專業課程 : 這些兼讀面授課程與專業學會(例如香港財務策劃師學會) 合辦,畢業學員可獲本院/或有關專業學會頒發證書或文憑。部份證書和 文憑得到專業學會在申請學會會籍或政府入職註冊的認可,部份更可銜 接其他大學的學士或碩士課程。例如:  個人財務策劃專業文憑 (IFPHK 註冊 CFP 認証教育課程);  職業健康及安全文憑(香港政府勞工處「註冊安全主任」認可課程);  機艙服務專業文憑(與國泰航空合辦)。 d. 在職培訓課程 : 培訓課程為個別機構按需要而設計,當中有不同學科、 不同水平和不同的教學模式。曾由本院安排培訓課程的機構有美國友邦 保險、中銀集團、星展銀行、公務員培訓處、國泰航空、恆生銀行、第 一太平戴維斯(香港)、醫管局、社會福利署、食環署等。 e. 社區學習計劃 : 這是特別為不同群體學習需要而設的非學分制課程,旨 在推廣終身學習。由本院與婦女事務委員會、商業電台及眾多社會服務 團體合辦的婦女學習計劃「自在人生自學計劃」就是一個突出的例子。 此外,本院的「長者學院」也深受長者歡迎。

Currently, the programmes and courses offered by LiPACE can be categorized as follows: a. Full-time Programmes: These are full-time face-to-face programmes which include Applied Learning Courses, Yi Jin Diploma, Pre-Associate Degree, Diploma and Higher Diploma, etc. b. Overseas Degree Programmes: These are undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered in collaboration with non-local universities (e.g. UK and Australia). Students enrolled on these full-time or part-time programmes will be awarded degrees by the non-local partners upon completion of their studies.

5 c. Professional Programmes: These are part-time taught programmes and courses offered in collaboration with professional bodies and/or for developing professional competence. Individual programmes lead to the awards of Certificate and Diploma issued by LiPACE alone or jointly with relevant professional bodies. These awards are widely recognized by professional bodies for membership requirements, by government for registration purposes, and by tertiary institutions for advanced standing. For example,  Professional Diploma in Personal Financial Planning (IFPHK registered CFP certification education programme);  Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (leading to the Registered Safety Officer “RSO” with the Labour Department of the HKSAR);  Professional Diploma in Inflight Service (in collaboration with Cathay Pacific Airways Limited). d. Workplace Training Programmes: Workplace training programmes are arranged at the request of individual companies. Their structure and content can be tailor-made to meet specific training needs. Our workplace clients include AIA, Bank of China Group, Civil Service Training and Development Institute, Cathay Pacific Airways, Hang Seng Bank, Hospital Authority, Social Welfare Department, Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, etc. e. Community Learning Programmes: These are special non-credit-bearing education programmes designed to promote the concept of lifelong learning to specific groups of learners and fulfill their learning needs. A prominent example is the Capacity Building Mileage Programme (CBMP) in collaboration with the Women’s Commission, Hong Kong Commercial Radio and participating non-government organizations. In addition, the Elder Academy project is also welcomed by the elderly.

6 課程資訊 Programme Information

3. 全日制課程學年校曆 Full time Programme Academic Calendar

3.1 本院全日制課程的每一學年分為上、下兩個學期,每學期上課 15 週,另加 1 至 2 週溫習週及 1 至 2 週考試。2013/2014 年度學年上學期的開課日期一 般為 2013 年 9 月 2 日(星期一)(個別課程除外),下學期則於 2014 年 1 月 6 日(星期一) 開課,詳情請參閱附錄 B 的校曆。

The academic year of our full-time programmes is divided into 2 semesters (Semester A and Semester B). Each semester has 15 teaching weeks with 1-2 study weeks and 1-2 weeks for examination. In 2013/2014, Semester A will generally commence on 2 September 2013 (Monday) (except for individual programme) while Semester B will start on 6 January 2014 (Monday). For details, please refer to the Academic Calendar 2013/2014 in Appendix B.

7 4. 毅進文憑課程 Yi Jin Diploma (YJD) Programme

4.1 毅進文憑課程旨在為中六離校生或任何年滿 21 歲人士提供獲取相當於中學 文憑試 5 科(包括中國語文及英國語文科)第 2 級程度學歷的機會。在 2013/2014 學年,學院提供的毅進文憑課程一共有 23 個:

Designed for secondary school leavers and people aged 21 or above, Yi Jin Diploma (YJD) aims to provide a training leading to a qualification comparable to the attainment of Level 2 standard in five subjects including and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination. In the academic year 2013/2014, the Institute offers a total of 23 YJD programmes:

8 4.2 課程目標 Programme Aims

毅進文憑課程的目標為: The YJD programme aims to:

a. 掌握實用的英文和中文知識,並能有效地運用中文和英文與他人溝通; b. 能在日常生活中和學習中運用數字以及信息技術; c. 理解並且獨立地反思當代問題對於個人、社會、國家以及全球造成的影響; d. 主動地追求事業和學業的發展,並能在工作和學習中展現積極主動的態 度; e. 能有效率地工作,並且能在生活、工作中獨立和合作性地處理解決問題; f. 有責任心和公德心,能夠成為一個有個人價值觀和國家及國際認同感的香 港公民; 和 g. 能在工作、學習中運用學到的專業領域知識、技巧。

a. demonstrate functional competence in English and Chinese and be able to communicate their ideas effectively in both languages to other people; b. apply numerical and information technology skills in daily life, employment and further study; c. understand and critically reflect on contemporary issues that impact on daily life at personal, community, national and global levels; d. actively pursue their academic and career aspirations and display positive attitudes towards work and learning; e. work effectively, both independently and in collaboration with others, to solve problems encountered in life, work and study; f. act responsibly as informed, civic-minded citizens of Hong Kong with a sense of personal worth and of their national and global identity; and g. apply knowledge, skills and competencies in a specialized vocational domain to employment or further academic and professional development.

4.3 課程結構 Programme Structure

毅進文憑課程為一年全日制課程,由 5 科核心科目及以 3 科選修科目為一組 的選修群組組成。學員須於同一學院選讀一個選修群組,並完成修讀群組內 所有選修單元,並達到每科最低出席率之 80%,方能獲發毅進文憑畢業證 書。除了中國語文及英文的學時各為 120 小時外,其他科目每科學時為 60 小時,合共 600 小時。核心科目及選修科目詳情如下:

The YJD Programme is a one-year full-time programme. It consists of 5 core courses and a cluster of 3 elective courses. A YJD graduation certificate will only be issued to students who complete all elective courses from the same elective cluster at the same Institute with attendance no less than 80%. YJD has a total of 600 hours, including 60 hours for each course and 120 hours for Chinese and English courses respectively. The programme structure is as follows:

4.4 教學語言 Medium of Instruction 除英文及個別科目外,大部分毅進文憑課程的科目將以中文授課,大部份科 目的教材及評核均為中文。

4.5 畢業證書 Graduation Certificate

學員在課程指定的八個科目中取得合格成績,當中選修科目必須來自同一選 修群組並在本院修讀,並達到每科最低出席率之 80%,方可獲本院頒發「毅 進文憑畢業證書」。證書學歷相當於中學文憑試 5 科(包括中國語文及英國 12 語文科)2 級水平,在升學進修和工作上均得到廣泛認可。

To graduate with the Yi Jin Diploma award, students are required to complete and pass all required 8 courses (with all their completed elective courses from the same elective cluster taken at the same Institute) with attendance no less than 80% in each course. The Yi Jin Diploma is comparable to the attainment of Level 2 standard in five subjects including Chinese Language and English Language in the HKDSE. It is widely recognized for studies and employment.

