Resolve: “To say YES to Christ.”

Maybe a good New Year’s Resolution is to learn to just say YES to Jesus. To do that requires trust and faith. Look at the first disciples…. How did they do it?!

“He called them, and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed him.” James and his brother John dropped everything to follow Christ. They embarked on this unknown journey with Je- sus, traveling “around all of Galilee”. Jesus’ call of- fered them neither stability nor security. In a sense, it should be easier for us to “leave our nets” than it was for the brothers in today’s Gospel. Yet how often do we find all sorts of excuses to “postpone” any response St. Mary Magdalen Parish Lenten Mission to his call to surrender our lives to Christ?
