The Ladies of Cool are “ Way Too Cool”

I usually spend weekends neatly tucked away in my bed or close to my computer but this past Sunday, December 9,2012 presented a rare opportunity to enjoy the song interpretations of Kathy Kosins in a unique and truly enjoyable setting the historic Kresge Court of the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Kosins who is known both nationally and internationally presented her exploration of West Coast Cool in her performance entitled The ladies of Cool and her dynamite album by the same name.

Gallery guests were literally exhilarated by the golden strains of this amazing vocalist as she seemed to move effortlessly from the narration in which she shared quips on the careers of recording artists Anita O’Day , , and Chris Conner and then seemingly without effort delivered the tunes that made these artists the icons they are today !

The capacity crowd treated to a rare experience because Ms. Kosins voice was clear, precise and both blended with and complimented the orchestration in a fashion rarely achieved in such an intimate live setting. Of particular merit was the response of the capacity audience who ranged in age from pre teens to timeless and all of whom seemed to be mesmerized by Ms. Kosins onstage command of the medium.

Compelling , blockbuster , brilliant or all of these , you decide ! But whatever your conclusion, don’t you dare miss Kathy Kosins the ultimate “Lady Of Cool”!