4.6 課程銜接 Articulation

「毅進文憑」畢業學員符合報讀高級文憑及大學基礎教育文憑課程的學歷要 求。畢業學員可申請直接升讀本院的高級文憑(兩年制)或大學基礎教育文憑 (一年制),再銜接入本院與海外大學合辦的學士學位課程或香港公開大學學 士學位課程。有關毅進文憑課程畢業生的升學銜接階梯,請參閱附錄 C。

YJD graduates meet the minimum admission requirements of Higher Diploma (two years full-time) and Diploma for University Foundation Studies (one year full-time) programmes. They may apply for admission into the Institute’s Higher Diplomas (HD) or Diploma for University Foundation Studies (DUFS) programmes. Upon graduation of HD or DUFS, they may apply for admission into the Institute’s degree programmes in collaboration with overseas universities, or the degrees offered by the OUHK and other institutions. 5.1 副學士先修課程專為毅進計劃課程畢業生和中學會考取得最少 5 科合格(包 括中國語文及英國語文達二/E 級)的同學而設,提供一個全面而有系統的學 術訓練,讓學員有足夠的基礎和能力準備升讀高級文憑、副學士等課程。

Designed for Project Yi Jin (PYJ) programme graduates and those having 5 passes (including a level 2 or grade E in both Chinese Language and English Language) in HKCEE, the Institute’s PAD programmes aim to provide a comprehensive and systematic academic foundation for students to prepare for further study of sub-degree programmes.

學員成功修畢課程所指定的科目及取得合格成績,方可獲本院頒發「副學士 先修課程畢業證書」。

To graduate with the PAD award, students are required to complete and pass all required courses.

5.6 課程銜接 Articulation

「副學士先修課程」畢業學員符合報讀高級文憑、副學士的基本學歷要求。 畢業學員可申請直接銜接入讀本院的高級文憑(兩年制) 或大學基礎教育文 憑(一年制),完成後再申請升讀本院與海外大學合辦的學士學位課程或香港 公開大學學士學位課程;或其他大學的副學士或學位課程。有關副學士先修 課程畢業生的升學銜接階梯,請參閱附錄 C。

Graduates of the PAD programmes generally meet the minimum admission requirements of sub-degree programmes. They may apply for admission into the Institute’s Higher Diploma programmes (two years full-time) or Diploma for University Foundation Studies (one year full-time). HD and DUFS graduates can further progress to Institute’s degree programmes in collaboration with overseas universities, or the degree programmes offered by OUHK, or the sub-degree/degree programmes offered by other institutions. 6.1 文憑課程專為香港中學文憑試畢業生、香港中學會考或毅進計劃課程畢業生 而設,旨在提供學員一個學術與專業並重的基本訓練,為日後升學或就業打 好基礎。學員畢業後,可繼續升讀高級文憑、副學士等課程,也可利用在課 程學到的基本專業知識,從事相關行業的工作。

Designed for HKDSE graduates, HKCEE or Project Yi Jin (PYJ) programme graduates, the Institute’s diploma programmes aim to provide a basic but balanced academic and vocational training to prepare students for work and further study.

Except for individual language courses (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, etc.), all courses will be taught in English. Teaching notes and course assessments are also in English.

7.5 畢業證書 Graduation Certificate

學員成功修畢課程所指定的科目及取得合格成績,方可獲本院頒發有關高 級文憑課程的畢業證書。

To graduate with the Higher Diploma award, students are required to complete and pass all required courses.

25 7.6 課程銜接 Articulation

高級文憑畢業學員符合報讀銜接學士學位課程的基本學歷要求。畢業學員 可申請入讀本院與海外大學合辦的學士學位課程(三年制),畢業學員更可 申請直入部份課程二年班(取錄與否視乎個別海外大學決定)。另外,畢業 學員也可申請升讀香港公開大學學士學位課程或其他大學的銜接學士學位 課程。有關高級文憑課程畢業生的升學銜接階梯,請參閱附錄 C。

Graduates of the Higher Diploma programmes can generally meet the minimum admission requirements of top-up degree programmes. They may apply for admission into the Institute’s degree programmes in collaboration with overseas universities. They may also apply for direct admission to year 2 of individual degree programmes (overseas universities will have the final discretion on student admission), or the degree programmes offered by the OUHK and other institutions. Please refer to Appendix C for the articulation pathway.

26 8. 學科豁免 Exemption Policy

8.1 學員曾於其他獲認可的專上院校成功修畢同級內容的科目或更高程度的科 目,或已通過相關的專業考試,可申請豁免修讀個別科目。本院全日制課程 的豁免上限為不超過整個課程總學院學分的一半。

Students may apply for course exemption based on prior recognized and comparable studies at the same or higher academic level and/or professional examinations. A maximum exemption will not exceed 50% of the total of LiPACE credits of the relevant programme.

8.2 豁免申請須連同相關證明文件 (例如學術或專業資格證書的副本、課程內容 大綱等) 於開課前遞交。逾期申請恕不受理。

Application for exemption must be submitted with supporting evidence (e.g. copies of certificate of academic or professional qualification, syllabus) before semester commencement. Late applications made after the commencement will not be accepted.

8.3 申請人須填妥「全日制課程事項申請表」(FFT008),表格可於本院網頁下載 或向本院辦事處索取。

Applicants are required to fill in the “FTP Course Issues Application Form (FFT008)” which is available from the Institute Office or website.

8.4 按情況而定,申請人或須參加口試、筆試或實際評估,以證明在申請獲批核 前已達到相關學科要求的水平。

Where necessary, applicants may be required to take an oral, written or practical assessment in order to prove that they have achieved the required course standard before approval of their applications.

27 9. 出席率要求 Attendance Requirement

9.1 出席率乃同學修讀課程的其中一個必須符合的要求,遲到或早退都會影響出 席率的計算甚或成績的合格。

Attendance rate is one of the Institute’s full-time programme requirements. Lateness or early departure may affect your attendance and thus programme results.

9.2 本院全日制課程每科的最低出席率為 80%。若無合理原因 (如患病) 而出席 率未能達標的學員,將不頒發合格成績,並須重讀有關科目。

The minimum attendance requirement of each course in full-time programmes is 80%. Students who, without good reasons (e.g. illness), do not meet this requirement will fail the course, and will be required to re-take the course.

9.3 申請缺課請假的學員必須填寫「全日制學生病假/事假申請表」(FFT018),連 同有關證明文件(例如醫生證明)投入本院的收集箱內。學院的收集箱設於荔 景教學中心詢問處外及九龍灣中心 8 樓教員室外以及葵興教學中心。學員提 交的表格必須附有相關科目老師的簽名,否則不予受理。每一份表格只適用 於一科科目的請假申請。如學員需於多科科目中請假,請填寫多份申請表 格。學員如欲申請延期評核(如上/下學期考試)需要有合理理由,申請者 必須填妥「全日制課程事項申請表」(FFT008),連同有關證明文件(例如醫 生證明)於評核後 14 日內提交本院處理。

To apply for absence from classes, students need to fill in “FTP Student Leave Application Form” (FFT018) and submit with relevant supporting documents (e.g. medical certificate) to the Institute’s collection box. The collection boxes are situated outside OUHK-CITA Learning Centre’s Admission Counter and the 8/F staff room at Kowloon Bay Centre, and Kwai Hing Learning Centre. All submitted forms should be signed by the relevant teachers. No unsigned forms will be accepted. Please apply for absence one application form per course. Students who would like to defer their assessment (e.g. Semester A/B examinations) with legitimate reasons need to submit their applications by using the “FTP Course Issues Application Form (FFT008)” with relevant supporting documents (e.g. medical certificate) within 14 days after assessment.

9.4 出席率的計算方法為: a. 遲到或早退少於 15 分鐘者,被視為缺席 15 分鐘計算; b. 每 4 次缺席 15 分鐘等同缺席 1 小時; c. 遲到或早退多於 15 分鐘者,即被視為缺席該節課堂處理。

Lateness or early departure not more than 15 minutes will be counted as absence for 15 minutes. b. 4 times of 15-minute absence will be treated as 1-hour absence. c. Lateness or early departure more than 15 minutes will be taken as absence from relevant class.

