    Rhonda Vincent’s new single, “LIKE I COULD” is the RESULT OF A CHAIN REACTION Rhonda Vincent is no stranger to most anyone in the field of music. Why even Elton John and Bernie Taupin enlisted Rhonda and her iconic friend Dolly Parton, to create a “Queen of Bluegrass” version of their song “Please” for their 50th Anniversary Tribute CD in 2018. The Grammys honored Rhonda Vincent & The Rage with the 2017 Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album “All The Rage – Volume One” a live project that displays the World Class Talent of Rhonda and her incredible band. She’s one of the hardest working entertainers, in any genre of music, touring an incredible eleven months out of the year. It’s been far too long since the “Queen of Bluegrass” settled down in the studio to create new music, and finally the wait is over. There wasn’t a song search, or a target recording date. Frankly, the entire process was a continuous chain reaction. The songs presented themselves in the most unlikely of places. The first single, “LIKE I COULD” was discovered while riding in a limousine with Grand Ole Opry Star, Jeannie Seely. Jeannie was sharing her fear of co-writing by appointment, and how she finally faced her fear, at the encouragement of fellow Opry member Bill Anderson by writing “LIKE I COULD” with Erin Enderlin and Bobby Tomberlin. She sang her new song as the limo rolled along. Rhonda instantly loved it and told Jeannie she wanted to record it. Jeannie, in total amazement, later texted Rhonda to ask if she really wanted to record it or was it merely an impulse reaction.

    Born in California (Nov. 1964) and raised in Arizona, MIKE BUB began his musical journey as a banjo and guitar player. After college, Mike formed the Weary Hearts, with Ron Block (Alison Krauss), Eric Uglum and the late Butch Baldassari (Nashville Mandolin Ensemble). As that band began to fade, Mike turned his concentration from the banjo and guitar and took up the bass to work with The Del McCoury Band. With Del, Mike began a 13 year association with what was to become, and still is, the most awarded band in the history of the International Bluegrass Music Association. Racking up an unprecedented 9 Entertainer of the Year awards, 5 Bass Player of the Year awards as well as various Album, Instrumental and Song of the Year awards, including a Grammy award for the album “The Company We Keep”, which won for Best Bluegrass Album of 2005. A longtime resident of East Nashville, Mike can often be found playing the local clubs with his talented friends and neighbors. Born in Hazelville, WA, SHAD COBB began playing the fiddle at the age of thirteen, and his career started early with his family band that included his father and brothers. In '95, Shad moved to Nashville and began recording with some of Nashville’s top artists, including such acts as Bluegrass legends and Grand Ole Opry members the Osborne Brothers, vocalist Marty Rabon with his band Shenandoah, country music icons like Willie Nelson, singer-songwriters like Steve Earle, and old-time and bluegrass musician/comedian Mike Snyder. Shad’s intricate and soulful style of playing has been compiled over the years from many of his early influences.

Several of the essays now composing Style and Idea were originally written in German. In translating these, I have, at the author's wish, adhered as literally to the original style as English usage allows. Thus there should be a certain con­ sistency of expression between these and the later essays which were written in English but which still bear the earmarks of Schoenberg's individual Ger­ man style. Schoenberg himself has elucidated his attitude towards his own manner of writing in English as follows: ". I do not plan to hide the fact that I am not born in this language and I do not want to parade adorned by stylistic merits of another person." Obe­ dience to this viewpoint has governed editorial ac­ tivities throughout. It may also be stated that, of set purpose, no at­ tempt has been made to eliminate any possible in­ consistencies in the points of view expressed in the different essays. It should be remembered that they represent the product of nearly forty years of Schoenberg's intellectual activity, and hence reflect the growth and development of his ideas during that time. What they do not present is a fixed dog­ ma and no such thing should be sought for in them.
