Spring Newsletter 2015

onnected C ...the Walden Way Camp is a place that needs #nofilter… One of the things I’ve always loved about camp is that it is an opportunity for so many of us to let go of the day-to-day stresses of the year, let our hair down, and have some fun. What I love most Owners / Directors about Walden is that for so many of us, we are able to let our true selves shine through and shed some of the outside pressures for the summer. As we played with the idea of technology and different forms of social media for this newsletter, I began to do a little research on Instagram. In my everyday life, I’m not much of an Instagram- guru, but as I looked at it more, I began to learn about the different filters that you can put on your pictures. I saw how a spontaneous moment can be altered by making it dull, bright or changing the color. It made me think about all of the, and filters that we put on when sharing our everyday lives how special a photo, or a situation, must be if it can be shared with #nofilter. Thinking about it further, it made me realize that Camp Walden is a place where we are able to live with no filter. The beauty and honesty of camp allows us to remain present in the moment, enjoy raw, uncensored experiences and be our best and truest selves. Walden has been and will always be a place that allows for people to accept one another for exactly who they are and allows our campers to share experiences in real time and without the need to filter or alter the moment … this is what makes our community so special. We look forward to a summer filled with friendship and memories and feel fortunate to share it with all of you! ays until we are together! Counting down the d With lots of love from Mark and me,