29 10. 課程評核和成績證明 Assessment and Academic Transcript

10.1 全日制課程的科目評核一般分為兩部份︰持續評估及考試(全日制課程考 試考生須知請參閱附錄 H)。評核的方式和比重會視乎不同科目而定。同 學可參閱有關科目大綱,並請留意和遵守下列各點。

a. 學員需按個別科目之要求準時提交指定數目的習作。所有欠交的習作一 概評為零分;學院有權拒收任何未經批准而在截止日期後才呈交的學生 作業。 b. 學員不得抄襲他人全份或部分著作;學員不得把別人的作品(無論是全 份或部份)當作自己的作業呈交。 c. 除特別許可的情況外,學員不得呈交與他人聯合撰寫的作業(無論是全 份或部份)。 d. 學員在作業中可參考有關資料或讀物,但必須以引用方式書寫和註明文 獻資料出處。擅自抄襲書籍或文獻內容作為自己創作而不註明資料出處 乃屬欺騙行為。欺騙或企圖欺騙均是嚴重過失,學院會按照大學所制定 的「學術誠信及學生紀律規例」作出處分。

Course assessment is generally divided into two parts: Continuous Assessment and Examination (please refer to Appendix H for Student Guidelines on Full-time Examination). The types and weighting of assessment will vary from course to course. Students can refer to relevant course outline for details. Besides, students need to comply with the following requirements in their assessments:

a. Students are required to submit the required number of assignments on time in each course. A zero mark will be given to those who do not submit a relevant assignment. If an assignment is submitted after the deadline without prior permission, the Institute has the right to reject the assignment. b. Students shall not copy others’ work, either entirely or in part. Students shall not submit the work of others (either entirely or in part) as their own work. c. Except permitted, students shall not submit an assignment or part of an assignment which has been written jointly with other persons. d. Students can make and quote references for their assignments. References need to be shown in citation format and with the source clearly indicated. A student who presumes to plagiarize is considered cheating. Cheating, intentionally or unintentionally, is a serious misconduct and the Institute will take disciplinary actions against an alleged student according to the University’s rules and regulations.

30 10.2 毅進文憑課程科目的合格分數為 50 分; 高級文憑、大學基礎教育文憑、副 學士先修、文憑課程的科目成績評核合格等級點為 2.0。學員在成績達到合 格分數或合格等級點的同時,出席率必須至少達 80%,才被視為通過和修 畢該科目。部份科目或會要求同學須於持續評估及考試皆取得合格成績, 學員務必留意。

For Yi Jin Diploma students, the passing mark is 50. For Higher Diploma, Diploma for University Foundation Studies, Pre-Associate Degree, Diploma students, the passing Grade Point is 2.0. Students are required to achieve at least 50 marks or Grade Point 2.0 and at least 80% attendance in order to pass a course. Individual courses may require students to pass in both continuous assessment and examination.

10.3 高級文憑、大學基礎教育文憑、副學士先修、文憑課程已於 2012-2013 學 年起轉用「成績平均績點」(GPA)評分。這些課程的成績單將顯示科目成 績等級/等級點(Grade Point)、總成績平均績點(cumulative GPA)、畢業成績 平均績點(GGPA)、學期成績平均積點(Term GPA)以及學年成績平均績點 (Yearly GPA)。具體請參閱下表︰

Higher Diploma, Diploma for University Foundation Studies, Pre-Associate Degree, Diplomas have been converted into Grade Point Average (GPA) system starting from the academic year of 2012-2013 that shows individual course letter grades/grade points, the cumulative GPA (CGPA), Term GPA and Yearly GPA, and the Graduation GPA (GGPA) calculated upon graduation on the transcript. Please refer to the table below for details:

10.4 學員的學業成績平均積點(GPA)計算方法如下:所修讀科目(包括不合格科 目)的總學分,除以修畢科目取得的總積點。已成功申請豁免修讀的科目將 不會被計算在 GPA 之內。

The GPA of a student’s course work shall be computed by dividing the total grade points for all courses taken by the total number of credits attempted, inclusive of courses failed. Exempted courses are excluded from the GPA calculation.

10.5 毅進文憑課程將繼續沿用加權平均分(WAM)來計分。課程評分等級如下:

For Yi Jin Diploma (YJD), the grading system of Weighted Average Mark (WAM) remains in use. The assessment of the courses is graded according to the scale below:

All results of assessment are subject to the Institute’s Programme Management Committees’ moderation and approval.

32 10.7 學員如欲申請延期評核需要有合理理由,申請者必須填妥「全日制課程事 項申請表」(FFT008),連同有關證明文件(例如醫生證明)於評核後 14 日內 提交本院處理。

Students who would like to defer their assessment with legitimate reasons need to send in their applications (using the “FTP Course Issues Application Form (FFT008)” with relevant supporting documents (e.g. medical certificate) within 14 days after assessment.

10.8 缺席評核而無合理原因 (例如健康理由)的學員將被給予零分。此外,無法 如期完成評核的學員,成績上將受處罰(例如給予相關評核零分或扣減分 數)。

Zero mark will be given if a student is absent from the assessment without any valid reasons (e.g. medical grounds). In addition, penalty (e.g. zero mark or mark reduction) will be given to those students who do not meet the deadline for assessment.

10.9 為確保課程質素,試卷的批改、監察及學員成績的審批過程需一段時間完 成。成績單/學科成績一般會於考試後約 4 個星期內上載到「學生入門網站」 (MyOUHK-學生)系統。學員可於系統內查閱有關科目的評核成績(詳情請 參閱 18.2 節)。

For the purpose of quality assurance, it takes time to monitor the assessment marking and approve the assessment results. Transcripts/course results will generally be uploaded to Student Portal within 4 weeks after examination. Students could view their academic record via the Student Portal (see Section 18.2).

10.10 除特殊情況(例如分數低於某一水平或出席率不達標),科目不合格的學員 或有一次機會重新評核,重新評核的安排和方式 (如補考) 概由本院課程 管理委員會決定。

Except in special circumstances (e.g. marks below a certain level or attendance below requirement), students who fail in a course may be granted one opportunity to redeem the failure. The Institute’s Programme Management Committee has the discretion to decide the re-assessment opportunity and appropriate forms (e.g. supplementary examination).

33 10.11 通過重新評核的毅進文憑學員最高只能獲發「合格」(D 等) 成績,而其他 文憑、副學士先修及高級文憑課程的學員最高只能獲發「合格」(C 等) 成 績。未能達標的重考學員必須重讀有關科目以完成整個課程。

Grades of Yi Jin Diploma students who pass the re-assessment will be capped at Grade D. Grades of Diploma, Pre-Associate Degree and Higher Diploma students who pass the re-assessment will be capped at Grade C. Students who fail the re-assessment opportunity must retake the course if they want to complete relevant programme.

10.12 學員如對評核成績有所疑問或不滿,可申請成績覆核 ; 申請覆核成績的學 員必須填妥「全日制課程事項申請表」 (FFT008),於成績發放後的兩個星 期內交回本院。申請將由課程管理委員會覆核,學員將於由申請日起計一 個月內收到回覆。

Students who have doubt about their assessment results may appeal and apply for review. Appeal should be made to the Institute’s Programme Management Committee within 2 weeks of the results announcement, using the “FTP Course Issues Application Form (FFT008)”. Students will be notified of the decision within 1 month of the date of the application.

10.13 學院會於學員成功修畢整個課程後派發「學業成績表」予學員;成績表 上會清楚列明學員於每個學期和學年所修畢科目的成績。學員也可在「學 生入門網站」(MyOUHK-學生)自行列印非正式的「學業成績表」。

An ‘Official Transcript’ will be issued and distributed to each student concerned after successful completion of the programme. The Transcript will list all the course results achieved by a student in his/her study. Students can also access the Student Portal to print copies of unofficial Transcript on their own.

