This is more challenging in sports writing. How do reporters on the home team beat keep from being fans when relating the losses, wins and reasons for both and when covering the opposing team? D.C.’s Capitals, Mystics and Nationals were champions who received extra pages and special coverage, including commemorative sections. This did not stop other professional, collegiate and high school teams from being reported.
