Clemmesen is currently a senior research fellow at the Royal Danish Defence College Center of Military History. He has published numerous books and articles. Virtual Maritime Security Regimes Roundtable 2020 Our Guest Speakers Thursday, 30 April 2020 Webinar Welcome and Introductory Comments Keith Blount Keith Blount is the Commander of NATO's Allied Maritime Command. He is NATO's principal maritime adviser and has operational Command of NATO's Standing Naval Forces. He joined the Royal Navy in 1984 as a helicopter pilot. He received his wings in 1986 and was a front line aviator at the age of 20. Through a varied flying career, he qualified as an instructor and flew in the Royal Navy Helicopter Display Team. Blount has blended his aviation experience with a broad span of Command. He has commanded three warships, including the helicopter carrier HMS OCEAN and sailed in NATO Task Groups during Operation Sharpguard and Operation Active Endeavour. He was the Iraqi Maritime Task Group Commander during Operation TELIC and, more recently, was the United Kingdom's Maritime Component Commander, based in Bahrain, spanning Operations in Syria and Iraq. His staff appointments have included three periods in the Ministry of Defence and his last London assignment was as Military Assistant to the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Defence Studies and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2012, he was awarded an operational Legion of Merit by the President of the United States in 2016.

    Curriculum Vitae Dan Brømsøe Termansen Captain (N), Royal Danish Navy Captain Dan B. Termansen was born on 24 March 1966. He joined the Royal Danish Navy officer training program in 1984. After graduation from the Naval Academy in 1988 he served on the Fast Patrol Boat DRYADEN patrolling the Baltic and later as 2nd Operations Officer in the Arctic Patrol Frigate THETIS deployed to the Arctic. On completion of Ship’s Master (STCWII/2) at Svendborg International Maritime Academy followed by a Joint Junior Staff Course at the Royal Danish Defence College and a Principal Warfare Officers Course, he was early in 1994 promoted to Lieutenant Commander and was appointed to the Arctic Patrol Frigate TRITON as Operations Officer where he had several deployments in the North Atlantic and Arctic around Greenland. In 1996 Captain Termansen was assigned to the Arctic Patrol Cutter AGPA stationed in Greenland where he served as Commanding Officer and Division Commander for the Arctic Cutters. After two years in 1997 he attended the Maritime Warfare Course at the UK Maritime Warfare Centre followed by an assignment to the Frigate PETER TORDENSKIOLD as Head of the Operations Department. During the assignment, he was deployed with NATO’s Standing Naval Force Atlantic (STANAVFORLANT). In mid 1999 Captain Termansen returned to Denmark to attend the Joint General Staff Course at the Royal Danish Defence College. He was in 2000 promoted to Commander and posted at the Royal Danish Defence College as Deputy Head of Faculty for Political Science and Strategy and served as Assistant Course Director for the Joint General Staff Course.