10.14 同學如需要提前取得正式成績表以申請其他課程或補發正式成績表,可 到葵興或荔景教學中心詢問處填寫「全日制課程事項申請表」(FFT008) 申請,並提交有關證明文件和繳交$100 的行政費用。

If a student needs to obtain the Official Transcript in advance for the application of other programmes, or request for issuance of an additional Official Transcript , he/she may submit a completed “FTP Course Issues Application Form” (FFT008) with relevant supporting documents and pay an administrative fee of $100 at the Kwai Hing or Lai King learning centres.

34 11. 學歷頒授 Certificate/Diploma Award and Collection

11.1 學員在課程指定的科目中取得合格成績,方可獲本院頒發有關課程的畢業 證書/文憑。本院頒發的證書/文憑,在升學進修和工作上均得到廣泛認可。 有關畢業生的銜接升學階梯,請參閱附錄 C。

To graduate with relevant certificate/diploma, students are required to complete and pass all required courses in their programme. The Institute’s certificates/diplomas are widely recognized for studies and employment. Please refer to Appendix C for the articulation pathway.

11.2 全日制課程的畢業證書/文憑分有不同的等級。高級文憑、大學基礎教育文 憑、副學士先修、通識教育文憑及其他文憑課程的等級取決於學員的畢業 成績平均績點(GGPA), 而毅進文憑課程的等級則取決於學員的加權平 均分 (WAM)。

Classifications of Higher Diploma, Diploma for University Foundation Studies, Pre-Associate Degree, Diploma in General Studies and other Diplomas depend on students’ Graduation GPA (GGPA), and the classifications of Yi Jin Diploma depend on Weighted Average Mark (WAM).

11.7 完成課程後,學員的畢業證書/文憑將會於每年 9 月學院的全日制課程畢業 典禮派發,屆時本院會發出通知,同學務請出席領取。

All certificate/diploma awards will be distributed in the Institute’s Full-Time Programme Graduation Ceremony (held in September). Graduates will be notified to attend the Ceremony and collect their awards.

11.8 未能出席畢業典禮的同學,可於典禮後 1 個星期起,攜帶身份證和學生 證到本院葵興教學中心(新界葵涌葵昌路 51-53 號九龍貿易中心第 2 座 8-12 樓)領取證書。未能親身前往的學員,可書面授權他人代領。授權 書上須註明授權人和受托人的姓名和身份證號碼。除授權書外,受托人 還需出示本身的身份證,以及授權人的身份證和學生證副本。

Those students who cannot attend the Graduation Ceremony may collect their awards in person at the Kwai Hing Learning Centre (8/F-12/F, Tower 2, Kowloon Commerce Centre, 51-53 Kwai Cheong Road, Kwai Chung, N.T.) upon presentation of their HKID Card and Student Card 1 week after the Ceremony. Alternatively, students may authorize a representative with a signed authorization letter (available from the Institute’s office and website) (which should indicate the names and HKID Card numbers of both the student concerned and the representative) to collect the awards. The representative needs to present his/her own HKID Card, and copies of the student’s HKID Card and Student Card for the award collection.

11.9 同學如需要提前取得畢業證書/文憑以申請其他課程,或需要補發證書/文 憑,可到葵興或荔景教學中心填寫「全日制課程事項申請表」(FFT008)申 請,並提交有關證明文件和繳交$100 的行政費用。根據自資高等教育聯盟 指引,學院不能重發毅進文憑畢業證書,只可發出有關的“學歷證明”。

If a student needs to obtain the certificate/diploma in advance for the application of other programmes or reissue an additional certificate/diploma, he/she may submit a completed “FTP Course Issues Application Form” (FFT008) with relevant supporting documents and pay an administrative fee of $100 at our learning centers at Kwai Hing or Lai King. According to the regulations of the Federation for Self-financing Tertiary Education (FSTE), no re-issuance of YJD graduation certificate will be issued and only a standardized testimonial will be issued.

13. 學費 Tuition Fee

13.1 本院全日制課程 2013/2014 年度的學費如下:

Below are the tuition fees of our full-time programmes in 2013/2014:

a. 毅進文憑課程全年學費為$33,500 ,分上下學期兩期繳交( 每期 $16,750) 。

The annual tuition fee of Yi Jin Diploma is $33,500 to be payable by 2 semester installments of $16,750 each.

b. 副學士先修課程全年學費為$40,000,分上下學期兩期繳交(每期 $20,000)。修讀增補課程的學員需要於上學期另繳$4,000 (即上學期 $24,000 及下學期$20,000) 。

The annual tuition fee of -Pre-Associate Degree programme is $40,000 to be payable by 2 semester installments of $20,000 each. Students required to take top-up courses need to pay an additional fee of $4,000 in Semester A (i.e. $24,000 in Semester A and $20,000 in Semester B).

c. 文憑課程全年學費為$40,000,分上下學期兩期繳交(每期$20,000)。

The annual tuition fee of all Diploma programmes is $40,000 to be payable by 2 semester installments of $20,000 each.

d. 所有高級文憑課程兩年的學費為$90,000,分每年上下學期共四期繳交 (每期$22,500)。

The tuition fee of Higher Diploma programmes is $90,000 to be payable by 4 semester installments of ($22,500 each).

e. 學費於每年檢討調整。本院的課程折扣優惠不適用於全日制課程。

The tuition fees are subject to annual review. The Institute’s discount policy is not applicable to the full-time programmes.

13.2 上學期學費須於報讀時全額繳交;下學期學費將於 2013 年 12 月初繳交。

Semester A tuition fee must be settled in full upon registration. Semester B tuition fee will be collected in early December 2013.

40 13.3 學員可以用劃線支票 (支票抬頭請寫「香港公開大學」)、易辦事或信用卡 付款。

Tuition fee may be paid by crossed cheque (payable to “The Open University of Hong Kong”), EPS or credit card.

13.4 學員若因經濟困難而未能如期繳付學費,必須於交費限期前一個星期遞交 「延遲繳交學費申請表(全日制及海外學位課程)」(FFT004) 申請延期;經 批核後須於指定限期前繳交指定金額按金及學費全數。逾期繳費之學員必 須支付$300 行政費用,如學員於指定開課日前仍未繳付全數學費,則當作 放棄學位處理,學員將被撤銷學籍,而本院有權追討所欠款項。如欲申請 重新註冊,被撤銷學籍的學員須遞交「全日制課程事項申請表」(FFT008E), 並須支付 HK$500 行政費用及清還所欠學費,然而本院並不保證學員的申 請一定會被批准。

Students with financial difficulty may apply for deferred payment by submitting a completed “Application for Deferred Payment of Tuition Fee (for Full Time & Overseas Degree Programmes) (FFT004)” at least 1 week before deadline. Students, who neither settle the tuition fee nor are approved for deferred payment by the stipulated deadline, will be charged an administrative fee of HK$300 for late payment. Those who do not settle the overdue tuition fee and administrative fees before the programme/semester commencement, will be de-registered from relevant programmes. The Institute reserves the right to take legal action to recover overdue payment. De-registered students have to apply in writing for re-registration, if they wish to do so. They will be required to submit the “FTP Course Issues Application Form” (FFT008E) together with an administrative fee of HK$500 and outstanding tuition fees. The Institute reserves the right to consider each application on an individual basis and will not guarantee that each registration will be successful.

13.5 所繳按金及學費,一概不得退還。已繳按金而未能清繳全數者,本院有權 追討所欠款項。

All deposit and tuition fee paid are not refundable. Students who paid the deposit have not paid the full tuition fee by the deadline, the Institute reserves the right to take proper actions to recover overdue payment.

41 14. 學費資助 Financial Assistance

14.1 本院務求把學費定於合理的可負擔水平,為更多學員提供學習機會。此外, 本院樂意為有經濟困難的學員提供適當的協助。

The Institute strives to set the programme fees at a reasonable level to provide affordable learning opportunities to students. In addition, the Institute also makes proper arrangements to assist those with financial needs.

