QveenHerby. AmyRenee HeidemannNoonan(bornApril29, 1986), knownbyher stage name QveenHerby, [1] is anAmericanrapper, singer, songwriter and entrepreneur. Bornand raised inSeward, Nebraska, she first gained fame as part ofthe music duo Karmin, withwhomshe released two studio albums. Followingthe duo's hiatus in2017, she beganthe solo project QveenHerby, whichincorporated R&B and hip hop influences. Career. 2010–2016:Music withKarmin. Heidemannbeganher musicalcareer as a member ofpop duo Karmin, withnow-husband Nick Noonan, releasingcover songs onYouTube. The group signed withEpic Records and released their debut EP, Hello , onMay7, 2012, to poor reviews fromcritics; despite this, the EP was a commercialsuccess supplemented bytwo hit singles:"Brokenhearted"peaked at number 16 onUS Billboard Hot 100 charts, and peaked within the top tenofthe charts inAustralia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, while "Hello "peaked at number one onthe Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs charts inthe United States. The duo followed Hello up bytheir debut full-lengthstudio album, Pulses (2014), whichsaw less commercialsuccess, and was supplemented by the single "Acapella ."Followingthe conclusionofpromotionfor Pulses , Karminleft Epic Records and beganreleasingmusic independently. [4] Theyreleased a slew ofsingles from2014 to 2016 inanticipationofa second studio album. These included "Sugar ", "Yesterday", "Alongthe Road ", "Didn't Know You", and "Come withMe (Pure Imagination) ". In2016, Karminreleased the Sugar EP incollaborationwithWild Culture. It features three remixes of"Sugar "and a remixofRileyPearce's single "Brave ". The duo released their second studio album, Leo Rising, onSeptember 9, 2016.
2017–present:Rebrandingas QveenHerby. In2017, allofKarmin's socialmedia was rebranded to QveenHerbyand a smallpreview stating"KarminIs Dead, LongLive the Qveen. "was posted. Noonanformallyannounced her solo career as wellas her debut extended play, EP 1 . [2] Althoughher husband Nick was stillinvolved in the project, Noonannoted that theyfelt that theycould not release the extended playas Karminas "There was that muchhappeningsonically."[5] Noonanpicked her stage name bycombining"Qveen"a nickname givento her incollege alongside "Herby"the mascot ofthe Nebraska Cornhuskers later realizingthat "Herby"means "Warrior". [5] The music video for her first single "Busta Rhymes"was released onJune 1, 2017, followed bythe release ofEP 1 a daylater. The EP experienced fair success, peakingat No. 37 onthe US Billboard Independent Albums Chart and No. 13 onthe US Heatseekers Albums Chart. [6]
Followingthe release ofEP 1 , Herbybeganreleasinga series ofextended plays, withEP 2 beingreleased in2017, EP3 and EP 4 in2018, EP 5 , EP 6 , EP 7 , and The Vignettes in2019, and TinyPiano , EP 8 and EP 9 in2020. Three ofthe EPs charted withinBillboard charts inthe US. Herbyreleased her debut albumA WomanonMay21, 2021.
