The report examines the Nordic tradition of supporting peace and conflict resolution efforts and whether an actual Nordic Peace brand exists. We find that a Nordic Peace brand, culture or tradition generally consists of two ele- ments: core values and ways of working. As concerns core values, we investigate how and whether mediation, dialogue, human rights, civil society and women, peace and security, can be elements of a Nordic Peace brand. As regards the ways of working together, the report demonstrates how joint Nordic work on peace and conflict is generally driven by pragmatic like-mindedness and practical solutions. The report categorizes three different types and degrees of working together: coordination, as the least integrated approach, primarily involving information sharing and trust building; cooperation, as a more ritualized yet still politically non-committal form of working together; and collaboration, as a more regular, integrated and in some cases more binding approach, where joint analysis leads to joint solutions. We find that whereas there is often limited appetite for formalizing cooperation, there is a grow- ing appetite among the Nordics to work together, both due to the practical benefits hereof but also due to geopolitical shifts in the Nordic neighbourhood, the increasing pushback against multilateralism and international norms globally. We also find that whereas certain policy areas may pose greater challenges for joint efforts, the bene- fits of working together count the potential to increase impact and gain information and that working together is made easier by shared working cultures, values and high levels of trust among the Nordics. Finally, we propose a set of recommendations re- garding Nordic joint projects and potential mechanisms of working together. We sug- gest two areas that are particularly prone to increased collaboration: women, peace and security, on the one hand, and preventive diplomacy on the other. We further identify a new trend, “non-exclusive Nordic cooperation”, where the Nordics work to- gether along with regional and global actors, arguing that this serves as inspiration for future Nordic peace and conflict resolution efforts. Introduction: Calcium, magnesium and ferric iron sulfates have been detected by the instrument suites on the Mars rovers. A subset of the magnesium sulfates show clear associations with nickel. These associations indicate Ni2+ co-precipitation with or substitution for Mg2+ from sulfate-saturated solutions. Nickel is ex- tracted from primary rocks almost exclusively at pH values less than 6, constraining the formation of these Mg-Ni sulfates to mildly to strongly acidic conditions. There is clear evidence for aqueous alteration at the rim of Endeavour Crater (Meridiani Planum), in the Murray formation mudstone (Gale Crater), and near Home Plate (Gusev Crater). The discovery of Mg-Ni sulfates at these locations indicates a history of fluid- rock interactions at low pH. Endeavour crater (2.28°S, 354.77°E) is a Noachian-aged 22 km-diameter impact structure of complex morphology in Meridiani Planum. The degradation state of the crater has been studied using Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and Opportunity rover data. Exposed rim segments rise ~10 m to ~100 m above the level of the embaying Burns Formation and the crater is 200-500 m deep with the southern interior wall exposing over ~300 m relief. Both pre-impact rocks (Matijevic Formation) and Endeavour impact ejecta (Shoemaker Formation) are present at Cape York, but only the Shoemaker crops out (up to ~140 m) along the rim segment from Murray Ridge to Cape Tribulation. Study of pristine complex craters Bopolu and Tooting, and morphometry of other martian complex craters, enables us to approximate Endeavour’s pristine form. The original rim likely averaged 410 m ±200 m in elevation and a 250-275 m section of ejecta (±50-60 m) would have composed a significant fraction of the rim height. The original crater depth was likely between 1.5 km and 2.2 km.

SWEDEN The Swedish economy showed a relatively robust performance in the first quarter of 2020, in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic triggering a sharp deterioration in economic activity from mid-March onwards. Real GDP grew 0.1% q-o-q in the first quarter, mainly due to positive net exports. Even though only some restrictions were put in place to counter the spread of the disease, both the demand and supply side of the economy took a hit. While the rather less restrictive measures helped cushion the immediate impact on the economy, particularly on domestically oriented branches, exporting industries experienced strong declines in output as cross-borders value chains were disrupted. Durable consumer goods, travel services and capital goods-producing sectors were particularly affected. Real GDP is expected to show a sharp fall in the second quarter of 2020, with a recovery following in the second half of the year. The uncertain outlook for demand and lower capacity utilisation should lead to a sharp decline in capital formation this year. Equipment investment is also expected to suffer, as it is the investment category that reacts most strongly to the business cycle. Private consumption decreases follow on from substantial job losses and uncertainty, as well as the impact of restrictions. The sharp fall in economic activity forecast in Sweden’s main trading partners is expected to translate into a large decline in exports. Economic growth is set to turn positive in 2021 as impediments slowly dissipate and the economies of major trading partners recover. A return to work should foster a bounce back in consumption growth in 2021.

Cross-cultural management is a modern topic and can help transnational companies deal with problems that occur due to different cultures in the organization, but is it really necessary to spend huge amount on intercultural training? We used a qualitative method and did a survey through a convenience sampling among six managers in the two countries. We analyzed the answers sorted by country and then compared them to each other. The result of the survey was that Swedish managers inform and include their staff in decisions to a bigger extend than German managers. Other than the preferences of a more democratic leadership the differences were, according to us, insignificant to perform any cultural training between the two countries. For further studies we suggest a deeper research method with a field study at every workplace, to conclude that the manager‟s answers concurred to the actual outcome. We also think that interviewing more managers, and within the same branch, would increase the creditability of the study. The result indicates that the money spent on intercultural training between Sweden and Germany is quite unnecessary and that the differences are smoothing out.