46 一般資料 General Information

16. 學員身份證明 Student Identification

16.1 報讀本院全日制課程的學員可於開學前/時獲發學生證。學員上學必須隨身 携帶。開課、進入學校、領取教材及評核時,學員需出示學生證及香港居 民身份證,以資識別。

Upon successful registration on LiPACE’s full-time programmes, students will be issued a student card by semester commencement. Students are required to carry their cards (in conjunction with their HKID cards) as a means of identification on campus, particularly for class commencement, access to class venues, course materials distribution and assessment etc.

16.2 學員如有遺失學生證,請儘快通知學院和辦理報失,否則須承擔有關後果。

Students are required to report their lost cards to the Institute immediately and otherwise bear relevant liabilities.

16.3 學員如需補領學生證,必須填妥「全日制課程事項申請表」(FFT008),連 同有關行政費交回本院辦理。表格可於本院網頁下載或向本院辦事處索取。

Students who need to re-apply student card are required to fill in the “FTP Course Issues Application Form (FFT008)” and submit it with relevant administration fee to the Institute’s counter. The form is available from the Institute Office or website.

47 17. 學員紀律 Student Discipline

17.1 在任何時間,全日制學員必須遵守學院制定的一切規則及條例,並於校園 內外(包括合作院校地方) 穿戴整齊及謹言慎行,保持良好秩序及紀律。學 生如違反紀律守則,學院會就學生行為失當事宜作出紀律處分。

At all times, full-time students are required to dress and behave properly, and conform to the Institute’s rules and regulations inside and outside schools (including partner institutes’ premises). The Institute would take disciplinary actions against a student who is suspected of guilty of misconduct.

17.2 學員於校園內外不得進行不當行為和活動,例如︰

a. 在課室內飲食; b. 上課時使用手提電話; c. 在學校範圍內及校門外指定範圍吸煙; d. 妨礙學校教職員或學生的教導、學習、評核、研究、行政或顧問工作; e. 拒絕遵從大學及學院之授權人士就學員違反規例所發出的任何指令; f. 在學校範圍內下載及瀏覽色情資訊、閱讀或派發猥褻物品; g. 在沒有獲授權或非學術目的之情況下使用學校之設施; h. 誹謗、襲擊或毆打同學或教職員; i. 蓄意損壞或塗污學校公物; j. 盜竊、騙取或不當運用學校資金或任何財物; k. 博彩及賭博; l. 性騷擾; m. 濫用或於未被授權之情況下以學校名義造出有損校譽之事; n. 任何違反平等機會條例之行為,如: 騷擾、歧視、中傷及逼害; o. 違反個人資料私隱條例;或 p. 任何違反法律條例之行為和活動。

Inside and outside the campus, students are not permitted to engage in misconduct, such as the following:

a. eating and drinking in class; b. using mobile phones in class; c. smoking on campus or in specified area outside the Institute’s learning centres; d. conduct which unreasonably obstructs the teaching, learning, assessment, research, administrative or consultative activities of the University, its staff, or students; e. refusal to comply with any instructions or orders given by authorized persons of OUHK and LiPACE prohibiting any misconduct; f. downloading and viewing obscene pictures, and reading or distributing of obscene materials on campus; 48 g. the use of OUHK and LiPACE facilities without authorization or for purposes that are not connected with academic study or learning; h. defamation of, assault on or battery against any student or employee of the Institute; i. willful damage to or defacement of any property of the University; j. theft, fraud, misapplication of University funds or property of any kind; k. betting and gambling; l. sexual harassment; m. abuse of or unauthorized use of the name of the University or the Institute that puts the name of the University/Institute into disrepute; n. harassment, discrimination, vilification or victimization involving issues of equal opportunities ; o. a breach of personal data privacy; or p. engaging in and carrying out any illegal act.

17.3 學員修業時須秉持學術誠信。接受評核時,學員必須呈交自己的習作、如 實報告研究成果,並恰當地標示引用的非原創內容。學員如有任何下列違 反學術誠信行為,除有關課業/科目成績將作零分論,並會面臨紀律處分。

a. 提交並非學生本人所做的作業供評分之用; b. 抄襲他人已出版或未出版的著作,不論是抄襲全部或其中部分內容,以 及是否原文照錄或用其他字眼代替原文詞句而不註明出處; c. 提出他人的論據作為本人的論據而不說明論據的出處; d. 使用虛假或捏造的資料或實驗結果; e. 測驗或考試時作弊或作出違規行為; f. 冒名頂替同學參加考試、導修課或其他活動,或企圖以他人頂替自己; 或 g. 取得或企圖取得未經許可使用的考試卷或其他評分資料。

Students must pursue their studies with academic honesty. For assessment, students must present their own work, honestly report their own findings, and properly acknowledge the work which is not their own. Students who commit the following act of academic dishonesty would be given a mark of zero in relevant assessment/course and liable to disciplinary actions.

a. Submission for assessment purposes of material that is not a student’s own work; b. copying, either entirely or in part, and whether using the exact words or with some substitution of words, of the published or unpublished work of others without acknowledgement of the original source; c. presentation of another person’s argument as the student’s own without giving due credit to the originator; d. use of false or fabricated data or experimental results; e. malpractice and misconduct during examinations;

49 f. impersonating another student, or seeking to have another person impersonate oneself, during an examination, tutorial or other exercise; or g. obtaining or seeking to obtain unauthorized access to question papers or other assessment materials.

17.4 本院有權依據香港公開大學及學院有關學生紀律之規則、條例及政策,向 行為失當之學生採取紀律處分:

a. 如學生涉嫌有違反紀律,本院教師、導師或其他教職員會向其班主任/ 課程主任報告該涉嫌違規的行為。班主任/課程主任收到有關學生違反 紀律的報告後可發出口頭告誡,並將告誡記錄在學生檔案內;三次口頭 告誡為一次書面警告。如學生違規為性質嚴重或涉嫌犯罪,違規學生將 被即時發出書面警告; b. 學生接到口頭告誡後,應盡力改善自身紀律。否則,課程主任/學部主 管會向仍未作出改善之學生發出書面警告,並通知有關學生之家長/監 護人; c. 學院院長有權就嚴重違規或屢次違反紀律行為的事件向本院學生紀律 委員會提出召開聆訊; d. 聆訊審結時,學生紀律委員會因應需要,對違反紀律的學生可施行以下 一項或多項處分或罰則:

 不超過港幣 2,000 元的罰款;  賠償學院之物業或財物損失;  勒令暫停修讀;或  終止學籍或不准再選修學院的任何課程。

The Institute is arbitrative on misconduct matters which are stated but not limited to any rules, regulations or policies made by OUHK or the Institute:

a. the Institute’s teacher, tutor or other staff member who suspects that a student has committed a disciplinary offence would report to the class teacher/course coordinator/programme leader, who will issue a formal verbal warning upon the alleged offence and record the case in the Student Discipline Record; whereas three formal verbal warnings will lead to a written warning. Where the alleged offence is of a serious nature or involves aggravating factor, a written warning will be issued to the offending student of forthwith; b. a student ought to behave and stop misconduct after being warned verbally. Where a written warning is issued to a student and commits further misconduct, the parent/guardian should be informed; c. on the recommendation of the Institute Director, the Institute Disciplinary Committee shall convene a hearing in relation to allegations of a commission of a serious or repeated disciplinary offence;

50 d. on conclusion of a hearing, the Institute Disciplinary Committee may impose any of the following sanctions or penalties, singly or in combination, as it may consider appropriate:

 a fine, not exceeding HKD2,000;  a requirement to make good any loss of or damage to the property or premises of the Institute;  suspension of privileges afforded to student;  exclusion from any course or further registration in any courses offered by the Institute.

