HPHC Annual Report 2017 Howick Pakuranga Hockey Club Annual Report 2017 8 November 2017 HPHC is the largest club in New Zealand with 743 members. Delivering strong hockey across all levels and ages. Providing programmes for players, coaches and umpires. Vision Acknowledging dedicated “To provide a whole of hockey programme where members who have served players, coaches, umpires and our community grow the club for many years. and achieve their full potential, enjoying hockey as a lifetime sport” Overview 2017 another successful year The Howick Pakuranga Hockey Club (HPHC) Highlights achieved include: continues to be one of the largest hockey Life Members Club Day - 10 June 2017 clubs in New Zealand with 743 members: 284 seniors /165 youth / 295 juniors. The club John Daniel Academy – junior / youth / fielded: 27 Junior teams/ 9 Youth Boys & Girls senior players teams/ 14 Senior Men & Women's teams. We cater for all ages including 8 members over 61 Coaching Programme – February to years old. Congratulations to Premier Girls McLaren and Premier Boys Manchester who were finals winners. HP Inglis were plate winners Juniors fielded 26 teams including Fun Sticks, Mini Sticks, Kiwi Sticks, Kiwik Sticks teams. Supported by 29 coaches, 5 student coaches, 23 managers. All teams were competitive and catered for a range of ability and experience.     SENTINEL HOMES TRANS-TASMAN SERIES MEDIA GUIDE The Sentinel Homes Trans-Tasman series features four doubleheaders between the Vantage Black Sticks and the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos in the build-up to the Tokyo Olympics. All eight matches will be played at the new Massey University turf in Palmerston North. The series is possible due to the opening of the trans-Tasman bubble in mid-April, allowing quarantine-free travel between the two countries. The matches will be the first internationals in New Zealand since the FIH Pro League was interrupted by Covid-19 in March last year. The Black Sticks squads for the Tokyo Olympics will be named in the week after the Trans- Tasman series.
