Integral to the Playstation experience is the ability to access a host of exciting online features, capabilities, and digital content through PlayStationNetwork (PSN). Launched in November 2006, PSN features an online market place; PlayStationStore, a premium subscription service to enhance the online experience and surface additional social features; PlayStationPlus; as well as music, video, and TV subscriptions and rental services providing a complete entertainment experience to gamers and non-gamers alike. The digital environment is fast-paced and ever-changing, and this is reflected in both the growth of PSN, PlayStationStore, and the services offered.

The Opportunity

Global Payments are responsible for enabling PlayStation Store consumers to pay for their digital content and services, and maximising acceptance and minimising friction within the purchase experience. Sony is seeking a dynamic and seasoned payments expert to manage all the SIE payment partnerships. Reporting to the Director of Global Payments, the role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining business relationships across all SIE payment partners.

As a member of the Global Payments Team, you will work collaboratively with partners to drive engagement, identify opportunities, and work with cross functional teams to deliver the broader payment strategy. As Head of Payment partnerships, you will be expected to contribute to the development and delivery of the global payment strategy. You will be the lead ambassador responsible for communicating the SIE strategy and approach to payment solution partners and for maximising the value of each relationship.

Responsibilities

• Growth and ongoing management of new and existing relationships with payment partners • Identification of opportunities with partners to minimise cost and optimise payment processing and acceptance • Commercial and contractual negotiations • Communication of business requirements to partners • Introduce and socialise payment initiatives across vendor stakeholders and internal Product Management to ensure the appropriate resources are engaged • Communication to partners with regards to volume forecasting and payment routing decisions • Incident Management impacting payment partners, ensuring appropriate resolution and stakeholder management • Primary relationship for payment partners • Partner performance management • Staying up to date with payments regulations and socialising this within the business to ensure compliance across vendors

Experience/Skills

Essential

• Proven track record in relationship management • Well connected in the payment space • Self-starter who is solution focused, with the ability to work under their own initiative • First class understanding of credit/debit card processing within an eCommerce environment • Ability to navigate complex environments with multiple stakeholders across a variety of business functions • Commercial negotiation • Excellent communication skills • Ability to successfully build relationships with external and internal parties • Experience of working under pressure, in an ever changing and challenging environment • Strong understanding of card schemes and regulations • Good understanding of payment service regulations such as the Payment Services Directive

Desirable

• Prior experience of driving efficiencies in eCommerce environments • Good understanding of nuances between online payment instruments • Experience or interest in the industry • Project management experience • Understanding of cultural and regional differences in attitudes towards different payment mechanics