17.5 若涉嫌違反紀律行為之學生對所定的紀律處分不滿,可於裁決後十四天內 向院長提出書面上訴。

a. 如屬有關口頭告誡或書面警告之上訴,會由學院紀律委員處理及作最終 決定。 b. 如屬有關最後書面警告、勒令暫停修讀或終止學籍之上訴,會由院長處 理及決定是否維持學院紀律委員的決定或施行其他處分或罰則;院長所 作的決定為最終決定。

In any event, the student who is not satisfied with the disciplinary action taken against him/her may be allowed one chance to appeal by writing to the Director within 14 days after the action has been communicated to him/her.

a. An appeal against a formal verbal warning or written warning shall be considered and decided by the Institute Disciplinary Committee where its decision is final. b. An appeal against a final written warning, suspension or exclusion decided by the Institute Disciplinary Committee shall be made to the Director who will decide whether to uphold the decision of the Institute Disciplinary Committee or impose an alternative sanction/penalty; whereas the decision of the Director shall be final.

58 19. 學員聯繫及回應 Student Communication and Feedback

19.1 本院十分重視與學員的有效溝通,希望藉此取得學員對教學及學習質素的 意見。學員的回應有助於課程的持續改進及發展。

LiPACE places great importance in effective communication with students. It is hoped that through communication the Institute can obtain student feedback about the quality of teaching and learning. Student feedback is an essential source of information for the programme’s continual improvement and development.

19.2 報讀全日制課程的學員將獲編配一個電郵戶口。所有消息 (如特別安排、 課程安排及考試時間表) 均透過電郵發布,故學員應經常查閱電郵。

Each student enrolling on the full-time programmes is provided with an email account. Students are encouraged to check the emails frequently as all notices (such as ad hoc arrangement, schedules and examination timetable) will be sent through this channel.

19.3 學員如對課程有任何意見或建議,可藉非正式渠道 (如電話、電郵),或正 式渠道 (如在課程主任的觀課時間、會面、課程評估) 提出。

Students having any comments and suggestions about the programmes are encouraged to communicate directly with relevant ProgrammeLeader, either through informal channels (e.g. telephone, email) or via formal channels (such as class visits, meetings with students, and programme/course evaluation).

19.4 課程評估方式分兩種︰一是「學科評估問卷」,讓學員就課程目標及內容、 教學設施、課程管理,以及個別導師的教學表現反映意見。每個學科最少 設一次評估。

There are two types of evaluation. The first is a Course Evaluation Questionnaire which seeks students’ views and comments on such issues as course objectives and content, teaching facilities and equipment, course administration and teaching performance of individual instructors. This is done at least once for each course.

59 19.5 課程的畢業生將被邀填寫「課程評估問卷」,以便本院了解學員的整體學習 經驗及對課程的總體意見。畢業生可藉此機會建議本院發展新的課程,以 及提供更多進修途徑。

Graduates of the full-time programmes will be given another chance to complete a Programme Evaluation Questionnaire which collects more comprehensive feedback on their total learning experience and their views of the programme as a whole. Graduates can take this opportunity to make suggestions for new programme development and provision of study pathways.

19.6 若學員的意見屬投訴性質,除上述的渠道外,學員可以書面形式向本院的 傳訊及業務發展處主管提出,該部門主管將作出公正的調查。本院盡可能 於兩個工作天內聯絡非匿名申訴人,或於五個工作天內答覆申訴人有關調 查結果。

If students have feedback which is a complaint in nature, on top of the above channels, they may also write to the Institute’s Communications and Business Development Unit-in-charge who will conduct an impartial investigation. LiPACE strives to acknowledge the feedback within 2 working days or reply to the non-anonymous complainant of the investigation results within 5 working days.

19.7 為確保本院能與學員快捷準確地溝通,學員應即時於「學生入門網站」 (MyOUHK-學生)更新個人資料如通訊地址或電話號碼等,以確保本院能透 過正確的地址/電話與學員聯絡。

To ensure speedy and accurate communication between LiPACE and students, students are required to immediately update any changes of your personal information (e.g. correspondence address and contact telephone numbers) using the Student Portal. This is very important to ensure that all our communication with you will be made at the proper address/telephone number.

60 20. 惡劣天氣安排 Adverse Weather Arrangements

20.1 教育局就中小學校發出有關惡劣天氣安排的一般公告並不適用於本院。學 員必須瀏覽本院網頁以取得最新資訊:www.ouhk.edu.hk/lipace。

The general public announcements about adverse weather arrangements from the Education Bureau do not apply to the Institute’s full-time programmes. Students are required to check the latest announcement on the Institute’s website (www.ouhk.edu.hk/lipace).

20.2 若在下列的上課或考試時間前,八號熱帶氣旋或黑色暴雨警告仍然懸掛︰

a. 上午六時三十分︰下午二時正前的課堂、講座及考試全部取消。 b. 上午十時正︰下午二時正至六時正的課堂、講座及考試全部取消。 c. 下午二時正︰當天的課堂、講座及考試全部取消。

If the Typhoon No. 8 or the Black Rainstorm signal is still hoisted at the following time before class/seminar/examination commencement:

a. 6:30am: All classes/seminars/examinations before 2:00pm will be cancelled. b. 10:00am: All classes/seminars/examinations between 2:00-6:00pm will be cancelled. c. 2:00pm: All classes/seminars/examinations on that day will be cancelled.

20.3 如八號或上的熱帶氣旋於課堂、講座或考試進行中懸掛,所有課堂、講座 或考試均會終止。如黑色暴雨警告於課堂、講座或考試進行中生效,進行 中的課堂或考試將如常舉行。

If the Typhoon No. 8 or above is hoisted during classes/seminars/examinations, all classes/seminars/examinations will be terminated. If the Black Rainstorm signal is hoisted during classes/seminars/examinations, those classes/seminars/ examinations already in progress will continue.

20.4 視乎交通及各教學中心使用情況而定,若八號熱帶氣旋或黑色暴雨警告於 以下時間或之前除下︰

61 Subject to the availability of learning centres and the transportation conditions, if the Typhoon No. 8 or the Black Rainstorm signal is lowered before/at the following time:

1. 自 2004 年 10 月 1 日起,電子郵件已成為大學職員與學生之間的主要聯絡方 式。所有的教學與行政資訊將會通過您的電郵帳戶向您發送。因此,學員必 須於開學前啟動您的電郵帳戶並需經常查閱電郵,以取得學院的最新資訊。

Since 1 October 2004, email has become the major communication channel between student and the University. All academic and administrative information will be sent to you via email. For this reason, it is absolutely essential that you activate your email account before programme commencement and to check the email account frequently in order to obtain the updated information of the Institute.

2. 設立電郵帳戶 Create Your Email Account

OUHK provides email accounts to all registered students. The account will be valid until one month after completion of your programme. If you already have an email account provided by the Institute, you still can use it.

終身學習講座須知 Important Notes to Lifelong Learning Seminars

「終身學習講座」(下稱講座)為副學士先修課程、文憑課程、高級文憑課程及非本 地學士學位課程同學的必修科目,旨在讓同學擴展不同領域的知識。因此,同學必 須於每個學年出席 6 場講座(上學期 3 場及下學期 3 場)。同時,同學須於出席的 6 場講座中選定其中 3 場撰寫反思摘記。如同學未能完成以上學院對於講座的要求, 此科目將會被評核為不合格(即 F 等級)。

“Lifelong Learning Seminar” (LLS) is a compulsory course in Pre-Associate Degree, Diploma, Higher Diploma and Non-local Degree Programmes. It aims to enhance students’ understanding and knowledge of different subject areas. Students studying the above programmes are required to attend a total of 6 LLSs in the Academic Year (3 for Semester A and 3 for Semester B). In addition, students should also choose 3 out of 6 LLSs attended to compose Reflective Journals. Students who fail to meet the above requirements will fail the LLS subject (i.e. receive a “F” grade).

