(a) National Qualifications Framework Amendment Bill [B 20 - 2018] (National Assembly – proposed sec 75) [Explanatory summary of Bill and prior notice of its introduction published in Government Gazette No 40430 of 18 November 2016.]

Introduction and referral to the Portfolio Committee on Higher Education and Training of the National Assembly, as well as referral to the Joint Tagging Mechanism (JTM) for classification in terms of Joint Rule 160.

In terms of Joint Rule 154 written views on the classification of the Bill may be submitted to the JTM. The Bill may only be classified after the expiry of at least three parliamentary working days since introduction.

2. Dispatch of transcripts of meetings of portfolio committees investigating allegations of state capture

(a) Pursuant to the request of Deputy Chief Justice R M M Zondo dated 4 April 2018, Chairperson of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of State Capture, Corruption and Fraud in the Public Sector including Organs of State, for transcripts of proceedings of each portfolio committee conducting hearings involving allegations of state capture, the following transcripts of meetings of the Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises and Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs have been submitted to the Commission -

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries briefed the committee on 12 June 2018 on the Liquor Products Amendment Bill [B 10B - 2016]. The Bill was referred to the committee on 17 October 2017.

The Select Committee on Land and Mineral Resources, having deliberated on and considered the subject of the Liquor Products Amendment Bill [B 10B - 2016] (National Assembly – sec 75), referred to it and classified by the JTM as a section 75 Bill, agrees to the Bill without amendments.
