Le Coq Arena, Tallinn Match background Another 3-0 win would suit Group E leaders England nicely as they take on Estonia for a third time , the sides having previously been paired in UEFA EURO 2008 qualifying. Match background • David Beckham was the star of the show when the sides first met in Tallinn on 6 June 2007, setting up goals for Peter Crouch (53) and Michael Owen (61) after Joe Cole (36) had put Steve McClaren's England in front. • Estonia found the going similarly tough in the return fixture on 13 October the same year. Shaun Wright-Phillips (11) and Wayne Rooney (32) were on target – the latter with his first competitive England goal since 2004 – before Taavi Rähn's headed own goal (33) completed the scoring. • England have won all four of their UEFA age-group competition meetings with Estonia, scoring 18 goals without reply. • The only meetings between the nations' clubs in UEFA competitions came in the first round of the 2006/07 UEFA Cup, when Newcastle United FC beat FC Levadia Tallinn 1-0 in Estonia and then 2-1 at home. 3 Estonia - England Sunday 12 October 2014 - 18.00CET (19.00 local time) Match press kit A. Le Coq Arena, Tallinn Head coach Magnus Pehrsson Date of birth: 25 May 1976 Nationality: Swedish Playing career: IF Brommapojkarna, Djurgårdens IF (twice), Bradford City AFC (loan), IFK Göteborg Coaching career: Åtvidabergs FF, IK Sirius, GAIS Göteborg, Aalborg BK, Djurgårdens IF, Estonia • A midfielder who made his name with Djurgården, Pehrsson lifted the Swedish title with the Stockholm club in 2002 yet was forced to end his career in 2003 after suffering serious injury. • Despite his young age Pehrsson learned the coaching ropes at Åtvidaberg before a move to Sirius in 2006; tasted life in Sweden's top tier when he joined GAIS in 2008. • After a season in the Allsvenskan he went to Denmark with AaB in January 2009, guiding the side to a seventh- placed finish in his first term. The club came two places higher the following campaign, yet Pehrsson departed the helm in October 2010. • Returned to Sweden to take charge of former team Djurgården in May 2011, helping them avoid relegation in his first season before steering them to a ninth-placed finish in the 2012 campaign. • Resigned as Djurgården boss in April 2013 and appointed Estonia's national team coach in December that year. Roy Hodgson Date of birth: 9 August 1947 Nationality: English Playing career: Crystal Palace FC, Tonbridge Angels FC, Gravesend and Northfleet FC, Maidstone United FC, Berea Park FC Coaching career: Halmstads BK, Bristol City FC, IK Oddevold, Örebro SK, Malmö FF, Neuchâtel Xamax FC, Switzerland, FC Internazionale Milano (twice), Blackburn Rovers FC, Grasshopper Club, FC København, Udinese Calcio, United Arab Emirates, Viking FK, Finland, Fulham FC, Liverpool FC, West Bromwich Albion FC, England • After he spent most of his playing days in the English non-league system, Hodgson's coaching career spanning eight countries began with Halmstad. He guided the Swedish club to their first-ever Allsvenskan titles in 1976 and 1979; then guided Malmö to top of the table for five years in a row, although the play-off system then used meant they were champions only twice in that time. • A period at Xamax followed before the first of four forays into international management. Hodgson's Switzerland qualified for the 1994 FIFA World Cup – their first in 28 years – and then EURO '96 but the coach departed for Inter before the latter tournament. • After taking the Nerazzurri to the 1997 UEFA Cup final, Hodgson had spells in England, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, the UAE, Norway and Finland, as well as a short stint back at Inter as technical director. • He returned to England and relegation-threatened Fulham in 2007/08, helping them to safety in his first term, a club- best seventh in the Premier League in his second and then the 2010 UEFA Europa League final. The 2-1 extra-time defeat by Club Atlético de Madrid proved his last game with the Cottagers, before he accepted the reins at Liverpool.

Date: 26 December 2014 Telegraph Echo December 26 2014 Opposition: Burnley Guardian Mirror Burnley Express Competition: League Independent Mail BBC Raheem Sterling’s second-half strike earns Liverpool victory at Burnley Liverpool’s plan to climb out of mid-table mediocrity and into the top four is up and running thanks to a decisive finish by Raheem Sterling that enlivened a forgettable game. With just seven wins from 18 matches there is still work to do in the second part of the season but at least they made a start here, playing a patient game that gradually wore down Burnley’s resistance. In the first half especially Liverpool were a long way from irresistible but they kept possession better the longer the game went on and in Sterling they possessed the sort of matchwinner Burnley would dearly love to have, someone capable of seizing on the most fleeting of opportunities and taking full advantage. Sterling is still learning as a centre-forward, it is not his normal position, and he finished his one opportunity with much more aplomb than he showed in similar situations when one on one with David de Gea in the recent defeat at Old Trafford. “Playing in that position Raheem will get those chances because of his pace,” Brendan Rodgers said. “He’s been working on his finishing and he is learning fast. He showed great composure with his finish, and that’s what I told the players we needed as half-time. As a team we were more composed in the second half.” This is not the easiest of grounds to visit for teams low on confidence and Rodgers will have been pleased to earn three points, particularly as the Liverpool goalkeeping saga took another unexpected twist after 16 minutes when Brad Jones’s “indefinite” stay between the posts came to an end.

The Dean Academy, a secondary London school in southwest England’s Glouces- tershire, closed October 23 to get rid of the false widow spiders. The spiders are commonly mistaken for their relative, the black widow spider, whose bite can be fatal. The school said no one has been bitten by the spider but local health authorities have advised it to close for the day to deal with the infestation. Experts say the Steodata nobilis, a species of the false widow, are becom- ing more common in the UK and are the most dangerous of the 12 species of biting spiders known in Britain.