1. 講座網上登記須知: Please note the following points when registering the seminars online:

1.1 學院將在每個學期初於全日制課程網站的「學員專區」 (www.ouhk.edu.hk/lipace/ftp/studentarea) 公佈整個學期的講座安排。同學 可選擇其中 3 場進行網上登記。

The Institute will announce the LLS schedule at the beginning of each semester on the website’s Full-time Student Area (www.ouhk.edu.hk/lipace/ftp/studentarea). Students can register 3 seminars on-line.

1.2 同學於網上登記時必須填妥相關欄目:學生姓名、學生編號、聯絡電話、 電郵地址。

Students are required to provide the information when register on-line: student name, student number, contact number, email address.

1.3 同學成功登記後可自行列印該頁面以作記錄。

After successful registration, students are encouraged to print the page for their own reference.

注意:講座名額有限,額滿即止。假若學年終結前學員的總出席率不達 標,本院將不會額外安排講座。請同學及早做網上登記。

67 Note: Quota is set for each LLS. No extra seminars will be arranged if a student fails to meet the attendance requirement by the end of each academic year. Early registration is highly encouraged.

2. 學院將因應講座餘額而決定是否接受即場報名。 The Institute, at its own discretion, will accept walk-in registration in case of extra quotas.

3. 出席講座程序須知: Please note the following points while participating in the seminars:

3.1 同學須於講座開場前 15 分鐘到達,並攜同學生證辦理入場手續。

Student should arrive at the venue 15 minutes before the Seminar and bring along the Student ID Card for admission purpose.

3.2 完成入場手續後,學院將會派予同學兩張講座入場券。同學須妥善保管 入場券,並於講座結束後交回其中一張,另一張則自行保管以作記錄。

Two LLS admission tickets will be distributed to students after the admission process. Students are required to keep the tickets and submit one of the tickets to the Institute at the end of the seminar, and keep the other one for their own record.

3.3 講座開始後 15 分鐘不得進場。 No admission will be allowed 15 minutes after the commencement of seminar.

4. 繳交「反思摘記」須知 Submission of Reflective Journal:

4.1 同學需於每場講座完畢後的一個月內繳交所選講題的一篇反思摘記。任 何遲交的反思摘記一律不予評改(以學院收到的日期爲準)。

Students are required to submit a reflective journal within 1 month after the relevant seminar (referring to the date of receipt by the Institute). Late submission of reflective journals will not be accepted.

4.2 同學於繳交時必須連同填妥之「反思摘記遞交表格」,釘裝後一併交到 學院其中一間教學中心的收集箱中。學院的收集箱設於: - 荔景教學中心詢問處外 - 九龍灣中心 8 樓教員室外及 - 葵興教學中心。 凡遺漏繳交上述任何一份文件,本院概不受理。「反思摘記遞交表格」可 於全日制課程網站「學員專區」 (www.ouhk.edu.hk/lipace/ftp/studentarea)

68 內下載。 While submitting the Reflective Journal, students should attach a completed “Reflective Journal Submission Form” together with the journal. Both documents should be bound and returned to one of the Institute’s collection boxes. The collection boxes are situated: - by the counter of OUHK-CITA Learning Centre - outside the staff room at 8/F, Kowloon Bay Centre and - Kwai Hing Learning Centre. Omission of any said document will not be accepted. The “Reflective Journal Submission Form” can be obtained from Full-time Programmes Student Area: www.ouhk.edu.hk/lipace/ftp/studentarea.

4.3 同學繳交講座反思摘記須符合以下規格: Requirements for reflective journals:

a. 請一律以 A4 紙電腦列印,手寫體概不受理。 All journals should be typed in Words format and printed on A4 papers. No submission of handwritten work is allowed.

b. 每篇不少於 250 字,不多於 400 字。 250-400 words per journal is a must.

c. 副學士先修及文憑課程同學,必須以中文書寫。通識教育文憑課程 同學可選擇用中文或英文書寫。 Students of PAD and Diploma Programmes should submit the journals in Chinese. Diploma in General Studies can choose either English or Chinese to write.

d. 高級文憑,大學基礎教育文憑及海外學士學位課程同學,必須以英 文書寫。 Students of Higher Diploma, Diploma for University Foundation Studies and Overseas Degree Programmes should submit the journals in English.

e. 同學需清晰填妥「反思摘記遞交表格」上的學生基本資料(學生姓 名,學生編號等)以及所出席的講座日期及講題。如表格所提供的 資料不全,學院將不會處理同學繳交的摘記。 Students should fill in the Reflective Journal Submission Form with their personal information (i.e. student name, student number, etc.) and the seminar information (seminar date, topic, etc.) Reflective Journals with incomplete submission forms will NOT be accepted.

注意:不符合以上規格的反思摘記概不受理。 Note: Reflective journals that fail to meet above mentioned requirements will not be marked. 69 4.4 同學於繳交每篇反思摘記及 「反思摘記遞交表格」 前必須自行保留副 本。所有遞交的反思摘記將不發還。

Students shall keep a copy of their submitted reflective journals and relevant “Reflective Journal Submission Forms”. No submitted Journals will be returned.

5. 反思摘記評核準則 : Assessment criteria of the reflective journals:

5.1 內容:能否緊扣講座主題。 Content: whether it tightly corresponds to the Seminar’s theme;

5.2 組織:結構是否嚴密,格式是否正確。 Organization: whether the structure is well organized and the format is correct.

5.3 詞彙:能否使用適當詞彙及術語。 Wordings: whether appropriate vocabulary and jargons are adopted.

5.4 語法及拼寫:語法、標點符號及拼寫是否準確。 Grammar and Spelling: whether grammar, punctuation and spelling are correct.

5.5 感想:能否表達自己的見解及想法。 Sentiment: whether personal ideas and thoughts are well expressed.

電腦室使用守則 Rules of PC Laboratory

1. 進入電腦實驗室 Admission to the PC Labs

1.1 電腦實驗室只供正在大學修讀的學生及持有大學有效職員證的職員使 用。電腦實驗室當值職員會隨時要求使用者出示其有效的身份證明,未 能出示者會被要求離開電腦實驗室。

Only active students and current OUHK staff with valid OUHK Identity Cards are allowed to use the PC Labs. The on-duty staff of the PC Labs may at any time require a user to show his or her identity as a valid user, and may require any person who fails to provide the requested evidence to leave the PC Labs.

2. 使用電腦實驗室 Use of the PC Labs

2.1 除本規例所包括之規則外,使用者在使用電腦實驗室時亦須遵守「最新 指引」內的規則。「最新指引」張貼在電腦實驗室入口處。

In addition to the clauses included in the Regulations, users must also comply with those in the “Latest Rules” when using the PC Labs. The “Latest Rules” is displayed at the entrance of the PC Labs.

2.2 使用者在同一時間內只可使用一套電腦;不可同時佔用兩套或以上的電 腦。

Users are allowed to use only one PC at any time. No user is allowed to occupy two or more PCs simultaneously.

2.3 使用者若發現電腦組件有任何故障、損壞或遺失,必須立即向電腦實驗 室職員報告。使用者須對使用中之電腦的任何組件的遺失或損壞負上全 責。使用者或需悉數支付購買該缺失或損壞項目的費用,另須支付運費 和手續費。電腦實驗室徵收重購費用後,該缺失或損壞項目仍屬電腦實 驗室所有。

Any malfunction, damage or loss of any computer components must be reported to the PC Lab staff immediately. Users will be responsible for loss and damage to any components of the PCs that they are using. Users may be required to pay the full value plus the shipping and handling fees for any replacements. Lost or damaged components will continue to be the property of the PC Labs even if the replacement charge has been paid.

72 2.4 如使用者在電腦實驗室工作時蒙受任何數據損失,電腦實驗室概不負 責。電腦實驗室建議使用者應經常將數據儲存到自備的便攜式存貯裝置 上。

The PC Labs will not be responsible for any loss of user data. Users are suggested to frequently save data onto their portable storage.

