Lake Delton Ice - Pond Classic - Ice Wars FEBRUARY 7-9, 2014 On Lake Delton in the Indoor Waterpark Capitol - Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin TOURNAMENT RULES

 All players must be 18 years of age by the start date of the tournament. Teams must follow the division specific age requirements of the division they are registering for. Photo ID will be required at check-in and all players must provide upon request.  Players may only play on one team  All players are required to follow USA Hockey rules and equipment recommendations; helmets need to be HECC approved.  All teams must have home (light) and away (dark) jerseys.  Minimum number of players on a team is 4, Max. of 8. Teams must have 4 players at the start of each game.  Teams need to be ready to play at the designated start time; if a team does not have 4 to start the game, they will be penalized 1 for every three minutes the game starts late.  Only goals that are made from the attacking side of center ice will be counted.  There will be no or calls.  There will be one off-ice official to monitor the play; scoring, time, puck reset, and infraction mediator.  Referees will have the discretion to award a “penalty shot” to the opposing team when a minor penalty is flagrant and or a team is consistently playing in a reckless or careless manner. (Penalty shot will be taken from center ice and must be attempted within 30 seconds of the infraction. Anyone on the opposite team may take the shot. The team that is awarded the penalty shot will also be given possession of the puck following the penalty shot attempt, regardless of the outcome of the shot.  Abuse of tournament officials on or off the ice will result in ejection from the tournament without replacement or refund.  Fighting is strictly prohibited. Any player that fights will be ejected from the tournament with no replacement, and a goal will be awarded. Law Enforcement may also be called depending on circumstances of the fight.  Any major infraction called will result in automatic ejection without replacement.  No checking or hard body contact will be allowed. A penalty shot will be awarded if official deems necessary. No warning will be given.  A penalty for a game infraction will result in 1:30 penalty (minor) and 4:00 (major) off the ice without replacement.  No slap shots or motion of a slap shot with stick raising above knee level. Change in possession will result. If stick or puck raises above knee level and is deemed intentional, a major penalty will result.  Making contact with the puck with stick above the waist will result in a change of possession.  There will be no goal tenders or goalie equipment used. Goaltending by a player on the ice is not allowed. A player may not camp out in the im- mediate area of the goal or remain in the crease acting like a goalie. A warning will be given for the first infraction, change of possession for second violation, and a minor goal awarded for subsequent violations.  If the puck goes out of play the official will determine who sent it out and give possession to the non-offending team. The offending team must provide a three stick length upon re-entry and play must start immediately on the officials whistle.  There will be a center ice face-off at the start of both halves. Defensive team must wait on their side of the red line after a score and can engage the offensive team once they start moving the puck forward.  ILLEGAL PLAYERS AND TEAMS: If the tournament director(s) determine that an illegal player has participated in the tournament the following will occur: 1. The player or players shall be immediately removed from the tournament. 2. The team in violation will receive a 0-1 forfeit loss in each of the games played with the illegal player(s). Illegal players are any players that violate the minimum age requirement for their division or play in a division below their skill level. This also includes any player(s) who are not USA Hockey registered.  If the tournament director(s) at any point during the preliminary games feel that a specific team is far more experienced for the division in which they registered, the team will be permitted to continue games, however will receive a 0-1 forfeit and not be allowed to play in the tournament game. It is very important to register for the division you are most qualified for.

The tournament director(s) reserves the right to make any decision regarding tournament rules, format, Etc, for the overall good of the tournament.