2.5 使用者不得將自備的便攜式存貯裝置內的軟件或數據,複製到電腦實驗 室內任何電腦的硬碟上。電腦實驗室有權從室內的電腦上刪除該等資 料,而無須預先通知。此外,未經大學許可,使用者不得擅自將電腦實 驗室內的伺服器上的資料複製到自備的便攜式存貯裝置上。

Users should not copy any software or data from their own portable storage onto hard disks of any PCs in the labs. The OUHK reserves the right to erase anything copied on the PCs without advance notice. On the other hand, users should not copy anything from the servers to their own portable storage without the OUHK's permission.

2.6 電腦實驗室內(導修室範圍除外)所有電腦均可供使用者自由使用。導 修室內的電腦通常只供導修課之用,有需要時也會容許使用者自由使用。

All PCs in the PC Labs (except those in tutorial laboratories) are available for free access. PCs in tutorial laboratories are usually used only for tutorials but may be made available for free access if found necessary.

3. 行為守則 User Conduct

3.1 使用電腦實驗室者應遵守本規例所述以及室內貼出的關於適當使用電 腦實驗室的指示,亦須遵守當值職員的口頭指示。

Users should follow the instructions on the proper use of the PC Labs as described in this regulation, displayed in the PC Labs or given verbally by the on-duty staff.

3.2 使用者若被發現濫用電腦實驗室,其使用電腦實驗室的權利可被暫停。

Users' right to use the PC Labs may be suspended if they are found to misuse the PC Labs.

3.3 對於因使用者複製任何軟件或數據而觸犯香港或其他地方的知識產權 的行為,概由使用者負責。

Users will be held responsible for any infringement of intellectual property rights in Hong Kong or elsewhere, arising from that user copying any software or data. 73 3.4 使用者不可預訂電腦而閑置不用。任何電腦閑置十分鐘後,其他使用者 即可佔用。

Users are not allowed to reserve the PCs and leave them idle. Any reserved PCs left idle for ten minutes may be taken up by other users.

3.5 如發現有個人物品留在座位上而無人看管超過十分鐘,可向電腦實驗室 當值職員報告,當值職員可將該等物品取走而毋須預先通知。對於無人 看管而引致的財物遺失或損壞,電腦實驗室概不負責。

Any personal items left unattended in the lab (on the seat) for more than ten minutes may be reported to and removed, without prior notice, by the on-duty staff. The PC Labs will not be responsible for any loss or damage to unattended personal property.

3.6 未經許可或試圖取走及/或毀壞電腦實驗室的資源,無論牽涉項目的全 部或部分,均會受到嚴厲紀律處分。此外,使用者亦不可浪費電腦紙張 及其他資源。

Unauthorized removal and/or mutilation of PC Lab resources, either in whole or in part, or any attempt to do so will subject the offender to serious disciplinary action. Also, users should conserve computer paper and any other resources.

3.7 使用者不可觸摸電腦實驗室內任何控制開關,如電源開關及空氣調節控 制等。

Users are not allowed to touch any common control switches such as electrical power switches and air conditioning controls, etc.

3.8 除非當值職員另有指示,否則出入電腦實驗室必須使用指定的入口及出 口。

Users should enter/leave PC Labs through the designated entrance/exit unless directed otherwise by the on-duty staff.

3.9 在電腦實驗室的出口,如當值的職員提出要求,使用者必須出示個人物 品讓職員檢查。檢查範圍亦可包括查看手提袋、手提箱或其他盛物器具 內的物品。

At the request of the on-duty staff, a user should display personal belongings for inspection at the PC Lab exit. A user may be required to show the contents of his/her bags, cases or other containers.

74 3.10 使用者不可作出可能滋擾其他使用者的行為。電腦實驗室內任何地方均 嚴禁吸煙。在電腦實驗室內及其附近範圍必須保持肅靜。

Users should not behave in a manner that is likely to disturb other users. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the PC Labs. Silence must be observed within the PC Labs and adjacent areas.

3.11 任何人士不得在電腦實驗室內利用電腦閱覽含色情成分的資料。(如作 研究或研習用途,請先向當值人員查詢;如情況許可,本校會另作安排。)

Viewing obscene material on the computers in the PC Lab is not allowed. (If you need to do so for academic research or study, please consult the staff at the Service Counter. Special arrangements will be made if feasible.)

3.12 在離開電腦實驗室時,使用者必須帶走所有個人物品及清理廢紙。

Users should take away all their belongings and any items they do not want, such as paper, when they have finished using the PCs.

3.13 在電腦實驗室內不可飲食、進行任何形式的遊戲、聽耳筒式錄音機或鐳 射唱機等。

Food, drinks, games of any form, listening to a Walkman or a Discman is not allowed.

3. 使用守則 Regulations

3.1 公開大學學生持有有效的大學學生證,方可進入和使用自修室。同學不 可攜同非公開大學學生進入自修室。

Only OUHK students with a valid OUHK student ID Card can have access to the rooms. Students should not bring non-OUHK students to the self-study rooms.

3.2 所有使用者應遵守自修室所屬機構制訂的使用場地守則。有關機構或大 學代表有權驅逐違反規則或濫用場地的學生。

All students should follow the instructions on the proper use of the venues, enforced by the organizations concerned. The organization or OUHK representative will have authority to expel those who behave improperly in or misuse the venue. 76 3.3 使用者應於紀錄冊上填上學生證編號、開始和結束使用的時間及其他所 需的資料。

All students should write their Student ID Card numbers, time in and time out as well as any information required in the record book.

3.4 場內不准飲食和吸煙。

Food, drink and smoking are prohibited.

3.5 不可濫用、移動或損壞任何檯、椅和傢俬。

Tables, chairs and other furniture should not be misused, moved or damaged.

3.6 不可進行任何形式的遊戲。

Games of any kind are prohibited.

3.7 不得進行任何干擾其他使用者的活動。

Any activities which cause disturbance to other users are prohibited.

3.8 要保持肅靜。不得談話或使用電話。

Silence must be observed. Conversation, including telephone conversation, is prohibited.

3.9 不可使用發聲的電腦或其他發聲的電子產品。

Electronic devices which emit noise are prohibited.

3.10 學生須自行負責其財物安全。

Students are responsible for their own property.

3.11 自修室座位按先到先得原則使用。

Availability of a study place at self-study centre(s) is on a first-come-first-served basis.

77 附錄 H Appendix H 全日制課程考試考生須知 Student Guidelines on Full-time Examination

1. 同學須提早 15 分鐘到達試場(包括口試),遲到考生將不獲補時。遲到超過 30 分鐘的考生,不准進入試場。 Please arrive at the examination venue 15 minutes before the examination starts. Candidates arriving late will not be given extra time. After the examination starts for 30 minutes, candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination venue. 2. 請將所有在考試中禁止使用的物品或文件,收在書包或背囊內,並將書包或背 囊放於你的座位下。考生須確保衣袋內或身上沒有任何筆記或書籍。倘在考試 進行時被發現這些物品,考生可被取消本科目考試成績。 Please put in your bag all the unauthorized materials or equipment and place your bag under your seat. Make sure you don’t have any notes or books on you. If any unauthorized materials or equipments are found during the examination, you might be disqualified. 3. 請關掉你的流動電話或傳呼機,並將流動電話或傳呼機放在座位下的書包或背 囊內,否則你可被取消考試資格。 Please turn off your mobile phone or pager and put them into your bag, or you might be disqualified. 4. 應考時請帶備你的學生証,如未能出示有效身份證明文件,考生可被取消考試 資格。 Please bring your student ID card to the examination for identification. If you fail to show your student ID card or any other identity cards (e.g. HKID card), you will be disqualified for the examination. 5. 在“試卷”及“答案簿”上,填寫你的姓名、班別及學生編號。 Please write down your name, class number and student number on the examination paper and answer book.
